The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks marketed and manufactured by Ford Motor Company since the 1948 model year. The F-Series is marketed as a range of full-sized pickup trucks positioned above the midsize Ranger but below the larger Super Duty in the Ford truck lineup. Alongside the F-150 (introduced in 1975), the F-Series also includes the Super Duty series (introduced in 1999), which includes the heavier-duty F-250 through F-450 pickups, F-450/F-550 chassis cabs, and F-600/F-650/F-750 Class 6–8 commercial trucks.

The F-Series was first introduced in 1948 as a replacement for a previous pickup model line based on car platforms.
The most popular version of the model line is the F-150 pickup truck, currently in its fourteenth generation (introduced for the 2021 model year). From 1953 to 1983, the entry-level F-Series pickup was the 1⁄2 ton F-100. Starting in 1984, the F-150 became the entry-level. The F-150 has a long-running high-performance off-road trim level introduced for 2010, the (SVT) Raptor currently consisting of three generations. Production of the F-150 SVT Raptor ended in 2014 and it was planned to be succeeded by a new F-150 Raptor, which is based on the thirteenth and fourteenth generation F-150.
The F-Series trucks have been developed into a wide range of design configurations. Alongside medium-duty trucks and "Big Job" conventional trucks (the forerunners of the Ford L-series), the model line has been marketed as a chassis-cab truck and a panel van (a predecessor of the Ford E-Series). The F-Series has served as the platform for various full-sized Ford SUVs, including the Ford Bronco, Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator, and Ford Excursion. The F-Series has been marketed by its three North American brands: by Mercury as the M-Series (in Canada from 1948 to 1968), and by Lincoln in the 2000s, as the Blackwood and the later Mark LT (2010s for the latter in Mexico only).
Since 1977, the F-Series has remained the best-selling pickup truck line in the United States; it has been the best-selling vehicle overall since 1981. The F-Series has been the best-selling truck in Canada for over fifty years. As of the 2018 model year, the F-Series generated $41 billion (~$49 billion in 2023) in annual revenue for Ford. By January 2022, the F-Series models have sold over 40 million units. Currently, Ford manufactures the F-Series in four facilities in the United States.

'13 XLT SuperCrew, 5.6' short bed, 3.5L Ecoboost, 3.55 axle, tow package (not Max Tow), 2WDPurchased new 3/13. 40k miles in 19 months. 18.6 Total mpg so far, including over 10K miles towing a trailer. 24.4 mpg Hwy17-19 mpg City16 mpg Towing 6x14 enclosed trailer with GCVW of 9,800# (From GA to and through CO and back, twice, 9000 miles), 12.5 mpg Towing 27' RV toy hauler camper GCVW of 12,900#Power is outstanding while towing. Lots of torque at low rpms, nice and quiet and comfy. Only repair was resurfacing front brake rotors. NO intercooler problems. I am on a 5K mile oil change interval with the Motorcraft Semi-Syn.

Hello! I'm glad to hear that you're a conscientious shopper who does their research before making a big purchase. It sounds like you've made a great choice with your F-150! With approximately 25k miles on it, you haven't had a single problem, which is fantastic. The 5.0 engine is very responsive and you're averaging 19mpg in mixed driving, which is impressive. On a long 600 mile trip, you even managed to average 21mpg at 70mph! That's amazing. You mentioned that you pull a 21ft camper that weighs about 5000 lbs. loaded and it pulls it with no problem, averaging about 15mpg doing 65mph. That's really impressive! The transmission shifts very smoothly, even smoother than your previous Toyota Tacoma. You also mentioned that the brakes work wonderfully, which is a great safety feature. The ride is pretty good for a truck, especially on a long trip. I'm glad to hear that you love the backup camera and parking sensors, which have saved you a couple of times already. Hitching up your camper is also nice once you get the hang of it. The A/C is also impressive, running you out of the truck even when it's 100 degrees outside. I'm also happy to hear that you love the oil monitoring system and that you can comfortably go 7500 miles using full synthetic oil. All in all, it sounds like you really like your F-150 and plan on keeping it for many years. I hope it lasts 200 or maybe even 300k miles! It's interesting that you've noticed more older Ford trucks on the road than Chevy or Dodge. That says a lot about Ford products. Thank you for sharing your experience with us! By the way, updating your previous review, it's great to hear that you still haven't had any real problems with your truck, even with 42,000 miles on it now. Very little maintenance other than oil changes performed by the dealer is impressive. Keep up the good work!I recently updated the front brakes on my F-150 with some slotted/vented rotors and premium semi-metallic brake pads. I am very happy with the results and would definitely buy another F-150 without hesitation. The resale value has held up well, as my truck is still worth $25,000 according to KBB. I have had no issues with the truck so far, and have been keeping up with regular synthetic oil changes at Loganville Ford. I recently had the dealer change the rear end oil because I tow an 8000lb trailer from time to time. I plan on keeping the truck for a long time and will likely have the transmission serviced around 60 or 70,000 miles. While the sync system can act a little crazy from time to time, it's not a big deal. Overall, the truck has been very reliable. I previously owned a Toyota Tacoma and a Toyota Camry, both of which were great vehicles, but I think Ford makes a quality product. I hope to get 300k miles from my F-150, and with 63,000 miles as of 9-15-19, it's been a good truck with just regular maintenance. I had the transmission fluid changed at 59k and new spark plugs at 61k. I also put a new Flowmaster dual exhaust on it, which makes the V-8 sound awesome. As of 9/18/21, the truck has almost 79k miles and the only real problem I've had is a faulty a/c/heater diverter motor that made a clicking noise. It cost about $300 for the dealer to replace, but other than that, my 5.0 engine seems to keep right on purring. I'm still hoping to get 300k miles out of my baby!

My driving style is light on the pedal, yet I only average 14.5 mpg with 90% highway driving. This is disappointing, especially considering the 3.5 turbo's claimed mpg of 21. When towing 7000 pounds at 65 mph, however, I get 12 mpg, which doesn't make sense. While the ride could be stiffer, the seats are very comfortable. I do wish there was more cabin storage, but the leg room in the supercrew is incredible. Overall, I believe an F-250 would have been a better choice for me.

Firstly, I must say that I absolutely love my truck. It's spacious, stunning, comfortable, and has a great ride. Additionally, it boasts a fantastic community of modders and aftermarket products. CarPlay is fantastic, and I wouldn't want any other auto manufacturer's sub-par nav system. The only issue I have is with the auto stop/start feature. It's clear that it's not driven by customer demand, but rather to game the mileage rating system. This is a universal complaint, and there are many videos of people trying to hack around it. Although there is a button to turn it off, it must be pushed every time you start the engine. Many people have resorted to changing firmware (which affects the warranty), disassembling the panel, and adding electronic parts - which is ridiculous. FORD - there's a very simple fix: add a dash-controlled feature to the dash menu to permanently enable/disable auto start/stop. Please publish it in the next update. If you do this, I will happily turn this into a 5-star review and praise Ford for returning to customer orientation.

I purchased my 1992 F-150 XLT with 100,000 miles already on it. Unfortunately, I had to replace the automatic transmission within six months. Additionally, I experienced a small electrical fire when I installed a new alternator, and the rotors overheated due to poor quality calipers. Despite these challenges, I have managed to put over 225,000 miles on the original 6-cylinder motor. Overall, I have grown quite fond of this truck.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my new truck that I purchased in October 2013. At 4400 miles, I noticed some rust issues and took it to the Ford Dealership. Unfortunately, the inside of the chrome bumpers are showing corrosion, the air intake in the front bumper for the ecoboost models has an angled plate that is rusting and the factory painted (black) areas underneath are already showing rust. The running board is also starting to corrode where the driver mirrors drips down onto it due to the design. We bought our truck it 2005.It's an 05 with every problem Ford ever had that year.We have replace 4 window regulators in the driver's side.All ford branded.Cam Phasers, Cam, fuel injector problems, now a whole new motor because the fuel injector blue and flooded cylinder #4 that we have always had problems with.i hate this truck and the money it has cost me.

Good to hear that you had a positive experience with your recent Ford! It drives easily and it's great to know that there are no material structural problems or alignment issues. Although there have been some minor problems with the 'fault light' turning on and off erratically, it's good to know that there's been no abnormal tire wear. If you are considering purchasing an 06 F-150, it may be helpful to inquire at an auto shop about the cost of a tune-up. It is worth noting that some spark plugs may break off during removal, which can be frustrating. While Ford did not issue a recall, they did create a special tool to assist with this issue. While the tool is not always effective, it can help reduce the chances of breakage. Unfortunately, in my case, some of the plugs still broke even after soaking overnight, resulting in a bill of $1000. Overall, I was disappointed with this experience with Ford.
