The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks marketed and manufactured by Ford Motor Company since the 1948 model year. The F-Series is marketed as a range of full-sized pickup trucks positioned above the midsize Ranger but below the larger Super Duty in the Ford truck lineup. Alongside the F-150 (introduced in 1975), the F-Series also includes the Super Duty series (introduced in 1999), which includes the heavier-duty F-250 through F-450 pickups, F-450/F-550 chassis cabs, and F-600/F-650/F-750 Class 6–8 commercial trucks.

The F-Series was first introduced in 1948 as a replacement for a previous pickup model line based on car platforms.
The most popular version of the model line is the F-150 pickup truck, currently in its fourteenth generation (introduced for the 2021 model year). From 1953 to 1983, the entry-level F-Series pickup was the 1⁄2 ton F-100. Starting in 1984, the F-150 became the entry-level. The F-150 has a long-running high-performance off-road trim level introduced for 2010, the (SVT) Raptor currently consisting of three generations. Production of the F-150 SVT Raptor ended in 2014 and it was planned to be succeeded by a new F-150 Raptor, which is based on the thirteenth and fourteenth generation F-150.
The F-Series trucks have been developed into a wide range of design configurations. Alongside medium-duty trucks and "Big Job" conventional trucks (the forerunners of the Ford L-series), the model line has been marketed as a chassis-cab truck and a panel van (a predecessor of the Ford E-Series). The F-Series has served as the platform for various full-sized Ford SUVs, including the Ford Bronco, Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator, and Ford Excursion. The F-Series has been marketed by its three North American brands: by Mercury as the M-Series (in Canada from 1948 to 1968), and by Lincoln in the 2000s, as the Blackwood and the later Mark LT (2010s for the latter in Mexico only).
Since 1977, the F-Series has remained the best-selling pickup truck line in the United States; it has been the best-selling vehicle overall since 1981. The F-Series has been the best-selling truck in Canada for over fifty years. As of the 2018 model year, the F-Series generated $41 billion (~$49 billion in 2023) in annual revenue for Ford. By January 2022, the F-Series models have sold over 40 million units. Currently, Ford manufactures the F-Series in four facilities in the United States.

The selector for this review didn't have the right option for my truck. I have a F-150 XLT Super Cab 2x4 eco boost engine with a shorter cab and longer bed. I use this truck to tow a light weight (7200 lb dry weight, 9500 lbs loaded) 34' fifth wheel RV. So far, I have towed about 9000 miles from the flat (and sometimes windy) lands of Kansas to the mountain passes of over 10 and 11,000 feet with absolutely no problems. This truck pulls my RV with ease and I can tow as fast as I want, even using cruise control. The MPG on the highway is 20-23 and 8-11 while towing. It's working perfectly for our needs.

I bought this truck with 107k on it and I absolutely love it! It's not only handsome, but also incredibly dependable and comfortable. I had previously purchased a 2003 model that was almost identical to this one and drove it for two years before trading it in on a HEMI Ram. However, I regretted that decision ever since. After much searching, I finally found one just like my old one - same color (white), same body style, sport package, same drivetrain (4.2 V6 and 5 Spd), and same interior color. With 120k miles on it, it runs and drives just like my new one did. The previous owner used it to pull heavy trailers, so I replaced the clutch because the old one was showing signs of wear. I can't express how much I love this truck!

The sharp design of my truck has continued to baffle people as to its age, and I am often asked if I'd like to sell it. However, I have no intention of doing so! With almost 140,000 miles on the clock, it runs like a dream. While I take very good care of my vehicles, not much has been necessary with my truck other than routine care and minor repairs -- very minor! The power is excellent, driving is smooth and easy, and it's a breeze to switch to 4x4. The leather seats adjust perfectly, especially on long drives. I have hauled boats, cars, and heavy closed trailers without any problem. Ford is an excellent brand... in fact, my 1966 F100 has almost 500,000 miles on the original engine!

This is a review of my 2010 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew that I bought new in March 2010. I have driven 48,000 miles and have had zero defects or problems. The 4.6 24v engine gets an impressive 25 mpg on the interstate at 68 mph using cruise control. This truck is incredibly quiet and rides much better than our 2008 Ford Explorer. The interior is spacious and the back seat provides plenty of room for kids. I still have the original Michelin tires, but they will need to be replaced after 5000 more miles. When towing our 28-foot Greywolf travel trailer, the mileage declines to 9-10 mpg, but I have no trouble towing and no problems with sway. The built-in trailer brake is fantastic. If you are looking for a great used truck, I highly recommend this one!

The timing chain needs to be replaced after 75,000 miles. Despite the lack of assistance from Ford, we will take care of the bill. We will consider other options besides Ford for our future automotive needs.

I recently purchased a 2021 F-150 King Ranch and was initially thrilled with its beautiful design, smooth ride, and powerful 3.5 V6 engine boasting 400 horsepower. However, after just one week of ownership, I began receiving error messages indicating that the rear brake assist was not available. Despite taking it to the dealer and having a 360-degree camera alignment, the issue persisted and I began receiving a multitude of other error messages, including collision warnings and brake failure warnings. After 40 days in service, Ford recommended replacing a BNC cable, which temporarily fixed the issue but it has since returned. As a result, I have requested a repurchase under the lemon law. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law also experienced issues with her newly purchased 2022 Platinum F150, receiving her first error message while driving it home from the dealership. It seems that Ford is currently experiencing some serious issues. As a result, I have decided to switch to a Ram.

It's frustrating when the engine lights come on every time you tow 3000lbs. According to Ford, using premium gas can help. However, after almost 90 days in the shop, this solution only worked temporarily. Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to the car. I hope the next owner has better luck.

I've owned four F150s over the years and recently traded my 5-month-old 2019 King Ranch for a Ram Laramie quad cab night edition. As a diehard Ford fan, I was disappointed with the KR as it had numerous paint flaws, debris, drips, and the roof paint started bubbling off. Despite Ford and my dealer repainting a third of my vehicle twice, the Ruby Red metallic never matched. After escalating the issue to Ford, they offered to repaint it again, but the dealer informed me that the whole truck would need repainting to fix it right. Unfortunately, Ford wouldn't budge on a new vehicle and asked me to pay an additional $7200 for another KR. However, after driving my first Ram on Monday, I was hooked and may never buy another Ford.
