2022 Ford F-150 problems
The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks marketed and manufactured by Ford Motor Company since the 1948 model year. The F-Series is marketed as a range of full-sized pickup trucks positioned above the midsize Ranger but below the larger Super Duty in the Ford truck lineup. Alongside the F-150 (introduced in 1975), the F-Series also includes the Super Duty series (introduced in 1999), which includes the heavier-duty F-250 through F-450 pickups, F-450/F-550 chassis cabs, and F-600/F-650/F-750 Class 6–8 commercial trucks.
History
The F-Series was first introduced in 1948 as a replacement for a previous pickup model line based on car platforms.
The most popular version of the model line is the F-150 pickup truck, currently in its fourteenth generation (introduced for the 2021 model year). From 1953 to 1983, the entry-level F-Series pickup was the 1⁄2 ton F-100. Starting in 1984, the F-150 became the entry-level. The F-150 has a long-running high-performance off-road trim level introduced for 2010, the (SVT) Raptor currently consisting of three generations. Production of the F-150 SVT Raptor ended in 2014 and it was planned to be succeeded by a new F-150 Raptor, which is based on the thirteenth and fourteenth generation F-150.
The F-Series trucks have been developed into a wide range of design configurations. Alongside medium-duty trucks and "Big Job" conventional trucks (the forerunners of the Ford L-series), the model line has been marketed as a chassis-cab truck and a panel van (a predecessor of the Ford E-Series). The F-Series has served as the platform for various full-sized Ford SUVs, including the Ford Bronco, Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator, and Ford Excursion. The F-Series has been marketed by its three North American brands: by Mercury as the M-Series (in Canada from 1948 to 1968), and by Lincoln in the 2000s, as the Blackwood and the later Mark LT (2010s for the latter in Mexico only).
Since 1977, the F-Series has remained the best-selling pickup truck line in the United States; it has been the best-selling vehicle overall since 1981. The F-Series has been the best-selling truck in Canada for over fifty years. As of the 2018 model year, the F-Series generated $41 billion (~$49 billion in 2023) in annual revenue for Ford. By January 2022, the F-Series models have sold over 40 million units. Currently, Ford manufactures the F-Series in four facilities in the United States.

I recently purchased a 2022 Hurbid Gray F-150 Platinum 4 x 4 from SC with over 6K miles on it. So far, I've driven it for a few hundred miles and I'm really enjoying it. It's a quiet ride and I'm getting an average of around 20.5 MPG with mixed in-town and freeway driving. I'm hoping the lithium battery will last a long time. One thing to note is that some of the 2022 Platinum trims do not come with massage seats due to the vehicle computer chip shortage, so it's worth checking before you buy if that's important to you. I also had Bullet Liner added to the truck bed and I'm pleased with the results. The installer mentioned that the liner was founded by the guy who sold his previous business to Line X. However, I did have to pay extra for the lift gate lining because the installer had to remove the plastic cover and do extra work to protect the parts due to the high pressure spraying.

I love the Ford F150! It's the most versatile vehicle I've ever owned. It can seat up to 6 passengers (just like most cars) and has so much more room inside. With the box, I can haul almost anything I need, and with the tarp, it has a bigger trunk than any car. It drives and rides so smoothly, and my friends have even commented on how roomy the back seat is. Plus, the back seat folds up for even more room for a pet or other things!

I'm so glad to hear that you love this vehicle! It sounds like it has everything you need, from the spacious interior to the beautiful screen and mini table. It's great to hear that you had such a smooth driving experience. Thank you for sharing your positive feedback with us!

I had a 2005 Audi A6, then a 2008 Benz C300, then a 2012 F-150, then a 2016 F-150, then a 2019 Silverado RST, and now a 2022 Ford F-150 Lariat 4×4 with all the bells and whistles. I wanted the Limited but I could not get the long bed, only the short bed, so I bought a Lariat and put around $20,000 worth of options on it.I used to buy the F-150 because of the incredible resale value. Now that I am older and very comfortably retired, the resale value would not matter but the F-150 is lot more comfortable than just about all the other cars out there. The continuously damping suspension. The seats. The cavernous interior. The technical features. The weight scale in the truck bed. Its ability to tow. The BlueCruise is a nice addition, now I don't have to keep my hands on the steering wheel during the long drives to the house in Vegas. The gas mileage has been around 27, thanks to the hybrid PowerBoost engine. I once managed to get 31 miles per gallon on a drive from my house in Monarch Beach to Los Angeles Airport and back.I love this truck. For some reason, I could not select Lariat 4dr SuperCrew 4WD 6.5 ft. LB... but that's what I have.

It seems like Platinum PB Edmunds may not be aware of the various engine options available. Unfortunately, some Ford models have had issues with their electrical systems, and the Hybrid model may not be suitable for infrequent use as it can cause problems with the battery system. Additionally, there have been reports of problems with the 10R80 10-speed transmission. It's important to note that Ford has been accused of withholding information about a hardware defect in the transmission for years. Overall, the value of these vehicles may not be up to par.

This truck has some great features like higher end appointments, sky roof, leather, and a large screen. However, there have been some issues that have come up. The driver's seat collapsed within 4k miles and had to be replaced, even though I'm not a big guy. The infotainment software can be unpredictable, with some features working properly and others not. The memory seats work most of the time, but the radio resets randomly and the whole infotainment system will sometimes reboot while driving. The entry lights work most of the time, but the climate control can be unpredictable and switch to full blast fan or radically change temperature. The rattling, creaking, and clunking from various places inside the cab can be quite annoying. It has been happening almost since the day I got it, and the dealer seemingly has no way of dealing with it. The truck has less than 19k miles and is getting noisier by the day. I had my wife drive around while I crawled around inside the cab trying to find the source of the noises, but they seem to be coming from everywhere. I believe it's either the result of rushed assembly, poor materials (adhesives, fasteners), or both. Whatever it is, it shouldn't be happening to a $70k+ truck that has spent most of its young life on paved city streets and highways. The software is updated at least a few times a month, but it can be flaky and sometimes introduces new electronic issues.

I really like the truck overall. The rear seat configuration is fantastic, especially the ability to fold part of the seat up for extra room. This feature works perfectly for me as I use a rolling walker and it keeps it out of the weather. However, I have had some trouble with my phone not working. It was fine for the first two months, but now the local dealer has told me it may take two days or more to fix. Unfortunately, I can't be without my office for that long and I have to schedule oil changes at least a month ahead. If I have to wait two days to get this fixed, it may not be in my best interest. To use the phone, I will find a place to park and turn the truck off.

Firstly, I am sorry to hear about the issues you faced with your 2020 Ford Explorer St and your 22 Ford F-150 Lariat 5.0. It sounds like you had a very frustrating experience with both vehicles. I hope you are doing well now. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. On the other hand, my wife purchased a 2022 VW Tiguan made in Mexico by non-union labor and has had no warranty issues in the 10k miles and 17 months of ownership. I recently traded my truck for a 24 VW Atlas R-Line and I couldn't be happier. As a long-time truck owner of various brands, I can confidently say that American-made union products are not up to par.
