The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks marketed and manufactured by Ford Motor Company since the 1948 model year. The F-Series is marketed as a range of full-sized pickup trucks positioned above the midsize Ranger but below the larger Super Duty in the Ford truck lineup. History
The F-Series was first introduced in 1948 as a replacement for a previous pickup model line based on car platforms.
The most popular version of the model line is the F-150 pickup truck, currently in its fourteenth generation (introduced for the 2021 model year). From 1953 to 1983, the entry-level F-Series pickup was the 1⁄2 ton F-100. Starting in 1984, the F-150 became the entry-level. The F-150 has a long-running high-performance off-road trim level introduced for 2010, the (SVT) Raptor currently consisting of three generations. Production of the F-150 SVT Raptor ended in 2014 and it was planned to be succeeded by a new F-150 Raptor, which is based on the thirteenth and fourteenth generation F-150.
The F-Series trucks have been developed into a wide range of design configurations. Alongside medium-duty trucks and "Big Job" conventional trucks (the forerunners of the Ford L-series), the model line has been marketed as a chassis-cab truck and a panel van (a predecessor of the Ford E-Series). The F-Series has served as the platform for various full-sized Ford SUVs, including the Ford Bronco, Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator, and Ford Excursion. The F-Series has been marketed by its three North American brands: by Mercury as the M-Series (in Canada from 1948 to 1968), and by Lincoln in the 2000s, as the Blackwood and the later Mark LT (2010s for the latter in Mexico only).
Since 1977, the F-Series has remained the best-selling pickup truck line in the United States; it has been the best-selling vehicle overall since 1981. The F-Series has been the best-selling truck in Canada for over fifty years. As of the 2018 model year, the F-Series generated $41 billion (~$49 billion in 2023) in annual revenue for Ford. By January 2022, the F-Series models have sold over 40 million units. Currently, Ford manufactures the F-Series in four facilities in the United States.

- Consequence: Damaged axle hub splines can result in a vehicle rollaway when the vehicle is in park without the parking brake applied or cause a loss of drive power. Both of these conditions can increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the left and right rear axle shaft assemblies, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed January 29, 2024 and again on June 12, 2024. I'm so glad to hear that you got the lariat with powerboost! It sounds like this truck has really addressed all of the issues you had with previous models. The extension and running boards for quick access to the bed, as well as the mobile workstation, sound like really convenient features. And it's great to hear that the all wheel drive is performing so well - pulling 9k lbs in 4lo through soft silty soil with no issues is really impressive! Overall, it sounds like you've got an awesome truck on your hands.

I'm on my third leased F-150 in a row, having previously owned a 2017 and 2020 model. I never expected to lease a third one, but my Ford dealer came through for me in a completely unexpected way. I haven't seen any other company offering a new vehicle lease for three years/31,500 miles at a total cost of 26% of the MSRP. All three of my F-150s have been very similar, with SuperCabs and the 2.7 Ecoboost engine. I tow a 4000 lb boat over 3000 miles a year, locally and back and forth to Florida in the winter. The first was an XL but with 20 inch wheels, the latter two have been XLTs, also with the big wheels. The '17 had a six-speed transmission, the last two a ten-speed. I saw no advantage to the greater number of gears in the 2020 edition, no better mileage and not as smooth. This newest one seems better calibrated; no more jerkiness. The most remarkable thing about the new one is that I am getting consistently better mileage; like 2 mpg more on average. I have no idea why given it's the same engine and I thought the transmission is the same as in my 2020, but the decreased gas consumption has kept repeating itself. Once again, I didn't get to order exactly what I wanted, I chose one off the lot and had to take or miss options that I would have wanted or done without. I would have leased a crew cab this time around, but the real out-the-door price dictated another SuperCab. This one, like my last, came with a bench seat, which is not so bad as the dog likes to sit between us on long trips and I truly prefer either the old school column shift (or the console shift in my '17) over the button and dial nonsense common these days. The cloth seats are exceptionally comfortable on long trips, and the three position heat feature is greatly appreciated on cold mornings. I now have automatic climate control for the first time on an F-150 and love it compared to the manual version in previous ones.I love the big center screen and the combination of touch and knob controls. Ford has struck a nice balance here. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a truck with adaptive cruise control. Ford only builds it into higher trim levels at insane sticker prices, and none were available on the dealer lots and websites I checked. This truck has lane departure warnings in the mirrors for the first time for me, which is a mixed bag. The pretty large extra convex mirrors built into the side mirrors in my previous trucks were adequate for me. More importantly, the new system is automatically disabled when I attach my trailer. I think the higher trim levels do something about this, but I expect this to be a big negative in my first Florida trip coming up. Sometimes, cheaper and simpler is good enough. I am still impressed with just how quiet and smooth riding this truck is. A new very top trim level Mazda CX-50 we just bought (primarily for my wife) is noisier and harder riding than this F-150, which says a lot about this pickup or perhaps about the Mazda. Towing is still a strong suit in this truck, even with the small engine. I was considering getting a mid-sized three-row crossover with 5000 lb towing capacity to replace my 2020 (or buying out my lease), but decided that towing at maximum capacity on long trips is not a great idea. Towing with this truck is effortless. I wish I had the optional bigger fuel tank for the Florida tow, but I believe Ford has remedied this in the revised 2024 F-150. This truck came with a trailer brake controller which I have no use for with my boat. Unfortunately, Ford ran out of parts in 2023 for the auto stop/start feature that I had on my previous two trucks. I didn’t really mind it on the last two but don’t miss not having it on this one. While the EPA city mileage is one mpg less on the window sticker, as I have said, I am getting better gas mileage on this new truck.I'm curious to see how this truck performs in the snow with its current tires, especially after my 2020 model disappointed me with its Goodyears. Despite having four-wheel drive, I had to be towed when I slid off my driveway due to my own mistake of not engaging the 4x4 before starting up the incline with just light snow on the driveway. However, I believe better tires would have helped me get out. Since it's a leased vehicle, I'm hesitant to spend money on winter tires in a region that doesn't get a lot of snow. Next time, I'll make sure to engage 4x4 when in doubt. I'm also curious why the truck, and every other pick-up, doesn't let me leave it in four-wheel on dry pavement, unlike previous Explorers and Expeditions I've owned. One thing I dislike about this truck is the redesign that moved the steering wheel controls to the opposite side of the wheel from previous versions. I was used to having the radio and cruise control features in one place, and now they're reversed. It's frustrating to have to adjust to each vehicle I own, especially in a vehicle that's supposed to breed brand loyalty. I have to admit that I'm not particularly brand loyal, and I visited Chevy, Ram, Nissan, and Toyota dealers before deciding to stick with Ford. In my opinion, nobody had a better product, and all had much higher, non-competitive, lease prices. I love the Ford rewards program, even though I don't know much about it or how I earned points. I can say that leasing my 2020 F-150 for three years cost me absolutely nothing! Thanks to the points I earned, all required service and NYS inspections were free (primarily oil/filter changes and tire rotations).The dealer in Sarasota even gave me free breakfast while I waited. I'm happy to report that I haven't had any issues with this truck so far, which is a relief. One of the advantages of leasing is that I don't have to worry about replacing tires, brakes, or making non-warranty repairs. It's also great that Ford has made leasing a pick-up truck so desirable and affordable. Unfortunately, Edmond's doesn't allow me to select my exact trim level, but I have an XLT SuperCab 6.5 foot 4x4 with the 2.7 turbo. Overall, I'm really pleased with my experience so far!

My husband, who works in construction, recently retired his 2001 Ford F250 and we decided to replace it with an F150 XLT. We are both thrilled with our choice! The truck has all the features we were looking for, including ApplePlay which we absolutely love. The seats are incredibly comfortable and the back seat area is spacious enough to accommodate extra riders or cargo for road trips. Although we also own an Acura MDX which we adore, we are excited to take the F150 on a road trip in the future. We opted to have the bed sprayed instead of purchasing a fit-in cover and we are very pleased with our decision. Additionally, my husband added a tonneau cover that can be rolled away to make room for taller items. The truck is perfect for both domestic and work-related purposes. We have absolutely no regrets about our purchase!

Coming from the Toyota world, I must say that the F150 is like a spaceship! I upgraded from a 2013 Tacoma Baja Ed to the Tundra TRD SR5, but the Tacoma had a better package than the Tundra, so it felt like a downgrade. However, with the 2022 F150 Lariat, I went three steps up and I couldn't be happier! The technology package is unbelievable and the interior is so comfortable. The F150 has so many features that you'll probably never use them all, but it's great to have them there. The 3.7 ecoboost engine is powerful without breaking the bank for fuel, which is something where Toyota has totally dropped the ball. The Crew Cab has a lot more space than the Tacoma or the Tundra Double Cab, and the interior design is much safer to use than that of the Tundra. For instance, the heated seats button in the Tundra is located way below the AC or radio controls, which is a safety issue since you have to take your eyes off the road to turn them on or off. With a V6 engine that has the same response as a V8 2 liters bigger and is faster, it says a lot. Even my insurance went down a little with all the safety features. I couldn't be happier!

My best vehicle yet! The acceleration is great and the interior has been significantly improved. It rides very nicely and I have no complaints so far.

We've had the truck for a month now, but unfortunately it has already spent 10-12 of the first 35 days in the dealership's service department. They had to replace the battery and are still trying to figure out an intermittent 'check engine' warning light on the dash display. However, we're hopeful that AutoNation Ford Torrance will be able to fix the flaw. If they do, we might end up liking the truck more.

Firstly, I would like to share my personal experience with the 2017 F150 FX4 5.0 with the 6-speed transmission, which was an exceptional vehicle that was 100% reliable and an all-around great choice. When it came time to upgrade to the new body style and a higher trim model, I knew I wanted to stick with Ford. I opted for the Powerboost and was pleasantly surprised by its impressive fuel economy. I was able to achieve 34mpg around town and 25mpg with mixed driving without even trying! The seats were comfortable, even for someone over 6ft tall, and the headroom was good both in the front and back. However, I did notice that the A-pillar was thicker, which added to the blind spot, and the base mirrors were too small to see out of. Additionally, the turning radius has been reduced, making it harder to maneuver. Unfortunately, the fit and finish of the new model is not up to par with the previous one. The last truck, even when taken off-road, didn't have a single squeak or rattle, but this one constantly rattles. The doors don't seal properly and whistle, which is quite frustrating. The Sync 4 system, while the screen is ultra-nice, the software leaves a lot to be desired. Both wireless Carplay and Android Auto have connectivity issues, causing you to have to figure out where you're going with your phone in hand. Even when hard-cabled, it still has the same issues. The built-in navigation, which used to be free, is now a service, but only if you allow Ford and Ford Insurance Company access to live driving data. Otherwise, there's no navigation available. The material quality has also gone down, from feeling rugged to feeling cheap. Even the shift knob feels like terrible plastic. The rear headrests on the older models would flip down, but now they are fixed and in the line of visibility. Personally, I would recommend the Tundra over this model. After owning this truck for 5 months and having it in the shop for electrical issues, which left me stranded twice in 7k miles, I would recommend anything but this.

After driving my new car home for about 150 miles, I encountered an issue with the low battery warning and was unable to start the car using the phone app. However, after consulting with the dealer, I learned that the battery simply needed to be charged by driving the car for an hour. While this may seem inconvenient, it is important to note that regular driving should keep the battery charged for normal use. Overall, I am confident in my decision to purchase a hybrid car.

The vehicle I rented is a Lariat. While it has a nice engine and a quiet ride, I found it lacking when compared to my RAM Laramie. Unfortunately, the interior is not comparable, as it has cheap plastic and leatherette or vinyl - I'm not sure. Additionally, the visibility is somewhat restrained when looking over my shoulder, and the seats are much less comfortable than those in my RAM. The wheels are also cheaper compared to my RAM. Although the technology seems good, it is fairly busy. Even the wheel well panels are cheaper than expected. Overall, I was surprised and expected much more from a Lariat. However, I am not a hater and appreciate the opportunity to try it out.

I purchased a new 2023 F-150 XLT in October 2023, but unfortunately, the iwe system started malfunctioning in cold weather less than a month later. Despite taking it to the shop four times, the issue persists. The dealer has contacted Ford, but they have yet to find a solution. It appears that this is a widespread issue in XLT and lower packages, as even the loaner I was given had the same problem. While I have been denied a buyback so far, I am confident that a resolution will be reached soon.
