The F-Series was first introduced in 1948 as a replacement for a previous pickup model line based on car platforms.
The most popular version of the model line is the F-150 pickup truck, currently in its fourteenth generation (introduced for the 2021 model year). From 1953 to 1983, the entry-level F-Series pickup was the 1⁄2 ton F-100. Starting in 1984, the F-150 became the entry-level. The F-150 has a long-running high-performance off-road trim level introduced for 2010, the (SVT) Raptor currently consisting of three generations. Production of the F-150 SVT Raptor ended in 2014 and it was planned to be succeeded by a new F-150 Raptor, which is based on the thirteenth and fourteenth generation F-150.
The F-Series trucks have been developed into a wide range of design configurations. Alongside medium-duty trucks and "Big Job" conventional trucks (the forerunners of the Ford L-series), the model line has been marketed as a chassis-cab truck and a panel van (a predecessor of the Ford E-Series). The F-Series has served as the platform for various full-sized Ford SUVs, including the Ford Bronco, Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator, and Ford Excursion. The F-Series has been marketed by its three North American brands: by Mercury as the M-Series (in Canada from 1948 to 1968), and by Lincoln in the 2000s, as the Blackwood and the later Mark LT (2010s for the latter in Mexico only).
Since 1977, the F-Series has remained the best-selling pickup truck line in the United States; it has been the best-selling vehicle overall since 1981. The F-Series has been the best-selling truck in Canada for over fifty years. As of the 2018 model year, the F-Series generated $41 billion (~$49 billion in 2023) in annual revenue for Ford. By January 2022, the F-Series models have sold over 40 million units. Currently, Ford manufactures the F-Series in four facilities in the United States.

This truck is tough and rugged, yet it still provides a smooth ride. Although I didn't opt for any fancy extras, it perfectly suits my family's needs.

Excellent truck so far... I'm so glad I drove 350 miles from the dealership to get it! The only thing I'm not crazy about is the hybrid start button, which has to be turned off every time I start the truck. But that's a minor issue. Overall, this is the truck of my dreams! The katskin leather seats and XD KMC Custom wheels are awesome. I absolutely love my truck!

My wife and I purchased our Metallic F-150 Super Crew Sport Edition with 16,000 miles from the secondary leasing market in March. We absolutely love everything about this truck! The sport edition looks outstanding and it has exceeded our expectations. It's great to drive around in and the 2.7 ecoboost provides superb gas mileage, which is perfect for us since we don't tow much. The truck rides high and maneuvers like a smaller vehicle. We use it to load garbage and refuse in the back to bring to the dump and recycling center. Since purchasing it, I have added weather tech floor mats, a soft tonneau, and an extra large hammock style seat cover for our labrador. If you're considering this rig, I highly recommend the massive moonroof as it really enhances the ride. The only two things we would have liked are the electronics to program a garage door opener and leather seats, which come with the Lariat upgrade that we weren't ready to pay for. We're excited to load it up later this week for a college drop off trip from New Jersey to Ohio!

I recently traded my 2013 F150 with 3.7 V6 for my FX4 5.0 Coyote and I must say, I am loving the quiet and smooth ride! The rear seat area is huge, making it perfect for long trips as I can comfortably sleep back there while my wife drives. Despite reading some forums and getting worried about potential transmission issues, I have put over 2000 miles on it and it's only getting better. Although I'm not a fan of the ASS feature, I'm glad I can disable it. The sound system is functional and the FordPass is amazing! The V8 engine is powerful and sounds great. I test drove the Ecoboosts and almost went for the 3.5, but it just didn't have the same character. I am a bit concerned about the oil consumption issue with the V8, but so far, so good. I'm also getting pretty good mileage. My last truck only got 21 mpg on the highway, which was pretty sad for a 3.7. The 5.0 gets 19-20 at 80 mph, and with the 36 gallon fuel tank, I can literally drive all day without stopping. Overall, I absolutely love this truck! It's unfortunate to hear about all the horror stories out there, but I feel lucky so far.

In the past 1 1/2 years, I have unfortunately had to make five warranty claims for my truck. However, the service center has been very helpful and covered all repairs under warranty. Although it doesn't leave me feeling completely confident, I appreciate their assistance. To give myself some extra peace of mind, I decided to purchase an aftermarket bumper to bumper warranty. On the positive side, the truck is incredibly fast and has great suspension. The seats are comfortable, although the headrest is at a slightly awkward angle which can cause discomfort on long road trips. The truck has more space than I anticipated and can easily fit three car seats in the back. Gas mileage is decent, with over 17 miles per gallon on steady cruising. The only downside is the size of the truck, which can be difficult to park or drive in urban settings. However, it is perfect for fitting my whole family and all of our gear. As a first-time truck owner, I sometimes feel a bit self-conscious getting out of such a large vehicle in a parking lot, but overall I am very happy with my purchase. I hope that my experience with reliability is just a fluke and that other Raptors are more dependable.

My 2019 Lariat 5.0 is fantastic, although the gas mileage is not as good as I had hoped. Despite being rated at 22 on the highway, I am only getting around 18 with moderate driving. However, I am confident that with proper care and maintenance, I can improve the fuel efficiency. With 2000 miles on it, I am still getting to know my vehicle and I am excited to see what it can do.

Despite my initial excitement for the 2019 Ford F150 XLT 3.5 Ecoboost, I have unfortunately experienced some issues with the transmission and cam phasors. While the dealer did install a new transmission at 7000 miles, I am still experiencing some banging on deacceleration. Additionally, the cam phasors have become noisy on cold start and the dash is warped and coming apart. While I understand that these issues can be frustrating, I am confident that Ford will be able to address them in a timely and effective manner. In the meantime, I am appreciative of my reliable 2011 Tundra and 2017 Nissan Titan XD with a Cummings diesel. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Firstly, it's important to take online car reviews with a grain of salt. Many of them are biased and lack credibility. For example, some reports claim that the F150 is a better truck than the Chevy 1500, while also acknowledging that the Chevy is more reliable. This doesn't make sense. If you're looking for a truck that's reliable and gets the job done, Chevy is a great choice. As the owner of a landscaping/tree company for 18 years, I can attest to the fact that Chevy trucks are built to last. They can withstand wear and tear and are still on the road today with over 300k miles. However, I recently test drove a Ford Transit van with the ecoboost 3.5 and was impressed with its power and torque. This led me to consider the F150, which has been praised for its towing capacity and comfortable ride. Unfortunately, my experience with the 2019 Max Tow 4x4 3.5 ecoboost was not great. The 10-speed transmission made for an unpleasant ride, and the interior was cramped and prone to staining. The plastic inside and out faded quickly, and the door handles fell off after just one trip through the carwash. Overall, I would recommend doing your own research and test driving multiple trucks before making a decision.The claimed gas mileage of 20 plus per gallon may be achievable if running premium 93 octane, with the transmission setting in 'eco mode', which can result in a sluggish and unresponsive ride, even for a truck. Otherwise, the average MPG is around 16 to 17 miles per gallon with the 3.5. While the truck has the capability of pulling 12k, it is important to note that a small camper (6k) is too much payload for the truck and can cause the rear end to sink and steering to become very squirrely. Additionally, towing will put you at 6 to 7 miles to the gallon. However, this truck is a great choice for the homeowner who drives to and from the grocery store and occasionally visits Home Depot for some plywood. It is important to keep in mind that the all-aluminum construction may result in an irreparable vehicle with just a small fender bender, according to some body shops. The F150 is a reliable vehicle, but it may not be the best choice for everyone. I have since made my own decision on the Chevy 2500 custom 6.6 gas, even though car critics rate it at a 3. The Chevy 2500 CUSTOM is a great choice because it doesn't drive like a Corvette or have 25 buttons across the dash or the tons of useless technologies of these other wanna-be trucks on the market today. While it may have a lower MPG at 16mpg, it is important to note that the motor runs on regular gas (high octane not recommended), which is less than $2 a gallon. This truck will pull a house and is built to last! In conclusion, make your decision based on consumer reports like this one, not a bunch of whiny car critics that give biased reviews. I hope this helps someone avoid the mistake I made.

We recently had to replace my wife's '98 Explorer and we looked at several options including Ram, Chevy, Toyota, and Ford. Although my wife loved the Ram, unfortunately, it wasn't comfortable for her. Toyota seemed more interested in selling me the truck rather than helping my wife find the right fit. We almost went with Chevy, but the salesman didn't seem too interested in making a sale. It's a shame because the Chevy was a nice CrewCab 4x4 with a 6.0L engine. However, we ended up going with Ford since my wife really liked the seats, visibility, and overall feel of the truck. Even though I wasn't initially interested in buying a Ford, we decided to go with it since my wife is the buyer. The first 2k miles were okay, but we did experience some issues such as valve train tap in the 5.0, squealing from the belt tensioner, and poor gas mileage (no better than 18mpg). When we brought it in for its 7500 mile oil change, we asked the service department to look at these issues, but they dismissed them as normal. However, I know what a 5.0 should sound like since I have one in my car. Now with 11K miles on it, we're experiencing the clunking in the transmission that others have reported. Additionally, the Autostop/start feature is not very useful since there's no way to permanently disable it. We plan on taking it to a different service department for the next oil change to address these new issues. Overall, we're disappointed with our new $40k truck and will not be purchasing a Ford again.
