Chevrolet Camaro problems
The Chevrolet Camaro is a mid-size American automobile manufactured by Chevrolet, classified as a pony car. It first went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed to compete with the Ford Mustang. The Camaro shared its platform and major components with the Firebird, produced by General Motors' Pontiac division that was also introduced for 1967.
Four distinct generations of the Camaro were developed before production ended in 2002. The nameplate was revived on a concept car that evolved into the fifth-generation Camaro; production started on March 16, 2009.
The Camaro was discontinued at the end of the 2024 model year. Production ended in December 2023. However, Chevrolet has stated, "This is not the end of Camaro's story."

Chevrolet Camaro 2015
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-03
- Date Complaint: 2024-09-08
- VIN: 2G1FB1E36F9
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I have purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro and it has become obvious that there is an electrical issue that was not previously disclosed by the dealership. The radio and air conditioning shut off randomly while driving and it is accompanied by a loud popping sound. In addition, when pressing on the brake or using the right turn signal, the radio will also shut down completely, while the air conditioning is making a loud rumbling noise. This happens frequently and there is also a constant blinking in the lights on the front of the radio. This appears to be an electrical issue and the safety concerns are based on the premise that it can be reproduced by stepping on the brake or using the turn signal. Each of these need to be in proper working condition in order to be considered safe on the road. I am writing as after going to several shops thinking it was an issue with the radio itself, I was advised that this is a known issue with the Chevrolet Camaro. There are countless posts online with other Camaro owners complaining of the same symptoms and this defect should likely be included in a recall or repairs covered by the manufacturer. Please look into my concerns.

Chevrolet Camaro 2016
- Date Of Incident: 2024-04-08
- Date Complaint: 2024-08-26
- Fire: 1
- VIN: 1G1FH1R77G0
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE
- Summary: Before purchasing a 2016 camaro last year I took it to a Chevrolet dealership for a safety inspection with no safety concerns found and after purchasing it around 57,000 miles went to another Chevrolet dealership to diagnose any electrical concerns occurring with the car that I noticed. There was nothing found but I still noticed humming sound and let them know and they found no concerns whatsoever. The battery was replaced twice as over the course of the year the electricals decreased in power. I then notified my insurance there was an issue with the car drawing power and it would not start. Upon checking the trunk noticed water had gotten into and possibly damaged the trunk/rear fuse block. I went through my insurance to fix any body damage but no electricals were fixed based on the insurance representative declining to accept liability for the damage and upon return of my vehicle, the repair facility started the car against my wishes and the rear fuse block in the trunk sparked and caused a fire to start in the trunk that continued for about a minute or two. Upon taking it to Chevrolet this year again after this, I was charged $800 for them to not diagnose anything but to say the x-connectors were burned up in the incident as well (I said this previously as this started the fire as it carries the currents from the fuse block) and to say they cannot find the source of the water leak/entry or replace the fuse block as the x-connectors and harness for the car, the first parts needed to be repaired to establish power to the car, have been discontinued. For more details on the cause, effects, and repair steps necessary but not been able to completed by GM/Chevrolet please refer to this service bulletin that I noticed was raised after I purchased this car upon researching the issue MULTIPLE chevrolet dealerships, ignored, didn't notice, and now are saying cannot repair and should be followed up on: 18-NA-375. Car is at ~70,000 miles currently.

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission fluid needed to be flushed and refilled. The independent mechanic made the contact aware of Technical Service Bulletin Number: 18-NA-355. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was included in Technical Service Bulletin Number: 18-NA-355. The failure mileage was approximately 26,530.

The 1997 Camaro RS is a really reliable car. You won't have any problems with it, either mechanically or cosmetically. Just take good care of it and it will stay in great shape. I definitely recommend this Camaro.

Your car sounds amazing! It's impressive that it has lasted so long with only one repair needed. The transmission overhaul must have really made a difference, especially with the added horsepower. Your Z28 with the 5.7L vette engine sounds like a beast on the road. I can understand why you wouldn't want to trade it for anything else!

What a fantastic performance from these 60's muscle cars, such as the 427 Camaros of old, but with double the fuel economy and three times the amount of handling and features. The LS1 V8 aluminum block is a push rod legend with a lot of performance availability. These cars can really lay down the low end power, and with a good exhaust and air intake, 400 hp is not too far off for under half the price of expensive imports or the Vette. It's a blast to drive on back roads and drag strip launches on highway on-ramps.

If you're sensitive to noise and motion, you may want to consider other options before purchasing this car. Some drivers have reported hearing the sound of gasoline sloshing back and forth during starts and stops, which can be unsettling. While this issue has been documented on various blogs and chat sites, the dealership may suggest a different model car. It's important to note that GM has not yet recognized this problem. Some drivers have suggested that better internal baffling or sound deadening could help alleviate the issue. While turning up the radio is an option, many sports car enthusiasts prefer to listen to the engine. We understand the excitement of purchasing a new car, and we hope you find the right fit for you.

This is my first car and I absolutely love it! Despite being a V6, it has great get up and go, and it's really comfortable too. I've only had it for two weeks, but the previous owner had it since '99 and the AC still works great. The only downside is that it creaks a bit when I turn the wheel all the way in one direction, but that's not a big deal. Although some of the plastic on the inside is a bit cheap and was already broken when I got it, overall it's in great condition for a 9 year old car with 113,000 miles. I'm so happy with it!

The Camaro did not meet my expectations due to the lack of lumbar support and uncomfortable seats. However, it does run well. In comparison to other cars such as Infiniti and Nissan, the Camaro falls short in terms of ride comfort and handling. As a 5'7

The blend door is a relatively inexpensive piece of plastic, but unfortunately, the dealership quoted me $1900 for the repair. They explained that the entire dash and even the windshield need to be removed to prevent leaks, and they recommended purchasing a new windshield. It's frustrating to have to spend so much money on what seems like a small issue, especially in my dream car. Overall, I'm disappointed with Chevy.

Vehicle year: 2015
The 2015 Camaro is a stunning car that looks like it's come straight out of a cartoon. With a powerful 6-cylinder engine that boasts 323 horsepower, this car has no trouble overtaking on dry roads. While the interior is not ideal for families, it's perfect for bachelors and empty nesters. The cockpit is well laid out, and all the instruments and controls are easy to reach. The car is incredibly agile and powerful, making it perfect for highway driving. However, it's not suitable for city driving, especially in wet conditions. The car's back end can slip out, causing accidents. The P-Zero Nero tires are only good on straight and dry roads in warm weather. Overall, the 2015 Camaro is a great car for dry roads and summertime, but not for city driving or wet conditions. If you're looking for a car that can handle all types of weather and driving conditions, this may not be the best choice for you.I returned the car to Bill Pierre Chevrolet in Seattle, and they kindly allowed me to trade it in. What a relief! I am now driving a much safer car with front-wheel drive and back seats. I must have been in some kind of trance to have driven the dangerous and ego-centered Camaro. Now, I can move on with my life without worrying about anyone watching me. No more ego trips or sliding around corners. If you look at the face of the 2017 Camaro, it appears too aggressive and mean, like an animal. The new Camaros are too fat in the rear and too unstable with the default tires, unless you are on a closed track. However, they are not suitable for commuting to work.
