Chevrolet Camaro problems

The Chevrolet Camaro is a mid-size American automobile manufactured by Chevrolet, classified as a pony car. It first went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed to compete with the Ford Mustang. The Camaro shared its platform and major components with the Firebird, produced by General Motors' Pontiac division that was also introduced for 1967.
Four distinct generations of the Camaro were developed before production ended in 2002. The nameplate was revived on a concept car that evolved into the fifth-generation Camaro; production started on March 16, 2009.
The Camaro was discontinued at the end of the 2024 model year. Production ended in December 2023. However, Chevrolet has stated, "This is not the end of Camaro's story."

Chevrolet Camaro 2015
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-03
- Date Complaint: 2024-09-08
- VIN: 2G1FB1E36F9
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I have purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro and it has become obvious that there is an electrical issue that was not previously disclosed by the dealership. The radio and air conditioning shut off randomly while driving and it is accompanied by a loud popping sound. In addition, when pressing on the brake or using the right turn signal, the radio will also shut down completely, while the air conditioning is making a loud rumbling noise. This happens frequently and there is also a constant blinking in the lights on the front of the radio. This appears to be an electrical issue and the safety concerns are based on the premise that it can be reproduced by stepping on the brake or using the turn signal. Each of these need to be in proper working condition in order to be considered safe on the road. I am writing as after going to several shops thinking it was an issue with the radio itself, I was advised that this is a known issue with the Chevrolet Camaro. There are countless posts online with other Camaro owners complaining of the same symptoms and this defect should likely be included in a recall or repairs covered by the manufacturer. Please look into my concerns.

Chevrolet Camaro 2016
- Date Of Incident: 2024-04-08
- Date Complaint: 2024-08-26
- Fire: 1
- VIN: 1G1FH1R77G0
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE
- Summary: Before purchasing a 2016 camaro last year I took it to a Chevrolet dealership for a safety inspection with no safety concerns found and after purchasing it around 57,000 miles went to another Chevrolet dealership to diagnose any electrical concerns occurring with the car that I noticed. There was nothing found but I still noticed humming sound and let them know and they found no concerns whatsoever. The battery was replaced twice as over the course of the year the electricals decreased in power. I then notified my insurance there was an issue with the car drawing power and it would not start. Upon checking the trunk noticed water had gotten into and possibly damaged the trunk/rear fuse block. I went through my insurance to fix any body damage but no electricals were fixed based on the insurance representative declining to accept liability for the damage and upon return of my vehicle, the repair facility started the car against my wishes and the rear fuse block in the trunk sparked and caused a fire to start in the trunk that continued for about a minute or two. Upon taking it to Chevrolet this year again after this, I was charged $800 for them to not diagnose anything but to say the x-connectors were burned up in the incident as well (I said this previously as this started the fire as it carries the currents from the fuse block) and to say they cannot find the source of the water leak/entry or replace the fuse block as the x-connectors and harness for the car, the first parts needed to be repaired to establish power to the car, have been discontinued. For more details on the cause, effects, and repair steps necessary but not been able to completed by GM/Chevrolet please refer to this service bulletin that I noticed was raised after I purchased this car upon researching the issue MULTIPLE chevrolet dealerships, ignored, didn't notice, and now are saying cannot repair and should be followed up on: 18-NA-375. Car is at ~70,000 miles currently.

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission fluid needed to be flushed and refilled. The independent mechanic made the contact aware of Technical Service Bulletin Number: 18-NA-355. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was included in Technical Service Bulletin Number: 18-NA-355. The failure mileage was approximately 26,530.

Last year, my wife and I purchased a used 1996 base model with a V-6. We often take it down to our parents' home in South Florida. Unfortunately, in the past three months, we've had to deal with a number of repairs. The voltage regulator cost us $350, the low beams went out and cost $60 to fix, and we had to replace the serpentine belt and water pump for $250. Two weeks ago, the fuel pump's check valve failed, and we had to replace the entire fuel module, which includes the pump, sending unit, and check valve. Chevy charged us $406 for the part alone, and by the way, the new Camaro has the fuel pump INSIDE the fuel tank. The labor cost was 4.9 hours, which brought the total to $847. However, we're grateful that Chevy provided a lifetime warranty for the repair.

Buy it, drive it, love it! This is the best sports car for the money, hands down. It performs better than cars costing twice as much and is absolutely a joy to drive. While I didn't buy it for the gas mileage, it's something you should consider if that's important to you. Overall, it's a great driver's car and you can't go wrong.

Vehicle year: 2019
I bought this car in March 2018 and I absolutely love every minute of driving it. Everything works great and the quality control is top-notch. I think the concerns about vision are overblown. If you use the rearview mirror and side mirrors properly, sight is not a problem at all. The convertible top works great, including the keyfob feature which lets you lower the top without being in the car. The remote start feature is also a huge plus! This car is so much fun to drive and it looks amazing. I feel that it is a great value for the money and I would definitely buy it again after using it for 4 months! If you're thinking about buying one, I highly recommend it. You'll enjoy it and have a ton of fun!!! Edmunds asked me to update my review after owning this car for 9 months. I still feel a thrill every time I drive it, even with the top up for protection from New Jersey winters. It's a lot of fun and it looks super cool! Almost 2 years later, it's still lots of fun to drive and has performed great. 4 years later, I still love her and she performs great. I haven't had to do any maintenance other than oil changes and tire rotation.

Hi there! I'm a 28-year-old single person who was looking for a fun car to drive, and that's exactly what I found! I know some people have concerns about the visibility and trunk opening, but those things weren't really a big deal for me when I decided to buy this car. The only thing I'm a bit worried about is the fuel economy, but I knew that going in. So far, I've put 400 miles on the car and used 2 tanks of gas on a 19-gallon engine. I bought it with only 50 miles on it, so it was practically brand new! I did pay $37,800 plus TTL for the Red SS2 model, which comes loaded with a sunroof, navigation, and RS. Oh, and I should mention that I'm 6'2 and the car is a bit snug, but it's not too bad once you get used to it.

The 2010 2SS RS Camaro has been making loud and annoying clunking sounds when going over bumps or rivets in the pavement, which is a common issue among most 2010-2011 Camaros. Despite opening a case with GM, they have refused to fix the issue at this time. However, there are many Camaro owners who are experiencing the same problem, as can be seen in this forum link: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2648682#post2648682. It is important to be aware of this issue before purchasing the car.

This car has several flaws that I noticed immediately on my drive home from the dealership. I took the vehicle back for service the next day and was told that the car needed to be broken in. However, it is not normal for a car to have a clunky front end and steering wheel wobble even after being broken in. In my experience, the people servicing these vehicles are just as incompetent as those designing and building them. As an owner of 7 cars, I can confidently say that this one has the poorest quality and worst service. Although the engine and transmission are good, the rest of the car is junk. I strongly advise buyers to beware of this typical GM S-Box.

I've been driving my midnight blue Camaro for almost a year now, and it's been a great ride. I only drive 4 miles to work and back, so it's still in great condition with only 10,000 miles on it. However, I've noticed that the paint around the gills looks a bit rough, with some nicks that make it look like I've been through a paintball war. I'm planning to take it to the dealer next week to have them take a look, but I'm not sure if they'll be able to do anything about it. As someone who's a bit OCD about keeping my vehicles looking perfect, it's a bit disappointing to see it in this condition.

My nephew left his car with me when he went to Qatar for a year with the Army. It's a fun car to drive, handles great, and has good mileage. It's also a good-looking car. However, when I was preparing the car for his return by washing and waxing it, I noticed marks under the clear coat that wouldn't come off. I tried different waxes and even buffing with 3M Finesse, but unfortunately, the clear coat is ruined as far as I'm concerned. I've seen this same defect on my 1996 Intrepid and my 2003 Dodge Ram. It seems like the good old boys at Detroit are using cheap materials. In contrast, my 2002 Honda (which has 296,000 miles) sits in the same driveway and does not have these issues. It's disappointing that taxpayers gave GM $10 billion to produce subpar products. Let's hope they improve their quality control in the future!

This car has had a few issues with the paint job and some of its parts, such as the window motors, headlight knob, alternator, batteries, EGR valve, fuel cell, rear end, speedometer, dash wiring, computer chip, and fuel pressure regulator. The spoiler on the front end has also needed to be replaced a few times due to the car sitting low and breaking easily over bumps. Despite these challenges, the car has only clocked 72,000 miles.
