The Toyota Corolla (Japanese: トヨタ・カローラ, Hepburn: Toyota Karōra) is a series of compact cars (formerly subcompact) manufactured and marketed globally by the Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation. Introduced in 1966, the Corolla was the best-selling car worldwide by 1974 and has been one of the best-selling cars in the world since then. The name Corolla is part of Toyota's naming tradition of using names derived from the Toyota Crown for sedans, with "corolla" Latin for "small crown". The Corolla has always been exclusive in Japan to Toyota Corolla Store locations, and manufactured in Japan with a twin, called the Toyota Sprinter until 2000. From 2006 to 2018 in Japan and much of the world, and from 2018 to 2020 in Taiwan, the hatchback companion had been called the Toyota Auris.
Early models were mostly rear-wheel drive, while later models have been front-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive versions have also been produced, and it has undergone several major redesigns. The Corolla's traditional competitors have been the Nissan Sunny, introduced the same year as the Corolla in Japan and the later Nissan Sentra, Nissan Sylphy, Honda Civic and Mitsubishi Lancer. The Corolla's chassis designation code is "E", as described in Toyota's chassis and engine codes.

- Summary: Apparently my car's Engine Coolant Bypass Valve is broken and it's a common case with my car's model that's made after 2020. Seems like it there's a need a recall for such a thing since it's a defective part they knew about since my car was screaming at me for an engine maintenance. However, the check engine wasn't on. I went to Toyota at Elk Grove, CA and knew what the issue was pretty quick and charging me $700 to get it replaced. I feel like it's intentionally being handled poorly so they keep charging me 700 every few years to replace a $80 part. As well my story is very common with other customers of Toyota Cars made after 2020. I wanted to report this since that's potentially harmful to put out a car that could have engine problems easily. Especially it's a fairly newer car. Also, they have yet to replace the part for the known recall on this vehicle.

- Summary: The AC compressor is failing as it’s blowing hot air at idle or when the vehicle is running at 20-40mph. During Texas hot summers, baby & toddlers are at risk for extreme heat as the AC blows hot/warm air. The problem has been reproduce at an automotive AC shop where they have inspected the AC for leaks, vacuumed refrigerant and replaced refrigerant. Still same issues without any leaks. Police or insurance has not been involved. There are no dash lights when this happens and the issue happens daily which started 3 years ago. The vehicle is driven less because of the issue. There is a TSB T-SB-0086-14 that says this is covered within 36k mile warranty or 3 years. I bought the vehicle with 48K miles and about 2 years later the AC blows hot air at idle.

- Summary: I was in a car accident .A woman failed to yield at a stop sign and rammed into the front of my car at a high accelerated speed. I was restrained but the right side of my forehead hit the rearview mirror .causing two huge knots on my head. My eye glasses also smashed into my right eye and I had a cut above my eye .I was thrown to the right passenger seat area , my right hip hit the gear shift and my knees and hip , were bruised. Apparently the seatbelt failed as well , but my main complaint is that the airbags failed to deploy. I suffered damage strain and bruising to both hands, the left was worse , I was made to wear a brace . I was taken to the ER via ambulance . One of the officers assumed I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt , which was not true at all . He thought I hit the windshield but I did not , it was the mirror . I have proof , photos and all EMT and ER records report that I was restrained . A paramedic helped me remove the seatbelt to exit my car . I feel I wouldn't have suffered the head, eye and other injuries if the airbag had deployed.

- Summary: This is an issue I have noticed with my car shortly after I bought it. The problem is that the car has a noticable delay in acceleration when accelerating from a complete stop. After doing some research online, I found that the cause was the car's CVT transmission, and that a delay in acceleration happens with other cars with CVT transmissions as well. This could be potentially dangerous especially when making right turns on a red light or when making unprotected lefts on a green, as the window of opportunity to go is sometimes short in those situations, and delaying for even a second could mean the difference between a collision or a safe turn (especially since there are some fast drivers that go much past the speed limit and will appear from behind a hill all of a sudden). What is especially problematic is that the car will rarely accelerate normally when I press the pedal, but I would say around 80-90% of the time, the car will have a delay about 1 second before it actually starts moving. To my knowledge, this problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. I bought the car brand-new about half a year ago so it shouldn't have any problems. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone, and there were no warning lights or any other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I didn't really notice that this car had this problem when I first drove it home from the dealership because I was not used to so many other aspects of the car, but after I got more used to driving it, I realized that the delay in acceleration wasn't normal.

This car is designed to be economical and it does exactly that! While it may not provide the most comfortable seating for long trips, it's perfect for around town driving and sipping on fuel. The steering is surprisingly tight and handles corners gracefully. It's a great car for city life and perfect for children, especially for trips less than an hour. Please note that it may not have the quickest acceleration, so patience is key in traffic. Additionally, the horn may not be the most impressive, so let's avoid road rage and enjoy the ride! Overall, my family loved the car's fuel conservation and cute style. Thank you for the opportunity to review it!

It's great to hear that your kids are all grown up now and you were able to find a reliable commuter car with good gas mileage for work. The S model with appearance and sport package looks really nice for the price, especially with the heated mirrors, sunroof, climate control, stitching, bigger rims & tires and nav. It's amazing that you were able to get such a good deal on a 2014 model. Although it may not be the most powerful car and the interior fit and finish is old school, it's still a great value for the price. It's impressive that you've had zero issues with the car after 40k miles, just oil changes and tire rotations. Even the tires still have a good 25k of tread left! It's clear that you knew exactly what you were getting when you purchased it and it has fully lived up to your expectations. I would definitely recommend it, just keep in mind that there may not be much refinement in this model. It's great to hear that you've had no problems or issues at all after 50k miles, and that you've been able to keep it looking new with regular waxing and cleaning. Although the gas mileage has dropped to 27 mpg average, it's still impressive. It's understandable that you've noticed some interior noise on certain surfaces, but it's great that you've been able to keep the car in such good condition. It's good to hear that you've had no reliability issues at all after 66k miles, even with the new tires. Although the gas mileage has dropped to 25 mpg, it's still a great car that looks good and handles great.

I have owned two Corollas in the past, one of which lasted an impressive 17 and a half years with 274,000 miles on the clock and it is still running! While I am generally pleased with my new Corolla L, I have noticed a few minor inconveniences. For example, the locking button is somewhat hidden behind the door handle and is quite small, making it awkward to locate and push. Additionally, there is no longer a little storage space on the inside door where I used to keep small items that I could easily reach while driving. I also miss the storage space near the mirror control button, which was another convenient spot for my small items. I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share my experience with my car. I've never had much luck with cars in the past, so when a friend offered to sell me their car, I was a bit hesitant. However, this car has turned out to be my absolute favorite out of all the cars I've owned (and there have been quite a few!). The mileage is fantastic, and I haven't had any major issues with it. While it would have been nice to have cruise control, it's not a necessity for me. If I ever come across another car like this, I would definitely consider buying it again.

I recently sold my 96 Toyota and I already miss it dearly. It was an incredibly dependable car, and I even drove it all the way to Arizona and back. Over the 11 years that I owned it, I only had two problems with it. One was an issue with the electrical wiring, and the other was a punctured gas tank. However, once these repairs were made, it was back to its reliable self. When I placed an ad to sell it, I received numerous calls and sold it within 4 hours for only $200 less than the asking price. If you're in need of a reliable car, this is definitely the one for you! Don't hesitate to make the purchase. Unfortunately, my family has grown too big for the car, but I still wish I could have kept it.

I bought a Corolla because of its reliability and good reputation, and I was initially thrilled with everything about this car. Unfortunately, my dream car turned into a nightmare just 3 weeks after purchase. While stopped at a red light, an error message popped up on the dash saying 'Charging System Malfunction'. I thought it was just an issue with my GPS, which was plugged into the outlet, so I unplugged it. Then another message popped up, this time saying 'Oil pressure low', followed by messages saying to consult my owner's manual and to take the car in for service. I was at an intersection and tried to turn onto a side road, only to find I had no accelerator power. I was slamming on the gas trying to move, and I was only able to do so because I was going downhill. Thankfully, two good samaritans helped push me to safety. However, to my horror, I had NO brakes while the car was in neutral. I had to shift the car into park and lurch to a stop. One of the guys who helped suggested turning off and restarting the car, and sure enough the error messages went away. Still, I had it towed to the dealership, after dealing with Toyota Care and waiting 2 hours for the tow truck to get there. To condense this novel, the car threw no error codes when service checked it, and they're maintaining that nothing is wrong with the car. I've had to open a case with Toyota and I honestly can't believe what a horrible experience the whole thing has been. More effort has been put into attacking my credibility and denying what happened than it has in actually fixing what's obviously a major issue. For a brand new car to malfunction and impede my ability to control it is unacceptable, and I will not be driving it again. I really hope I was just sold a lemon and that no other owners experience these issues, but I will NEVER buy a Toyota again. I highly recommend taking your business to a manufacturer that stands behind their products.

Perhaps I got a dud but I was disappointed. Despite keeping up with all maintenance, the transmission, shocks, gasket, and alternator all failed at 194k miles. While it is unusual for a Toyota to experience transmission and engine problems at this mileage, I still believe that Toyota is a better choice than Ford or Dodge. On the bright side, the car did get great gas mileage and maintenance was affordable.

I recently had the pleasure of driving a 2023 Toyota Corolla LE for three weeks, which had only 12,300 miles on it. While the car had some areas for improvement, such as a loud engine and a thin, slippery steering wheel, it was still a reliable and enjoyable ride. The seats could have used more support, but they were still comfortable enough for daily use. Although the car had some hard plastics and thin sharp metal, it was still a great value for its price. The stock base sound system was not the best, but thankfully, the car supported Apple CarPlay, which made it easy to listen to music. While the screen could have been better, it was still functional and easy to use. It would have been nice to have some additional safety features, such as dimming mirrors and heated exterior mirrors, but overall, the car was still a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable vehicle.
