The Toyota Corolla (Japanese: トヨタ・カローラ, Hepburn: Toyota Karōra) is a series of compact cars (formerly subcompact) manufactured and marketed globally by the Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation. Introduced in 1966, the Corolla was the best-selling car worldwide by 1974 and has been one of the best-selling cars in the world since then. The name Corolla is part of Toyota's naming tradition of using names derived from the Toyota Crown for sedans, with "corolla" Latin for "small crown". The Corolla has always been exclusive in Japan to Toyota Corolla Store locations, and manufactured in Japan with a twin, called the Toyota Sprinter until 2000. From 2006 to 2018 in Japan and much of the world, and from 2018 to 2020 in Taiwan, the hatchback companion had been called the Toyota Auris.
Early models were mostly rear-wheel drive, while later models have been front-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive versions have also been produced, and it has undergone several major redesigns. The Corolla's traditional competitors have been the Nissan Sunny, introduced the same year as the Corolla in Japan and the later Nissan Sentra, Nissan Sylphy, Honda Civic and Mitsubishi Lancer. The Corolla's chassis designation code is "E", as described in Toyota's chassis and engine codes.

- Summary: Apparently my car's Engine Coolant Bypass Valve is broken and it's a common case with my car's model that's made after 2020. Seems like it there's a need a recall for such a thing since it's a defective part they knew about since my car was screaming at me for an engine maintenance. However, the check engine wasn't on. I went to Toyota at Elk Grove, CA and knew what the issue was pretty quick and charging me $700 to get it replaced. I feel like it's intentionally being handled poorly so they keep charging me 700 every few years to replace a $80 part. As well my story is very common with other customers of Toyota Cars made after 2020. I wanted to report this since that's potentially harmful to put out a car that could have engine problems easily. Especially it's a fairly newer car. Also, they have yet to replace the part for the known recall on this vehicle.

- Summary: The AC compressor is failing as it’s blowing hot air at idle or when the vehicle is running at 20-40mph. During Texas hot summers, baby & toddlers are at risk for extreme heat as the AC blows hot/warm air. The problem has been reproduce at an automotive AC shop where they have inspected the AC for leaks, vacuumed refrigerant and replaced refrigerant. Still same issues without any leaks. Police or insurance has not been involved. There are no dash lights when this happens and the issue happens daily which started 3 years ago. The vehicle is driven less because of the issue. There is a TSB T-SB-0086-14 that says this is covered within 36k mile warranty or 3 years. I bought the vehicle with 48K miles and about 2 years later the AC blows hot air at idle.

- Summary: I was in a car accident .A woman failed to yield at a stop sign and rammed into the front of my car at a high accelerated speed. I was restrained but the right side of my forehead hit the rearview mirror .causing two huge knots on my head. My eye glasses also smashed into my right eye and I had a cut above my eye .I was thrown to the right passenger seat area , my right hip hit the gear shift and my knees and hip , were bruised. Apparently the seatbelt failed as well , but my main complaint is that the airbags failed to deploy. I suffered damage strain and bruising to both hands, the left was worse , I was made to wear a brace . I was taken to the ER via ambulance . One of the officers assumed I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt , which was not true at all . He thought I hit the windshield but I did not , it was the mirror . I have proof , photos and all EMT and ER records report that I was restrained . A paramedic helped me remove the seatbelt to exit my car . I feel I wouldn't have suffered the head, eye and other injuries if the airbag had deployed.

- Summary: This is an issue I have noticed with my car shortly after I bought it. The problem is that the car has a noticable delay in acceleration when accelerating from a complete stop. After doing some research online, I found that the cause was the car's CVT transmission, and that a delay in acceleration happens with other cars with CVT transmissions as well. This could be potentially dangerous especially when making right turns on a red light or when making unprotected lefts on a green, as the window of opportunity to go is sometimes short in those situations, and delaying for even a second could mean the difference between a collision or a safe turn (especially since there are some fast drivers that go much past the speed limit and will appear from behind a hill all of a sudden). What is especially problematic is that the car will rarely accelerate normally when I press the pedal, but I would say around 80-90% of the time, the car will have a delay about 1 second before it actually starts moving. To my knowledge, this problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. I bought the car brand-new about half a year ago so it shouldn't have any problems. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone, and there were no warning lights or any other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I didn't really notice that this car had this problem when I first drove it home from the dealership because I was not used to so many other aspects of the car, but after I got more used to driving it, I realized that the delay in acceleration wasn't normal.

Vehicle year: 2020
Ample leg and head room. The car is stylish, inexpensive, and has great gas mileage. It also has good visibility and lots of safety features. However, there are some negatives to consider. The road noise can be a bit distracting, and the touch screen is slow and should be angled more towards the driver. Additionally, the automatic parking brake release can be abrupt or jerky, which can be a bit disconcerting. Overall, though, this car is a good value and I would definitely consider buying it again.

I recently purchased the Corolla SE with a 6-speed manual transmission. I opted for the manual because I didn't enjoy the way the automatic CVT transmission drove. In contrast, the manual version feels like a completely different car. I've only had it for a week, but I already love it. If I were to rate the CVT transmission, I would give it 2 to 3 stars. The only issue I've noticed is with the passenger side pull handle in the roof pillar.

When I was car shopping, I did a lot of research on different Makes and Models before making a decision. I didn't want to make an impulsive purchase, especially since it's a lot of money. After test driving a Ford Fiesta, Honda Accord, and even a MINI Cooper, I ultimately decided on a Toyota. I found a 2006 Corolla with only 47,500 miles and bought it because of Toyota's reputation for reliability and dependability. Although it was a bit pricey, it holds its value very well. The acceleration is decent for a 1.8Liter, and the fuel economy is superb, especially with my driving habits. I enjoy seeing how much I can squeeze out of a tank, and I've even gotten as much as 44mpg. Yes, 44! But I did have a strong tail-wind and no grade for nearly 100 miles on a lonely S. Calif desert road.

Your 2004 Toyota Corolla sounds like an amazing car! It had 180,000 miles on it and still ran perfectly smooth. You have no complaints at all about the car. You were in a horrible head-on collision last week in your Corolla and walked away with minor bruises! Even the police officers at the scene commented on what a good job the car did protecting you. You couldn't be happier with your little car and you miss it already. You highly recommend one if someone needs a dependable small car that gets decent gas mileage and won't leave them stranded. It averaged 28 miles to the gallon, and it never needed any major repairs.

I'm also happy to hear that you've been enjoying the XM radio and Bluetooth features. It's a shame that the original Goodyear tires didn't work out, but it sounds like the Toyo tires have been a great replacement. The Barcelona red and S package definitely give the car a sporty look. I recently drove a new 2018 LE Corolla for 750 miles and found it to be a decent car for running errands. However, I did notice that the car struggled with acceleration and highway driving in hilly or mountainous areas. The engine also produced a lot of noise when accelerating, which could be a bit bothersome. Additionally, the car was slow to get going from a stop, but once the engine spooled up, it was able to pick up speed. I also noticed that when driving at 60 mph with cruise control on, the car would speed up to about 65 mph downhill, but then the CVT would downshift and the engine would rev up to 4,500 rpm to slow the car down, which was quite noisy. Unfortunately, the transmission only has three positions (D, S, and B), and there is no way to have any other control over it. I believe that a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission would have made this car a much better option for those looking for an economy car. Lastly, I found the rear window visibility to be troubling due to the fixed headrests on both sides of the vehicle and an adjustable one in the center, which restricted visibility when making quick lane changes. Overall, the car has some design flaws, but it is still a decent option for running errands.

The Toyota Corolla may not be the fastest car out there, but it's definitely powerful enough for daily city drives and occasional holiday outings. It's more of a touring car than a racer or a rally car, but the steering is superb with fine cornering abilities. While the engine power may be a small let down, it still manages to deliver a city driven mileage of 9.86 kmpl and a highway driven mileage of 11.0 kmpl. Overall, the Toyota Corolla is a reliable and efficient car that can get you where you need to go with ease.

It's a beautiful car, but unfortunately, Toyota seems to have prioritized price over quality. The rattling can be quite distracting while driving, and even the mid-level stereo speakers can't quite drown it out. I've considered trading it in, but the Toyota dealers have been upfront about their pricing policies, which has unfortunately led to a decline in my trust in the Toyota corporation.

My experience with my Corolla has been a bit frustrating. Unfortunately, after only 40 days of owning it, the fuel pump stopped working. Since my car was made in Japan, the replacement fuel pump will cost over $800, which is significantly more expensive than if it had been made in North America. I'm left wondering why Toyota would make this decision and how it affects their customers. Currently, my car is still in the shop and I'm unsure of what to do next. It's worth noting that if the VIN starts with J, it means the car was made in Japan, so it's something to consider when making a purchase.

I purchased this car used with 18000 miles on it just over a year ago. My daily commute is 18 miles, with about 3/4 of the distance being on the interstate and highway, including some decent sized hills. I am very pleased with the average of 30 mpg. However, the headlights get dirty easily in snowy conditions, which can make it difficult to see. I have to clean them almost daily when the roads are wet, which is a bit of a hassle. The cabin can be quite noisy, and the car doesn't handle well on snow and slush, despite my experience driving in these conditions. Additionally, there are two small spots on the trunk that are rusting, which is a bit disappointing. Overall, I have mixed feelings about the car, but the fuel efficiency is definitely a plus.
