THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT SINCE DURING THE 46 YEARS I LIVED IN THE SAME HOME AND OWNED MANY CARS INCLUDING 2 TOYOTA CAMRY, VW RABBIT, MUSTANG, PORSCHE, MERCURY SABLE , 2 CADILLACS, 3 BUICKS AND I HAD NO PROBLEM OF ANY OF THESE CARS SCOPING GROUND AND LOOSING A FENDER. - Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Corolla, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid, Lexus ES350, Lexus RX350, Lexus RX450H, 2021 Sienna Hybrid, Lexus ES250, 2020-2022 Camry, Camry Hybrid, and ES300H vehicles. A short circuit may develop in the Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensor, preventing the front passenger air bag from deploying.
- Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy during a crash increases the risk of injury.
- Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the sensor as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed February 2, 2024. A second notice will be mailed once the remedy is available. Multiple phases are planned through 2026. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Owners of specific models were notified that remedy parts were available starting January 21, 2021. Owners of other models will be notified as remedy parts become available. Remedy parts should be available for all affected vehicles by late March 2021. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. I am 61 years old and have been driving for 45 years. During that time, I have owned over 20 cars. Recently, I took delivery of a Corolla SE upgrade package and I must say, it is absolutely terrific! The acceleration is brisk, the comfort is excellent, and I am confident that the reliability will be off the charts. Even the fuel economy exceeds the manufacturer's claims! The Safety Sense feature is excellent and easy to understand. I am extremely happy with my choice and would highly recommend this car to my friends and family.

I cannot recommend this car at all. Despite its attractive appearance, my experience with it has been nothing but frustrating. I leased a 2020 model in September 2019, and everything was fine until June when the car suddenly died while I was waiting at a stop light. Despite my attempts to restart it, it took 20 minutes before it finally turned back on. I brought it to the dealer, but they were unable to find any issues. The same thing happened again the next month, and then again in September when the car died while I was pulling into a driveway. Each time, the dealer was unable to find any problems. As someone who frequently drives on the highway, I am now extremely nervous that the car will suddenly stop and cause an accident. I have two more years left on my lease, but I will never buy or recommend a Toyota again.

You can feel a dime if you run over it. It's a very noisy ride and there's no place to put anything. However, if you're buying, I recommend taking it for a long drive to get a better feel for it. On my first trip, the road noise was so bad that I turned around after 60 miles and went home to take my other car.

I have been a fan of Toyota for a long time, especially the Corolla. I recently upgraded from a 2016 model to a 2020 model. However, I have noticed that the materials used in the 2020 model are not as durable as I had hoped. They scratch easily and dent easily. Additionally, I was disappointed to find out that the 2020 Corolla does not have Android Auto, which is a feature that many other cars have had for a few years now. I have found the Entune and Scout systems to be a bit confusing, as I have to connect my phone with both a cable and Bluetooth, and my LG G5 phone keeps crashing. Overall, I still enjoy driving my Corolla, but I hope Toyota will make some improvements in the future.
