The Toyota Corolla (Japanese: トヨタ・カローラ, Hepburn: Toyota Karōra) is a series of compact cars (formerly subcompact) manufactured and marketed globally by the Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation. Introduced in 1966, the Corolla was the best-selling car worldwide by 1974 and has been one of the best-selling cars in the world since then. In 1997, the Corolla became the best-selling nameplate in the world, surpassing the Volkswagen Beetle. Toyota reached the milestone of 50 million Corollas sold over twelve generations in 2021.

The name Corolla is part of Toyota's naming tradition of using names derived from the Toyota Crown for sedans, with "corolla" Latin for "small crown". The Corolla has always been exclusive in Japan to Toyota Corolla Store locations, and manufactured in Japan with a twin, called the Toyota Sprinter until 2000. From 2006 to 2018 in Japan and much of the world, and from 2018 to 2020 in Taiwan, the hatchback companion had been called the Toyota Auris.

Early models were mostly rear-wheel drive, while later models have been front-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive versions have also been produced, and it has undergone several major redesigns. The Corolla's traditional competitors have been the Nissan Sunny, introduced the same year as the Corolla in Japan and the later Nissan Sentra, Nissan Sylphy, Honda Civic and Mitsubishi Lancer. The Corolla's chassis designation code is "E", as described in Toyota's chassis and engine codes.

Common 2009 Toyota Corolla problems

Based on the complaints from owners of the 2009 Toyota Corolla, several common problems have been identified:

  • Paint Defects: Owners have reported paint defects as a common issue with the 2009 Toyota Corolla. Failures in the curing process or exposure to excessive sunlight can lead to paint problems, requiring affected panels to be repainted at a significant cost of over $800 per panel. While this issue is more of an aesthetic concern, it can impact the vehicle's overall appearance and resale value.
  • Recalls: The 2009 Toyota Corolla has been subject to multiple recalls, including brake vacuum ports, accelerator pedals, power window switches, airbags, and seat heater wiring. One of the most serious recalls involved pedal problems that could lead to unintended acceleration, posing a safety risk to drivers and passengers. It is crucial for owners to address these recalls promptly to ensure the safety and reliability of their vehicles.
  • Instrument Panel Rattling: Some owners have reported a problem with the instrument panel rattling in cold weather conditions. While this issue may not affect the vehicle's performance, it can be annoying and impact the driving experience. Addressing this problem may require diagnostic testing and potentially replacing or repairing the affected components.
  • Wind Noise: Another common complaint is excessive wind noise generated from the front doors of the Toyota Corolla while driving at speed. This issue can be bothersome for drivers and passengers, affecting the overall comfort and quietness of the vehicle. Adjusting the alignment of the front doors may help reduce or eliminate this noise.
  • Steering Clunking: Owners have reported hearing clunking or popping noises from the steering of the Toyota Corolla, especially during low-speed maneuvers like parking. This issue can be disconcerting and may indicate underlying steering system problems that need to be addressed to ensure safe and smooth operation of the vehicle.

These common problems with the 2009 Toyota Corolla highlight the importance of regular maintenance, prompt repairs, and addressing recalls to ensure the longevity, safety, and reliability of the vehicle.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2024-02-05
  • VIN: 1NXBU40E09Z
  • Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
  • Summary: I purchased my car in March 2023. From the first week, it wouldn't start sometimes. Id wait 5 minutes, then it would start fine. I thought it was when it got wet, at first. I also had a certain part replaced air flow compressor, possibly was called?, thinking this would fix it. It did not. In fact, the problem seemed to be happening more and more but, always, if I waited 5 to 10 minutes, sometimes messed around under the hood, it would start. This was not very comforting however, when it would stall at a light and not start right back up. I took it to AutoZone and was run on the diagnostics machine. Was told it needed new spark plugs and ignition coil packs. Which I got and replaced. Still happening. I took back to AutoZone, had it run again on diagnostic. This time it said battery. So I had a new battery put in. Still happening. All along, might I add, my fuses will blow randomly, my headlights And taillights will blow for no reason. One taillightooks like it melted through the plastic before it decided to blow. I e replaced some fuses, only to have blown again. I also have replaced the light bulb in taillight, only to have blown twice more. This is very dangerous, especially at a traffic light or, late at night if I need to go somewhere or leave somewhere And it won't start. I've been stuck in the middle of the road, on the wring sidevif the riad, in the midfle if a snowstorm, with it not starting for me. Also, it was gett5really cold without heat and, I was nearly hit several times as i was also at the bottom of a steep hill when my car decided to stop sliding backwards and stall on me and would not restart. That was the most fearful I have been with this issue and with good reason! I now see several others having similar issues with their same exact car. Why isn't Toyota addressing this?

AIR BAGS PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2023-12-07
  • VIN: JTDBL40E99J
  • Components: AIR BAGS
  • Summary: I have been sent two different recalls on my cars airbags. I had one repaired. I do not know how to tell what repairs were were not done. They’ve all been marked as being done yet. Four years later less than four years later my airbag warning light is on. I’m concerned that supposedly the sensor was a rotating and warmer climate and then it was that it would propel shop objects and now I don’t have a recall, but I’ve had a light on, and of course, now other Toyotas of the same group that mine is usually in Corolla Tacoma on and on , I’m having a similar problem with the light being on and I’m very concerned that one are both of those airbags are not properly working. I’ve tried to explain to Toyota that I need to be able to identify and have problems fixed that are due to their manufacturing issues. my mats were never fixed by Toyota. I had to fix them myself. Having this repair investigated is going to cost me a lot of money and what I’m gonna find out. I bet is that other colors were recalled for it. What’s the likelihood that my car still has airbag issues , especially where all the recalls are marked is done and I know that I only had took it in once to have it fixed and that was for the sensor and I don’t even know how the parts the flying parts play into this. I hope you can find out if Ty should be expanding this recall, or if they’re just getting nailed with the recent ones Because there’s not enough 2009 Corolla on the road anymore to justify a recall .

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2022-05-21
  • Number Of Injuries: 1
  • Crash: 1
  • VIN: 1NXBU40E29Z
  • Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES
  • Summary: Vehicle speed control / sudden unintended acceleration. This was NOT a "misapplication of pedal" by driver! It was clearly a mechanical failure—apparently accelerator pedal (not floor mat, which was secured on its pegs). NO warning lamp, msg, symptom prior to crash. Afterward, saw NHTSA rpts others FIXED speed control issue & same prob STILL recurred! My VIN wasn't listed as unrepaired (likely the original owner repaired recall issue/s)—yet car was still dangerous! At slow speed, approx 1-2 mph, I was entering my garage in usual way, turning R. Car abruptly sped up uncontrollably (self-accelerated); couldn't stop it! Crashed thru garage doorpost & wall, then backyard fence. Lucky I'm alive & no one in yard. VERY traumatic! Physical injury (neck/back) helped by ibuprofen. FWIW air bag didn't deploy. AAA said they'd only tow for repair, not inspection. I wasn't going to repair; I'd NEVER trust driving that car again & wouldn't sell to ANYONE to drive, due to grave concern same issue'd recur! Available for inspection at PickNPull, Moss Landing, CA. PnP corp agreed they'd haul away ONLY for its OTHER parts—order taker understood it had UNTRUSTED accelerator pedal / vehicle speed control. They also promised me they wouldn't let anyone drive it! Of 2009 Corolla NHTSA's 1,523 rpts, "vehicle speed control" is 3rd highest, far > nearly all other rpts. Below, a few of MANY related examples. (Note: dates may be either report or incident dates.) 10/26/21 NHTSA #11438174; 5/31/17 #10992371; 7/16/16 #10885246 ("CAR WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL...STILL AN ISSUE WITH UNINTENDED ACCELERATION.); 6/3/16, #10872355; 10/2/14 #10640760 ("VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT FAILURE RECURRED"); 9/30/14 #10640098; 9/25/14 #10639073; 11/16/13 #10552563; 3/4/12 #10450183; 2/10/12 #10450183 ("ALREADY HAD ALL OF TOYOTA'S "RECALL" REMEDIES";) 1/29/12 #10447756; 6/22/10 #10343426 (recall work had been done); 6/23/10 #10340943 (work had been done); 6/6/10 #10339969; 5/18/10 #10330952.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2021-10-05
  • VIN: 1nxbu40e29z
  • Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
  • Summary: My 2009 Toyota Corolla is once again exhibiting undesired acceleration. Toyota has deemed this vehicle repaired in response to the recall that covered this issue. I was told it was caused by the floormat which it obviously was not. The accelerator pedal sticks and they will not fix it under the previous recall. Is there any steps I can take to get this situation resolved? I was told the car is no longer under warranty so any repairs regarding this issue would be put on me.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2021-02-01
  • VIN: 1NXBU40E79Z
  • Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
  • Summary: I have had my 2009 Toyota Corolla since day 1. I seen another post in here that is having the same issue as myself. I have had to replace my battery 3 times all because the “wiring harness” on this vehicle is faulty. Toyota knew about this beforehand. As customers we put our trust and faith in these big corporations to do the right thing when making these vehicles. We, as customers, shouldn’t have to purchase and pay for labor when all while Toyota was aware of the faulty wiring harness. This causes more issues than 1 because it controls everything inside and outside of your car.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2021-05-14
  • VIN: 1NXBU40E09Z
  • Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
  • Summary: My Toyota power door lock actuators continue to fail, even after multiple replacements. The failure mode starts as intermittent operation, often leaving doors unlocked when using the electronic locking system. Eventually the door lock actuator fails to respond at all. The intermittent nature of the failure onset puts consumers at risk for not realizing the system left their car unlocked, providing an opportunity for someone to enter the vehicle and wait in the car for vehicle owner to return or to have things stolen from the vehicle. Based on the repeated failures, the actuator design or manufacturing process is clearly defective. The repeated actuator failures requires the customer to be vigilant for failures and the pay for replacement, several hundreds of dollars each time, out of their own pocket since Toyota refuses to acknowledge an egregious failure rate on their power door lock mechanisms. Cynical observers may note that the failures generate a regular revenue stream for Toyota service departments. Thank you for your time.

2019-10-17
  • Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
  • Components: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
  • Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2010-2016 4Runner, 2003-2006 Tundra, 2003-2013 Corolla, 2009-2010 Corolla Matrix, 2004-2005 RAV4, 2002-2007 Sequoia, 2011-2013 Sienna, 2008-2012 Scion xB, 2008-2009 Lexus IS-F, 2007-2012 Yaris and Lexus ES350, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2002-2010 Lexus SC430, 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 and 2010-2015 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles. These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
  • Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
  • Remedy: Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front driver inflator, front passenger airbag inflator, the airbag assembly, or the front passenger airbag sub-assembly and inflator. The recall began November 20, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are J0A, J0B, and J0C. Lexus' numbers for this recall are JLI, JLJ, and JLK.

  • Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
  • Components: VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS
  • Summary: Toyota Motor Company (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2009-2011 Tundra, Sequoia, Corolla, Corolla Matrix and Scion xB, 2008-2011 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, 2007 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2006-2011 RAV4, 2006-2010 Yaris, and 2009-2010 Scion xD and Pontiac Vibe vehicles. During the manufacturing of the Power Window Master Switch (PWMS), grease lubricant may have been inconsistently applied to the sliding electrical contacts.
  • Consequence: If the sliding electrical contacts are not protected by lubricant, debris and moisture that get into the switch may cause a short circuit and the switch assembly may overheat and melt, increasing the risk of a fire.
  • Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the switch, applying a lubricant if no abnormality is found. If abnormality is found, the PWMS circuit board will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 20, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is C0M.
2014-04-09
  • Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
  • Components: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
  • Summary: Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006-2008 RAV4, 2006-2010 Yaris, 2008-2010 Highlander, and 2009-2010 Tacoma, Corolla, Corolla Matrix and General Motors Pontiac Vibe vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the steering column assembly contains electrical connections to the driver's airbag module housed in a spiral cable assembly, which includes a Flexible Flat Cable (FFC). Due to the shape and location of the FFC's retainer, the FFC could become damaged when the steering wheel is turned.
  • Consequence: If the FFC is damaged, connectivity to the driver's air bag module could be lost and the air bag deactivated. The failure of the driver's air bag to deploy in the event of a crash that typically necessitates deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver.
  • Remedy: Toyota will notify the Toyota vehicle owners, and General Motors will notify the Pontiac Vibe owners. Toyota sent owners an interim notification letter in May 2014 to advise owners of the recall. Toyota will mail owners a second letter when remedy parts are available. General Motors sent Pontiac Vibe owners an Interim letter on June 20, 2014 notifying them that parts are currently unavailable. General Motors sent notices to the Pontiac Vibe owners on September 15, 2014, that a remedy is available. The recall began on October 27, 2014. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331. Owners may contact General Motors at 1-800-762-2737.
2012-10-10
  • Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
  • Components: VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS
  • Summary: Toyota is recalling certain model year 2007-2009 Camry, Camry Hybrid, RAV4, Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Tundra, Sequoia, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Yaris, Scion xB, Scion xD and Pontiac Vibe vehicles. The power window master switch assemblies in some of these vehicles were built using a less precise process for lubricating the internal components of the switch assemblies. Irregularities in this lubrication process may cause the power window master switch assemblies to malfunction and overheat.
  • Consequence: If the switch overheats, it may melt, possibly resulting in a fire.
  • Remedy: Toyota will notify its owners, and dealers will inspect the switch and apply a special grease that inhibits heat build up or replace any switch damaged by the defect, free of charge. Toyota owners that experience a problem with a switch should not attempt to make repairs, but should contact their Toyota dealer or the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331. General Motors will contact the Pontiac Vibe owners affected by this recall and GM dealers will inspect and repair switches as necessary. Those owners may contact Pontiac Customer Care at 1-800-762-2737.

  • Manufacturer: TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC.
  • Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL
  • Summary: TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008-2010 HIGHLANDER, MODEL YEAR 2009-2010 COROLLA, VENZA AND MATRIX PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAN GET STUCK IN THE WIDE OPEN POSITION DUE TO ITS BEING TRAPPED BY AN UNSECURED OR INCOMPATIBLE DRIVER'S FLOOR MAT. THIS RECALL IS AN EXPANSION OF A CAMPAIGN OF 3.8 MILLION OTHER TOYOTA VEHICLES ANNOUNCED IN 2009 FOR THE SAME ISSUE (SEE 09V-388).
  • Consequence: A STUCK OPEN ACCELERATOR PEDAL MAY RESULT IN VERY HIGH VEHICLE SPEEDS AND MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE, WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH, SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
  • Remedy: TOYOTA WILL MODIFY OR REPLACE THE ACCELERATOR PEDALS ON THE SUBJECT VEHICLES. FLOOR SURFACE MODIFICATIONS ARE ALSO BEING CONSIDERED AND WILL BE INCLUDED FOR ANY MODEL FOR WHICH IT IS DEEMED APPROPRIATE. INITIALLY, DEALERS WILL BE INSTRUCTED ON HOW TO RESHAPE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FOR THE REPAIR. AS REPLACEMENT PARTS WITH THE SAME SHAPE AS THE MODIFIED PEDAL BECOME AVAILABLE, THEY WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE DEALERS FOR THE REPAIR. CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE HAD THE PEDAL RESHAPE REMEDY COMPLETED WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE A NEW PEDAL IF THEY DESIRE, AFTER REPLACEMENT PEDALS BECOME AVAILABLE. IN ADDITION, TOYOTA WILL REPLACE ANY TOYOTA ALL-WEATHER FLOOR MAT IN A SUBJECT VEHICLE WITH A NEWLY DESIGNED MAT, FREE OF CHARGE. FOR THOSE CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE THE PREVIOUS DESIGN ALL-WEATHER FLOOR MAT BUT DO NOT NEED OR WANT THE NEWLY DESIGNED ALL-WEATHER FLOOR MAT, TOYOTA WILL RECOVER THE PREVIOUS DESIGN ALL-WEATHER FLOOR MAT AND REIMBURSE ITS PRICE. • Manufacturer: TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC.
  • Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL
  • Summary: TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2010 AVALON, MODEL YEAR 2007-2010 CAMRY, MODEL YEAR 2009-2010 COROLLA, COROLLA MATRIX, RAV4, MODEL YEAR 2010 HIGHLANDER, MODEL YEAR 2008-2010 SEQUOIA, AND MODEL YEAR 2007-2010 TUNDRA VEHICLES. DUE TO THE MANNER IN WHICH THE FRICTION LEVER INTERACTS WITH THE SLIDING SURFACE OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL INSIDE THE PEDAL SENSOR ASSEMBLY, THE SLIDING SURFACE OF THE LEVER MAY BECOME SMOOTH DURING VEHICLE OPERATION. IN THIS CONDITION, IF CONDENSATION OCCURS ON THE SURFACE, AS MAY OCCUR FROM HEATER OPERATION (WITHOUT A/C) WHEN THE PEDAL ASSEMBLY IS COLD, THE FRICTION WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS OPERATED MAY INCREASE, WHICH MAY RESULT IN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECOMING HARDER TO DEPRESS, SLOWER TO RETURN, OR, IN THE WORST CASE, MECHANICALLY STUCK IN A PARTIALLY DEPRESSED POSITION.
  • Consequence: THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL MAY BECOME HARD TO DEPRESS, SLOW TO RETURN TO IDLE, OR, IN THE WORST CASE, MECHANICALLY STUCK IN A PARTIALLY DEPRESSED POSITION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
  • Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A REINFORCEMENT BAR IN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHICH WILL ALLOW THE PEDAL TO OPERATE SMOOTHLY. GM WILL NOTIFY OWNERS FOR THE PONTIAC VIBE PLEASE SEE 10V-018. Negative 2009 Toyota Corolla car reviews

  1. Tre Pouros 2024-09-27

I have owned two Toyotas and unfortunately, my latest purchase has not met my expectations. Despite my disappointment with the build quality, cheap parts, and overall value of the car, my biggest concern is the oil consumption. Despite the dealer's assurance that nothing is wrong, the car uses at least 1 quart of oil per week, which is a significant amount. Although other online reviews have pointed out the same issue, I have been able to manage the situation by visiting an instant oil change place weekly, which fortunately is free. However, I have noticed that the steering is not as responsive at high speeds. While I am a loyal Toyota customer, I am considering exploring other options such as Honda or Ford for my next vehicle.

  2. Louie Rohan 2024-09-06

I recently bought a 2009 Toyota Corolla S, but as a tall person standing at 6'3'', I'm finding a few things uncomfortable during my rides. The footrest for the left foot (driver's side) juts out, forcing me to bend my leg into an awkward position. Additionally, with the seat all the way back and at its lowest position, the weight of my legs falls on the heel of my foot, making my hour-long commute to and from work a bit uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I regret my purchase solely due to the comfort factor. However, everything else about the car is fine. I'm sure a shorter person would find it very comfortable, but it's just not the right fit for me.

  3. Murray Farrell 2024-08-11

My apologies to hear about your experience. It sounds like you've had a frustrating time with your Toyota. If you're considering purchasing a Toyota in the future, I would recommend adding an extended warranty to your purchase. I hope this helps!

  4. Cornelius Rodriguez 2024-06-15

This is my second Toyota Corolla and I have always loved Toyota. However, my recent experience with my 2009 model has been disappointing. Despite having only 56,000 miles, I have had to replace the A/C, cam shaft gear, and starter, and the car still has problems starting. The total cost of repairs under warranty has been over $9,000. I hope Toyota can improve the quality of their cars in the future.

  5. Stephan Feeney 2024-06-07

We purchased a 2009 Toyota Corolla LE on May 31, 2008. Despite experiencing some issues with the VSC Light flashing and the car spitting and sputtering around 3000 miles, we took it back to the dealer who replaced the Mass Air Flow Sensor and cleared the codes. However, the issue persisted and the car died for no reason at 4500 miles. The dealer has had the car for a week and has identified the problem as a faulty wiring harness, which they are in the process of replacing. We are confident that this will resolve the issue and are looking forward to enjoying our car without any further problems.

Positive 2009 Toyota Corolla car reviews

  1. Gregorio Bergnaum 2025-01-06

I still own my very first Toyota, a 2002 Corolla LE with 180,000 miles as of writing this review. Recently, I decided to buy a backup car and came across a used XLE with only 28,000 miles on it. The highway ride is comparable to that of a Camry due to its 16

  2. Willis Ward 2024-09-25

I recently traded in my beloved 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8 (loaded) due to a long commute. After considering several options such as Civic, Elantra, Focus, Fit and Yaris, my family and I decided on the Corolla S. I was initially hesitant about driving it, but to my surprise, it's actually quite enjoyable! The car looks great too, especially with the under and rear spoilers, alloy wheels, and sporty dark charcoal interior with blue accents (which is much more attractive than the standard ash or beige velour). We are getting an impressive 38.5 MPG average (60% hwy/40% city) and I don't even miss my Jeep! Overall, we are very happy with our choice!

  3. Filiberto Kirlin 2024-09-23

I've driven my car for 1,800 miles so far and I'm really happy with it. I'm getting over 35 mpg on average and over 40 mpg on the highway, which is great. I know some people have complained about the clock, but it doesn't bother me at all. I'm not a fan of electric steering boxes in any car, but I got used to this one after about a week and now I don't have any problems with it. I'm 6'4

  4. Llewellyn Koch 2024-09-22

This car is one of the most reliable cars on the market, and it's a Toyota! There's a reason why used cars are still expensive. I've had mine for 3 years and driven it from MN to FL with no problems. I recommend always putting full synthetic in your car, it's like your own human blood! It makes the car last super long. Despite what people say, I have never changed the transmission fluid. I have had the car from 130k miles to 200k miles and I haven't had to replace one thing on it. The only thing I have had to do is fix the heat shields over the transmission and the gas tank. Overall, it's a 10/10 for sure. However, if you're over 6 ft, I would not recommend this car as the steering wheel is somewhat centered to your right leg. Other than that, just enjoy the ride and keep your eyes on the road. You can always find one of these cars, even if it's 10+ years old!

  5. Russel Conn 2024-09-18

I bought my 2009 LE brand new in November 2008 with only 4 miles on the clock. It's now September 2022 and it still runs like a dream. I haven't had to add any oil, there are no leaks, and I've only needed to do regular maintenance. The paint has faded quite a bit and I've had to replace a few parts like the water pump, alternator, and suspension, but nothing major. I still use it as my daily driver and it still gets over 30 mpg, even when I'm driving 50 miles a day at an average speed of 70 mph. I have no complaints whatsoever! 😌
