- Summary: I was in a car accident .A woman failed to yield at a stop sign and rammed into the front of my car at a high accelerated speed. I was restrained but the right side of my forehead hit the rearview mirror .causing two huge knots on my head. My eye glasses also smashed into my right eye and I had a cut above my eye .I was thrown to the right passenger seat area , my right hip hit the gear shift and my knees and hip , were bruised. Apparently the seatbelt failed as well , but my main complaint is that the airbags failed to deploy. I suffered damage strain and bruising to both hands, the left was worse , I was made to wear a brace . I was taken to the ER via ambulance . One of the officers assumed I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt , which was not true at all . He thought I hit the windshield but I did not , it was the mirror . I have proof , photos and all EMT and ER records report that I was restrained . A paramedic helped me remove the seatbelt to exit my car . I feel I wouldn't have suffered the head, eye and other injuries if the airbag had deployed.

Police or insurance has not been involved. There are no dash lights when this happens and the issue happens daily which started 3 years ago. The vehicle is driven less because of the issue. There is a TSB T-SB-0086-14 that says this is covered within 36k mile warranty or 3 years. I bought the vehicle with 48K miles and about 2 years later the AC blows hot air at idle.

- Summary: On 11/30/2022 The CHECK light came on. After checking my Toyota manual it showed several reasons for the light. I called the Toyota Dealer (Bryan Easler, Hendersonville, NC) made an appointment for general service and inspection as to why the warning light came on. Was told the warning light was result of rodents chewing through the gas line causing fuel leak. This also happened about three years ago. Because the fuel system is all one piece it couldn't be repaired. I had to pay for a whole new fuel line system, second time I have had to pay for a whole new fuel system. There is no Toyota dealer my my area so I have to travel about forty miles for service. I am a very elderly half cripple woman long distance driving is tiring and dangerous for me, driving with a leaking gas line is dangerous for anyone. This is the second time I've dealt with this problem. There is something seriously wrong with a fuel line being exposed so animals can chew through it. It means I may have to replace it every time a rodent decides to dine on the fuel line. Where can I park and feel safe my gas line won't be destroyed? Not to mention all the other dangers a leaking fuel line can cause. It makes no sense why Toyota would manufacture such a disaster on any car.

During certain crashes, the air bag electronic control unit (ECU) may malfunction, possibly disabling the deployment of the air bags and/or seat belt pretensioners.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash, air bags and/or seat belt pretensioners that do not deploy as intended may increase the risk of injury.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ECU and install a noise filter between the air bag control module and its wire harness, as necessary, free of charge. Owners were notified of the safety risk beginning March 2, 2020. A second letter notifying owners of the remedy repair will be mailed between March 16, 2020 and June 27, 2020. I recently traded in my Chevrolet Sonic for this car, which my fiance and I share. I have the 'no regrets' model with the Entune system, navigation, moonroof, and keyless ignition. I've only had it for a few weeks, but I can already say that I really like it. What initially drew me to this car was the incredible number of features it offers for the price. I also wanted a car with a CVT, and this one fit the bill perfectly. The fit and finish are excellent and exceeded my expectations for the price point. The interior is comfortable, spacious, and attractive. Both my fiance and I enjoy driving it very much. Additionally, it looks great, especially in slate gray, which is not something I thought I'd ever say about a Corolla.

When I was in the market for a car, I test drove a Hyundai Elantra and a Mazda 3, both priced at $21,500. However, after careful consideration, I decided to purchase the 2014 Corolla. In my opinion, it has the best quality, features, and styling. The dashboard design is reminiscent of a 1972 Chevelle, which I find charming. The Bluetooth and backup camera are very convenient, and the sport seats are incredibly comfortable with plenty of adjustments. The large sunroof is a great feature, and the S model wheels are simply awesome! The CVT transmission is perfect for highway driving, although it can feel a bit strange when accelerating on hills in the city. The sport mode is a lot of fun, with shift points that make it feel quite fast. While I don't think I'll use the paddle shifters much, they're a nice touch. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase of the Corolla.

I hope you're doing well! I noticed that you were looking for a commuter car to drive almost 100 miles a day back and forth to work. I think I might have found the perfect car for you! I have been driving a Corolla for about 1,500 miles now and I really like it. The rear leg room is great and I have been averaging 34 MPG. I really like the exterior styling of the car and the interior looks like it belongs in a much more expensive car. I opted for the S Plus as it adds a lot of features for very little money. This is a great commuter car that is comfortable, looks nice, drives nice and gets great MPG. I highly recommend it!

What a lovely car! I really like the redesign both inside and out. Although it's not as peppy as my 2006 S, I planned on driving it for another 5 years since it was so dependable. Unfortunately, it got totaled and I had to get a new car. I chose the S Plus because of the disc brakes all the way around and purchased it with the convenience package. I'm really enjoying the XM and Bluetooth features that I didn't have before. However, I am a bit disappointed with the gas mileage. My 2006 car consistently got 33 MPG, while this one barely gets 29 MPG. They advertise it as 35 MPG, which is not true. Nonetheless, it's still a great car. As for reliability, only time will tell. By the way, I've put 5,000 miles on it so far and I still can't get rid of the epoxy smells when I accelerate. It seems to come through the vents.

The fuel consumption is okay, but an upgrade to an 8-speed automatic transmission would be a great improvement. Overall, with good maintenance, this car will serve you well. Just make sure to take care of the wipers and fluids, and invest in winter tires for a safer drive. It's great that you service your car with a dealership and are happy with it. I have been a Toyota owner for the last five years and my family has owned multiple Toyota cars in the past. We decided to purchase a Toyota vehicle due to our positive experiences with the brand. However, since owning my Toyota Corolla, which was bought brand new, I have experienced multiple issues with the vehicle. These include the temperature gauge going bad two years after purchasing the vehicle, the driver's window getting stuck in the down position, and the vehicle shaking vigorously at around 40,000 miles and then again at 78,000 miles, which was concerning as my young children were present during both incidents. Despite getting the vehicle serviced and maintained on time from a Toyota authorized service dealership, I have been completely unsatisfied with the level of care and commitment Toyota has provided. As a company that prides itself on innovation, quality, and reliability, Toyota has failed to comply with their own standards and level of concern. I registered a complaint with the Toyota Customer Experience Center, but unfortunately, they disregarded my complaint and faulted me for the vehicle's condition. The executives I dealt with repeatedly stated that the engine failing is not Toyota's problem, even though I can prove that my maintenance was done on a timely basis. The customer care team members were unhelpful and rude, with no sense of professionalism or mannerism. I have incurred an $8,000.00 expense due to Toyota's faults and oversight. I am disappointed to learn that Toyota knew about such faulty engines and issues but chose not to take any action to fix such vehicles, given the fact they claim they have the most reliable cars. I hope Toyota will take responsibility for their actions and value their vehicles and customers. I will think twice before going back to a Toyota and cannot recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from Toyota until they are able to accept responsibility and improve their customer service.

I chose the Corolla over the 2014 Mazda 3. I've put about 600 miles on mine so far. While the Mazda is a great car in many ways - better handling, more power, better fuel economy, and better build quality - I'm still happy with my decision. The Corolla has more interior space, better visibility, and better features for less money, even when compared to a comparably equipped Mazda. The noise levels are similar to the Mazda, but could be better (although not as good as the Chevy Cruze). The handling is much improved over previous Toyotas I've driven, and the seats are supportive and comfortable. Overall, I find this to be an easy, economical car to live with and I'm really enjoying it.

At 75K miles, I had to replace the charcoal canister, and unfortunately, the air conditioner is giving me some trouble. However, overall, it's still a good car!

*Starting the car: To get the car going, make sure to push the clutch all the way to the ground and hold the button in long enough. My fiancé's car is a 6-speed with a push start and I've never had any trouble with it. I've been driving stick shift for over 15 years, but this clutch is very picky. After owning this car for 2 years, I decided to part ways with it. Unfortunately, my experience with Toyota was not a positive one. I had purchased a navigation system for around $1,400, which I needed on a daily basis, but it turned out to be useless. I ended up using my $70 Garmin instead. When I brought this to Toyota's attention, they simply responded that 'the system is designed like that.' The map installed in the system was over 15 years old in some areas, and when I inquired about a map update, the dealer informed me that it was not covered under warranty and that I would have to pay for it. It seems that Toyota's standard response to any issues with their products is to say that 'all the other vehicles do the same.' I purchased this car to save money on gas, but unfortunately, it depreciated about $7,000 in just 2 years. For that amount of money, I could have bought a lot of gas and kept driving my Chrysler van, which never had any GPS issues.
