By the time General Motors purchased the company in 1909, Cadillac had already established itself as one of America's premier luxury car makers. The complete interchangeability of its precision parts had allowed it to lay the foundation for the modern mass production of automobiles. It was at the forefront of technological advances, introducing full electrical systems, the clashless manual transmission and the steel roof. The brand developed three engines, with its V8 setting the standard for the American automotive industry.
Cadillac had the first U.S. car to win the Royal Automobile Club of the United Kingdom's Dewar Trophy by successfully demonstrating the interchangeability of its component parts during a reliability test in 1908; this spawned the firm's slogan "Standard of the World". It won the trophy again in 1912 for incorporating electric starting and lighting in a production automobile.

- Summary: i was involved in a front end collision with a car that pulled out in front of me without looking. I ended up T-boning the car at approx. 20-25 MPH. Both myself and my wife were wearing our seat belts. Mine held but the passenger one held only the lap belt part. The shoulder part of the SB allowed her face to go crashing into the dashboard. She ended up with abdominal injuries and head trauma. I took it to the dealer and they say the seat belt will need to be replaced as it is defective. (You think). I can pull on the shoulder strap rapidly and it will not 'catch'.

- Summary: The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac XTS. The contact stated that his son and wife were driving back home on the highway at an undisclosed speed when all of a sudden they heard a loud sound come from the rear end of the vehicle, this sound continued to persist and so the contacts son proceeded to veer off onto the next exit to park their vehicle in order to inspect where the obnoxious sound had come from. The contact stated that his son had called him to arrive to the scene in order to inspect the vehicle, upon the contact arriving to check out the vehicle, he noticed a clear crack across the narrow flange of the catalytic converter. The contact proceeded to turn on the vehicle and noticed that the check engine light was illuminated, and the exhaust would make an obnoxiously loud noise. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle inspected however not diagnosed. The contact was advised that the catalytic converter had a massive crack in it, and that he would have to replace it. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,208.

Braking was so frequent that, I thought, driving that car at that time was unsafe and pulled it back into the garage and took my other car. It was raining at that time. False braking has happened in the past but not to a point where driving is nearly impossible.

- Summary: On [XXX], my wife and I were stopped in traffic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at approximately 7:35pm. Another vehicle failed to stop due to being distracted on his phone and rear ended my 2022 Cadillac Escalade. My wife and I were both injured. None of our airbags deployed and the On-Star system never came on and never detected the crash. By the airbags never deploying, this caused my wife to hit her head on the dashboard as well as on the speakers on the passenger seat. It happened in front of a fire station so they heard the crash and immediately ran out the fire station to help us. The vehicle just arrived at the collision center on 10/17/2024 and they will begin inspection for repairs. None of my emergency warning lamps or any other lights or messages came on in the vehicle. When you turn on bright lights you can see good but your then endangering drivers going the opposite directions It is very dangerous. If you reserch this issue on the internet it is a well lnown problem. How can people drive their cars like this. I did inquire with GM and they said they did at one time reimburse owners to get headlights replaced but that offer expired Well there are people out there driving these Dangerous cars that were not notified of this. I would invite anyone to drive one of these cars and see how bad it is. It is very urgent that someone look at this problem I have seen where there have been recalls over 10 years old . I am trying to get across how DANGEROUS this cars lights are. Five Year manufacturer warranty and the vehicle is 7 years old, but within the mileage. Without the repair the vehicle is worthless, whereas it is worth @$14,000 {Kelly Blue Book}. Checked online and it is not uncommon for this model and the newer CT-5/6 models to have this issue.
