Until the third-generation model, the Pathfinder is based on Nissan's compact pickup truck platform which it shares with the Navara/Frontier. - Summary: My 2020 Nissan Pathfinder SL has once again developed problems with the Emergency forward Brake System. The ABS AEB was replaced in January 2024 at Southwest Nissan in Weatherford Tx . Today, [XXX] the AEB light came back on. This is also the second time I have had to replace the Brake light located under the brake pedal. This is the second time I am reporting this problem to NHTSA. Research on several car repair sites shows this is a common problem with the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder, but NHTSA has failed to issue a recall. The original cost for repair at the dealership was over $4000. Please review and confirm problems with this model and year. This is an ongoing safety issue. Southwest Nissan Weatherford, Tx was where my car was repaired in January 2024. They will be able to provide all documentation. The mechanic also stated in writing that this was a common occurrence with the Pathfinder. This was in 22-23. It is currently Oct 24, and I have had 3 sets of brakes pads and rotors. When this began the dealership told me my brakes were wearing and near needing replacement. So I had been alerted by them initially. There are zero warning lamps. Vehicle is available for inspection anytime.

- Summary: While merging onto the parkway, the gas pedal snapped off during acceleration. There was no warning at all, it just snapped off when I stepped on the pedal. I was fortunate enough to pull over onto the shoulder of the parkway without incident, but I had no way to accelerate the car if I needed to. I was very lucky that nothing happened, but I'm very concerned about driving this vehicle and the potential danger it poses to myself and others if this happens again. I believe this is a serious issue and should be looked into with urgency. I've attached pictures of where the pedal snapped off. It appears to be a cheaply made piece of plastic that completely broke off. There is another picture with the pedal intact and circled in red, you can see an indentation towards the top of the pedal. This is where I believe the pedal broke off from.

I purchased my Pathfinder in 2008 as a used vehicle with approximately 70,000 miles. Now, as a 13-year-old vehicle, I wouldn't trade it for anything on the market today. I always make sure to follow the maintenance schedule, which is always a good idea. The only issues I've had were a problem with the BOSE system cassette player and the replacement of the front window washer motor. That's it after all these years. Just for fun, I shopped around to see what's out there in today's market, but I realized how great this SUV is and decided to keep it until the car or I die, whichever comes first. :)

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my Pathy that I bought back in Oct. of 05. Initially, I wasn't looking for a 4wd, but I got an amazing deal on it. I quickly learned why it's so popular off-road and on-road. It handles like a dream in both environments! It can corner with the best on the street and climb a tree in 4wd low. Even though I've only driven it occasionally (7k miles in the 2.5 years I've owned it), I've had zero problems. I've taken this truck to places I wouldn't take a mule, and it's an absolute beast! It looks fantastic too, and I've even earned a loud groan from the ATV riders following me after tearing off the stock plastic skidplate and scarring both side steps severely. I bought this car brand new back in July 2009. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a 2009 model anywhere in Las Vegas. After driving it for a while, I noticed that the car would bump forward when I removed my foot from the gas and then re-applied it between 42 to 45 miles per hour. I was worried about this issue, so I did some research and found out that many other people had experienced the same thing. However, I was relieved to find out that Nissan was willing to help. I contacted Nissan Corp. and they were very friendly and helpful. Although they initially claimed to know nothing about the problem, they quickly scheduled an appointment for me with my dealership. The dealership found a prior alert from Nissan and fixed my vehicle with a module part. Now, my car runs smoothly without any more bumping issues.

I absolutely love my pf! I bought it with 110,000 miles and it has been a reliable companion ever since. The well-made leather heated seats and 31 inch tires are just a few of the features that make it stand out. I use my pf for hunting, fishing, and road trips, and it has never let me down. Even with 322,000 miles on the original engine and 5-speed transmission, it still runs like a dream with no oil usage. I get an impressive 20 miles per gallon on long highway drives and 16 miles per gallon while driving around the countryside. Truthfully, I would rather drive my pf than my 85 Toyota 4Runner.

I love my Pathfinder! I've had it for 7 months now. When we were looking for a new car, we realized we still needed the third row on occasion, so we traded in our Toyota Sienna. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the ride is - it's not at all what I expected. The only downside is the gas mileage - I only get around 16-17 miles per gallon around town. On the positive side, when I took it up skiing, I managed to get 22-23 miles per gallon.

I recently purchased a Pathfinder with 12,000 miles on it, along with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Unfortunately, at 36,100 miles, the oxygen sensor failed on the #3 cylinder. Additionally, before the first year was over, my gas gauge began acting up, falling to zero if it gets below half a tank. Although the Nissan Extera and Ultima have reported similar gas gauge problems, my dealer says it is unrelated. I agree with another 6-foot-tall person who said that the vehicle is difficult to get in and out of without hitting your head. At 45,000 miles, the heater began to blow cold when coming to a stop sign, then heats back up. Lastly, the back bumper scratches very easily and is not durable enough to pull a 23' boat. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to decide not to purchase a Nissan again.

I purchased this 4x4 S model with added roof rack, fog lights, and other extras in November 2015 for $30k. Unfortunately, I have experienced some issues with the transmission, such as shuddering and lack of acceleration. With only 14,750 miles on it, the trade-in value is around $18,500 and private party value is around $20,000. While I am disappointed with the depreciation, I understand that all vehicles can have issues. I would recommend doing thorough research before making a purchase to ensure it meets your needs. As for me, I will be trading this vehicle in soon due to the transmission problems. However, I do appreciate the safety features it provided for my infant child.

The radiator transmission and timing chain tensioner should have been recalled for repair, costing $3,000 and $4,500 respectively. It is disappointing that Nissan did not take responsibility for these issues. Unfortunately, this vehicle has cost my family three times more money than any other vehicle we have owned. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Nissan and will not be purchasing from them again.
