Bentley Motors Limited is a British designer, manufacturer and marketer of luxury cars and SUVs. Headquartered in Crewe, England, the company was founded by W. O. Bentley (1888–1971) in 1919 in Cricklewood, North London, and became widely known for winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929 and 1930. Bentley has been a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group since 1998 and consolidated under VW's premium brand arm Audi since 2022.

Today most Bentley models are assembled at the company's Crewe factory, with a small number assembled at Volkswagen's Dresden factory, Germany, and with bodies for the Continental manufactured in Zwickau and for the Bentayga manufactured at the Volkswagen Bratislava Plant.
The joining and eventual separation of Bentley and Rolls-Royce followed a series of mergers and acquisitions, beginning with the 1931 purchase by Rolls-Royce of Bentley, then in receivership. In 1971, Rolls-Royce itself was forced into receivership and the UK government nationalised the company—splitting it into an aerospace company (Rolls-Royce Plc) and an automotive company (Rolls-Royce Motors Limited, including Bentley). Rolls-Royce Motors was subsequently sold to engineering conglomerate Vickers, and in 1998 Vickers sold Rolls-Royce to Volkswagen AG, including Bentley with its name and logos (but not the name "Rolls Royce").

- Summary: On Monday December 4, 2023, at about 1:30pm, it was a normal sunny day, I was headed eastbound on [XXX] . I was coming to a stop at the intersection of Airport Rd. I was in the turn lane to go north on Airport Rd. No one was in front of me. As I was almost stopped, only going one or two mph, the car suddenly lurched forward. Since my right foot was already on the brake I quickly pushed the brake down with full force and was able to stop the car. If there had been another car in front of me, or a person crossing the intersection I would of hit the car or person. Two days before I had heard about the 2022 Bentley Flying Spur crashing in Niagara Falls. When I heard of this crash I immediately thought the car took off on its own and the driver couldn’t stop it as this happened to my wife in her 2006 BMW M6 when it was about 2-3 years old. I immediately contacted the CEO of Bentley via email and he responded and had the President of the North America operation call me. He had an engineer come from Germany to take the “black box” out of the car and back to Germany to examine it. Three weeks later they said there was nothing wrong with the car. I then sold the car immediately and took a huge loss on it. After this happened in my Bentley I contacted Bentley in Crewe, England via email on 12/7/23 and they told me to call the local dealer and have them pick up the car so I did but they refused to do it when I told them I didn’t want the car back. I then notified Bentley again and they wrote back on 12/7/23 and said they are reviewing my info and they said they would have their North American people call me. On Monday 12/10/23 they had not responded so I wrote them again. After no response I emailed the CEO Adrian Hallmark and he responded and said they would like to pick up the car and look at it. Then his Consumer Affairs Manager for the Americas called and I told him I am not giving them the car without the US Government being involved. - Summary: On July 19, 2019, with 8800 miles on my 2018 Bentley Bentayga, I took it into an authorized Bentley dealer repair shop for routine service. I was advised that the brakes, front, and back were dangerously low. There was no prior warning or indication of this problem. I had the front and back brakes replaced. In September 2022 with approximately 16,000 miles on the car, I noticed a squeaking noise coming from the front end of the car. On November 14, 2022, I took it back to the same authorized Bentley Repair shop. I was advised that the front brakes were dangerously low and needed to be replaced. The service man advised me that he had customers having their brakes go bad in this car in as little as 5,000 miles without notice..

THIS MEANS NOT ONLY IS THIS CAR EXTREMELY VULNERABLE TO CYBER ATTACK BUT THE PROCESS TO DESIGN THE SOFTWARE IN THE FACTORY HAD LITTLE TO NO REGARD TO CUSTOMER SECURITY. IT IS POSSIBLE TO ELECTRONICALLY SWEEP ALL IP'S IN THE USA SEARCHING FOR BENTLEY BENTAGYA'S AND THEN CONSTRUCT A CYBER ATTACK AT ALL VEHICLES SIMULTANEOUSLY. THIS IS A VERY VERY SERIOUS ISSUE. I NOTIFIED BENTLEY AND PROVIDED THE FULL CYBER ASSESSMENT REPORT AND HAD NOT REPLY WHATSOEVER. THEY SHOULD IMMEDIATELY HAVE EVERY CUSTOMER REMOVE THE SIM CARD (THIS SHOULD BE A CRITICAL RECALL) FOR THE VEHICLE TO PREVENT AN ATTACK FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD. THEN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN TRAFFIC IS STOPPED OR SLOW THE CAR WILL DRIVE AT SAY 65 MPH DIRECTLY TOWARD THE STOPPED VEHICLES BECAUSE THE SETTING IS SET AT 100 YARDS. THE RADAR HAS THE ABILITY TO SEE 300-400 YARDS, BUT IN THE SHORTENED SETTING INSTEAD OF LOOKING OUT AT 300-400 YARDS IT DISREGARDS THAT INPUT TAKING ONLY THE 100 YARD INPUT. WHAT THEN HAPPENS IS THE CAR ON REALISING THAT THE STATIONARY OBJECT IS NOW AT 100 YARDS ATTEMPTS TO DO AN EMERGENCY STOP. WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE. THIS HAPPENED BY ACCIDENT TO ME ON A HIGHWAY, AND I HAVE TO SWERVE ONTO THE HARD SHOULDER TO AVOID A COLLISION. IF THE MANUFACTURER WANTS TO INSTALL INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS THEN IT WOULD BE REALLY HELPFUL IF THEY WERE DESIGNED RIGHT. IT IS ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE TO TAKE A RADAR INPUT AT 300 YARDS AND 100 YARDS FROM THE SYSTEM AND THEN MANAGE THIS SITUATION SAFELY. THIS IS A BASIC DESIGN FAULT. THEY SHOULD GO TEST A MERCEDES TO SEE HOW TO DESIGN THIS PROPERLY.

- Summary: BENTLEY LANE ASSIST - MAJOR ISSUE THE BENTLEY LANE ASSIST IS SUPPOSED TO KEEP YOU IN A LANE, HOWEVER TWICE NOW I HAVE BEEN TRAVELLING ON A TWO WAY ROAD AND IT HAS TAKEN ME WITH A VIOLENT STEERING MANOEUVRE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE ISSUE IS THAT WHEN YOU ARE IN A TWO LANE ROAD AND THE ROAD MARKINGS IN THE CENTRE LINE SPREAD APART FOR A LEFT TURN AREA, THE CAR WILL OFTEN FOLLOW THE OUTSIDE LINE INSTEAD OF THE INSIDE LINE, THAT LINE TAKING YOU INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. YOU THEN NEED TO VIOLENTLY YANK THE STEERING TO CORRECT HE LANE ASSIST. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY TO BENTLEY AFTER THE SECOND OCCASION AND THEY FAILED AGAIN TO FIND THE FAULT. THEY ASKED ME IF I COULD VIDEO IT HAPPENING - BUT THAT SEEMS TO MAKE A DANGEROUS SITUATION MORE DANGEROUS AND I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH SELF DRIVING CARS THAT ARE DESIGNED BADLY, IT MAKES YOU INCREDIBLY NERVOUS TO DRIVE AS YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT THE CAR IS GOING TO DO.
