2007 Nissan Pathfinder problems
The Nissan Pathfinder is a range of sport utility vehicles manufactured by Nissan since 1986. Until the third-generation model, the Pathfinder is based on Nissan's compact pickup truck platform which it shares with the Navara/Frontier. The front end of the D21 (first generation) and R51 (third generation) Pathfinder is notably identical with the Navara/Frontier up until the B-pillars.
The Pathfinder was marketed as the Nissan Terrano (Japanese: 日産・テラノ, Hepburn: Nissan Terano) outside North America. Beginning in 2004, the R51 series was marketed internationally as the Pathfinder.
In 2012, the R52 series Pathfinder was released as a three-row crossover SUV based on the unibody Nissan D platform, moving away from the body-on-frame chassis format. The role of a mid-size body-on-frame SUV in Nissan's global lineup was passed to the Terra/X-Terra, which was released in 2018 and based on the D23 series Navara.

Common 2007 Nissan Pathfinder problems
The Nissan Pathfinder 2007 has been noted for several common problems, primarily related to the transmission, powertrain, and engine.
- Powertrain Issues: The powertrain, which includes the engine, transmission, and other components that generate power and transmit it to the wheels, has been a problematic area for the Nissan Pathfinder 2007. More than half of the 557 complaints filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are related to powertrain issues, with several reports of cracked radiators causing coolant leakage into the transmission.
- Airbag Complaints: There have been 23 airbag complaints for the Nissan Pathfinder 2007, with drivers reporting airbag warning lights staying on and, in some cases, airbags failing to deploy during accidents.
- Engine Problems: Several engine problems have been reported, including issues with the catalytic converters overheating and breaking up when the vehicle is running on LPG. This can cause particles to be ingested into the engine, potentially leading to major engine issues.
- Faulty Fuel Level Sensor: This issue has affected over 16 different Nissan Pathfinder model years, including the 2007 model. The fuel level sensor can fail, resulting in erratic or inaccurate gauge readings. The usual fix is to replace the fuel pump, which may cost between $673 and $833.
- Navigation System Problems: Some 2007 Nissan Pathfinder owners have reported issues with the navigation display, such as navigation controls freezing, the backup camera getting stuck, and malfunctioning reverse assist display.
- Transmission Issues: Automatic transmissions in 2005-2010 Pathfinders may fail around 90,000 miles due to cracks in the oil cooler tube, causing coolant to leak into the transmission system.
- Climate System Failure: A/C and heating system issues are common in 2015 Pathfinders, with many reports of the climate system simply refusing to work during extreme temperatures.
- CVT Issues: Nissan's CVT issues have been widespread, with Pathfinder owners claiming that the CVT transmission system is slow to respond, overheats easily, and shudders while accelerating. This can be a significant safety risk, especially when trying to merge on busy highways.
- Timing Chain Issues: Pathfinder owners have reported issues with the timing chain, including rattling or acceleration problems, which can lead to engine failure if not addressed.
In summary, the Nissan Pathfinder 2007 has several common problems, primarily related to the transmission, powertrain, and engine. These issues can lead to significant repair costs and should be considered when purchasing a used Pathfinder from this model year.
What is the problem with the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder?
A: It's best to steer clear of 2005-2007 Nissan Pathfinders, as they had a severe problem with coolant leaking into the transmission, causing what's known as the “Strawberry Milkshake” issue. To be safe, consider avoiding Pathfinders from 2005 to 2010.
What is most common problem on Nissan Pathfinder?
According to CarComplaints, one of the most common Pathfinder issues is transmission failure. This issue is said to be caused by coolant leaking into the transmission – which is also a huge issue.
How good is a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder?
Ride quality is generally smooth, but the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder feels a bit sloppy over bumps. During normal driving, body motions are well controlled and the steering is nicely weighted. Tighter cornering results in more body roll than we'd like, however. Off the pavement, these compromises turn into advantages.
How many miles can a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder last?
How Long Will the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder Last? Nissan Pathfinder drivers regularly report some very high numbers, like 300,000 and up. In a used model you have to expect a little extra wear and tear going in, so you should expect to reach around 250,000 miles before you have some major repairs to worry about.

WE CHECKED ONLINE FOR ANY RECALLS AND FOUND THERE WERE SEVERAL ONE OF THEM BEING A FUEL SENSOR ISSUE. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WE GOT IT FROM AND THEY SAID ANY RECALLS HAVE SINCE BEEN EXPIRED. BEING WE ARE THE 2ND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE WE DON'T KNOW IF THE FIRST OWNER DID ANYTHING IF THERE WERE RECALLS. HOW CAN WE FIND THIS OUT? IF THERE IS A WAY TO SHOW THIS, AND THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IT, IS THERE A WAY TO GET THESE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY? ALSO, IS THERE A WAY TO SEE IF THE CODE WE ARE GETTING HAS BEEN IN THE CARS MEMORY FOR SOME TIME ? MOST IMPORTANTLY IS IF THE RECALLS WERE NEVER TAKE CARE OF, IS THERE AN EXCEPTION THAT CAN BE MADE TO FIX THE RECALLS THAT WERE PUT OUT THERE FOR THIS MODEL? ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE GREAT! THE DATE BELOW ON WHEN THIS HAPPENED IS BASED ON WHEN WE FIRST GOT IT HOW LONG ITS BEEN GOING ON WE DON'T KNOW. AGAIN IF THERE IS A WAY TO SEE ITS HISTORY THROUGH THE COMPUTER WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT FINDING THAT OUT.

I read all the reviews about the radiator so I knew the problem going in. I found a nice low-mileage loaded one and had the dealer replace it before I purchased it. I've put 40k on it with no problems and it gets 20 mph on the freeway. It's a nice ride and I got it for a good price!
-
I just bought my Nissan Pathfinder LE and I'm absolutely loving it! The drive was so impressive, especially for such a big car. Despite some complaints about the engine noise, I personally thought it was just fine (I actually like louder engines!). The seating is superb and all the luxuries are just fantastic.
-
If you're a dog owner looking for an SUV, the Pathfinder is the perfect choice. It has plenty of space to fit a large kennel with the 3rd row seat down, and all rear seats fold completely flat. What sets it apart from other SUVs is the rear ventilation in the ceiling, ensuring adequate airflow to the back. Unlike other SUVs, the vents are not blocked when the second row seats are down. The entry height with the hatch open is also very convenient. Additionally, the hatch window opens, making it even more practical. The Pathfinder looks great both inside and out, and the sound system is fantastic. In my opinion, it's the best SUV out there!
-
The Pathfinder '07 is a powerful and masculine SUV that is best suited for male drivers. While it may not be the best fit for those who prioritize fuel efficiency, it is a great choice for those who enjoy a loud engine and a racing car feel. Although there have been some minor issues reported, such as a malfunctioning CD changer and windows that roll down unexpectedly, these are easily fixable and do not detract from the overall quality of the vehicle.
-
We bought the car just a day ago and we can't seem to get enough of it! My boys absolutely adore it, especially the third seat in the back. It's such a smooth ride and handles like a dream!

We purchased this car because we were looking for an honest and reliable vehicle. While we are a bit concerned about the quality of the interior finish and the lower than expected mileage (15 MPG), we still believe that this car is a great option for long term ownership. Although the dashboard quality could be improved, the car is spacious, drives nicely (on smooth roads), handles well for an SUV, and is perfect for transporting kids to school. We feel that this car is a safe choice and ultimately chose it over the 4 door Jeep Wrangler for this reason.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my truck. When I first got it, it only had 25 miles on it! I was so excited to try it out and I have to say, I love the power and performance it provides. It's also really comfortable, especially with the heated seats and individual climate control. Although, I have had some issues with the Bose sound system, it seems to break quite often. Additionally, the air conditioning went out and even though I took it to the dealer, the problem still persists. Unfortunately, just yesterday I had trouble starting it and after talking to the dealer, it seems like the electronics are fried. So, I'm currently in a rental. But overall, I still really enjoy my truck and I'm hopeful that these issues will be resolved soon.
