- Summary: I was driving down the road about 50 mph when all of sudden my steering wheel locked up was nearly impossible to turn I had to try to keep it on the road and slow down as quickly as I could it took all my force to turn the wheel and it was not turning like it normally did it would like skip a beat and not really turn the wheel this is a common problem with 2013 ford taurus some are recalled mine However was not but after searching the web many other people have the same issue but not covered under the recall but exactly the same issue now ford turned a recall into a customer satisfaction program However I am the 2nd owner of this car was never notified by ford or the original owner of the customer satisfaction program so apparently they turned a recall into a csp and if it's past 10 years or 150 thousand miles ford will no longer fix it as I said before I was never notified by ford or the original owner this has caused 16 accidents all together almost caused me to crash I have seen many post of people doing 60 plus mph around a corner and lose steering causing a an accident these cars are not safe on the road with these steering racks it's a dangerous recall ford should have to cover it wether it's been 10 years or 150 thousand miles I'm the 2nd owner never notified I can't afford 3 grand just for the rack I can't get to work now because I live in the middle of no where and ford refuses to fix the problem this easily could have caused a head on accident killing me and the other people involved in the collision with iver 16 accident and 4 of them having injuries and not being notified of this issue I feel as it should be fixed by ford and a recall can't be turned into a csp with a restriction on how many miles or years u can have or they don't have to fix there own recall now im without a car without a job and ford refuses to fix the problem they know they created this is super dangerous and could lead to many more accidents please look into this

The car required a new transmission at only 80k miles and even the new transmission is having issues. The Taurus model has not changed since 2007 and has had multiple issues with the door electronics. Recently, the driver's door had to be hard-wired to roll down the window. The engine has also started making noises, and the car hasn't even reached 100k miles yet. Despite all services being done, the car is now worth less than the cost of the transmission. It's important to research any car before purchasing. While my experience with the FORD Taurus has been a nightmare, it's important to note that this may not be the case for everyone. However, I have decided to switch to Toyota for my future car purchases.

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with my 2000 Taurus SEL. I bought it brand new and have taken great care of it over the years. It's been such a reliable car with only minor repairs needed. I'm actually thinking of retiring it to a teen next year. The duratec engine is fantastic! Recently, my air conditioner stopped working, but that's to be expected with its age. Overall, I've really enjoyed my Taurus over the past 9 years.

Hi there! While the cabin design may not be everyone's cup of tea, I wanted to highlight some of the great features of this car. The SYNC 3 system is absolutely top notch and the trunk is cavernous! Plus, it's safe, solid, and dependable - I've had zero issues with it in 2 years. Despite being a larger car, the mileage is good (around 22-23 mpg for commuting and around town, even with my heavy foot on the gas pedal). As a larger person myself (6'5, 260), I find that there's plenty of room inside. Overall, I think this is a great all-around sedan. Thanks for considering it!

I recently bought a 2006 Ford Taurus for my son. Although it was an insurance write-off from hitting a deer, it had just under 89,000 miles and was in good condition. We went to our local pull-a-part and found replacement parts for the front facia, headlights, hood, and windshield. After having Firestone install four new tires, doing a tune-up with new plugs, wires, oil and filter, transmission service, and a new coil pack, the car was as good as new. The SEL version has power everything comparable to much higher dollar sedans, and it can comfortably seat up to six adults with child safety locks and windows. It's a great car that is neither too small nor too big, and it's perfect for high school or college-bound students. Insurance is cheap, fuel mileage is good, and it has ample power to merge and pass. I'm so impressed with its reliability that I'm considering selling my wife's Mustang and getting the next generation of Taurus, maybe even an SHO model. I highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a first car.

I have had some issues with my Taurus, but I still enjoy driving it and find it comfortable. Despite some minor problems like the door ajar switches sticking and sensor issues, I have taken care of the car and replaced the head and gasket at 80,000 miles. Although the radiator has had some gunk in it, I have been able to flush and clean it. I have also replaced the spark plugs and wires multiple times, but the car is still missing. I am confident in my ability to address any issues that may arise, and I am hopeful that the car will continue to serve me well.

Three years ago, I was thrilled to finally purchase a vehicle that I could call my own. The car was in great condition with only 36,000 miles on it, and I was excited to have a reliable mode of transportation. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that the front driver side tire wore unevenly and needed frequent replacement. As if that wasn't enough, the transmission, alternator, AC, and now the fuel pump have all needed repairs as well. Despite these setbacks, I still have fond memories of loading up my dog and fiancé and heading out to the lake or mountains. The back of the car was perfect for camping, with plenty of room when the rear seats were folded down. While my experience with this car has been disappointing, I know that with a good one, it can be an awesome vehicle. I am now in the market for a new car, and I am looking forward to finding one that will be just as great for my adventures.

Grandpa car? Maybe? But I never had a problem with it. I change the oil semi-regularly and only had one brake change in 7 years. I only had one problem with the heater/AC fan, but it was covered by Ford. This was my first Ford, and it won't be my last. Buy American!
