The "cyclone motor" design by Ford has a known problem with water pump leaking and must be replaced, costs are typically $4,500 as the engine has a known design flaw in that the water pump was placed Inside the motor causing a high degree of failure and labor-intensive repair. Ford is well aware of this issue yet they have Not contacted my regarding this known issue. I now have my vehicle in the repair shop at Walker Ford in Clearwater being repaired and an invoice due of $4,500. I wish for your assistance to have this repair covered under the recall and or warranty. My vehicle has 62K miles.

- Summary: my vehicle's oil lines to the turbo charger failed and caused a huge oil leak and my car was smoking all over the highway. I had the vehicle towed to a nearby service station recommended by AAA. After discovering the issue, the repairman indicated there was a recall on this exact issue. However, I was never notified by Ford of the recall. When I called Ford I was informed that the recall only applied to vehicles built between Oct and Nov 2016. My vehicle was built in April. I feel that this issue couldn't have been limited to that small window of time, obviously Ford is not sharing the appropriate information with NHSTA. I had to pay $3000 to fix my vehicle for a problem that Ford is well aware this vehicle is still having. I'm deeply disappointed in Ford.

- Summary: The future that failed on my vehicle was the epas or electronic power assisted steering. This feature failed while I was on the freeway at upwards of 65 mph the steering wheel locked and I was unable to turn the steering wheel. After pulling off of the freeway at slow speeds I was able to give a, very hard like pull to the steering wheel in the direction that I needed it to go. When this feature failed the notification on my dash showed "electronic power assisted steering failure. Service required." Definitely is a danger not only to myself but other drivers on the road who could have been innocently impacted by my car as a failure to be able to steer in the correct direction. This issue is known on 2010 to 2018 Ford vehicles and has been recalled on only certain vehicles not upwards of 2015. Now I'm unable to use my vehicle as I'm not able to steer it.

- Summary: I turned left after stopping at a four-way stop sign intersection. I crashed into a parked car waiting its turn but I did not see until I was upon it and it was too late to swerve away. My car's air bags inflated. My wrist was broken. My car was declared totaled by my insurer although I could not have been speeding since I had just stopped at the four-way stop sign, waited my turn, and turned my car left onto a street that runs slightly downhill. I am still trying to comprehend how my wrist on my right hand was broken since both of my hands were on the steering wheel at the point of impact but a trip to the emergency room proved my suddenly limp and suddenly pain-filled arm meant I had broken my wrist. It is not the first time I have been in my 2016 Ford Taurus and not noticed a car until it was close upon me-- typically though a car(s) has approached me from my rear right and I noticed it in a split second and avoided an accident; but this is my first collision accident in decades. I need to point that fact out. I don't know if the car has a blind spot. I don't know if the air bag broke my wrist. I don't know why my wrist was broken because both of my hands were on the steering wheel during my collision on May 9, 2022. There were not any warning messages that I recall seeing or hearing. My insurer acquired right of attorney over my vehicle and towed it away. To my knowledge, no one has inspected the car but I suspect there are actually several blind spots in the 2016 Ford Taurus. I owned a 1998 Ford Taurus before I bought my 2016 Ford Taurus but never had a collision in my 1998 Ford Taurus or any of the problems I've just described.

Dealer hasn't done anything to correct the problem despite consumer's on going requests both at the dealership and corporate executive level. All ford did was to take $248.42 from consumer on 12/22/21 for allegedly cleaning fuel injectors, intake manifold, ports and combustion chamber which should have been covered by the 7 year warranty which consumer purchased from dealer on 5/20/16 when vehicle was. Dealer refused to cover this defect under the warranty.

ON JUNE 12, 2019, FORD MEDIA CENTER ISSUED ISSUE A MEMO "FORD MOTOR COMPANY ISSUES FOUR SAFETY RECALLS" WHICH INDICATED THAT THE "AFFECTED VEHICLES INCLUDE 2010-2017 FORD TAURUS VEHICLES BUILT AT THE CHICAGO ASSEMBLY PLANT, JULY 2, 2009-MAY 25, 2017." THIS INCLUDED MY 2016 TAURUS SHO, BUT THE DEALER HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE RECALL AND HAS NOW CHARGED ME FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE RECALL ITEM. ALSO, I'M CONCERNED THAT THE REPLACEMENT TOE LINK WAS NOT THE HARDENED REPLACEMENT PART AND WAS THE ORIGINAL OEM PART THAT IS PRONE TO FAILURE. THE FAILURE OF THIS PART CAN BE CATASTROPHIC AND CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.

- Components: SUSPENSION:REAR
- Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Lincoln MKT and Ford Flex and Taurus vehicles with the Police Interceptor or SHO Performance Pack. The rear suspension toe links may fracture due to stress on the rear suspension.
- Consequence: A fractured rear toe link will cause a sudden change in vehicle handling and increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear suspension toe links, free of charge. Remedy parts are not currently available. Owners were notified about the recall on March 3, 2020. A second notice will be mailed when remedy parts become available, which is currently expected to be the end of September 2020. The recall began October 28, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or Lincoln customer service at 1-800-521-4140. Ford's number for this recall is 20S04.

The SHO with the Performance package is a fantastic car with a lot of great features. The leather seats with the suede inset are especially nice, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The heated and cooled seats are an added bonus. The SHO is also very spacious, with a roomy interior and a spacious trunk. The fold-down back seat is especially useful for longer items, like skis. While it may not be a car that everyone knows about, those in law enforcement certainly do. It's a powerful car that can reach speeds of up to 140 mph with ease!

I really love my Taurus! I was hesitant about switching from a Hummer H2 to a car, but I'm so glad I did. Choosing the Taurus was definitely the right decision!

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share that I've been keeping up with regular maintenance for my car at a local Lincoln Dealership, and it's still running great with no mechanical problems. I'll be getting new tires next month at 57k and I plan on buying the same tires from the Lincoln Dealer. We've had some snow here in NE this week, so I'm glad my tires will be ready to handle it. I've been considering trading it in for a 2019 Taurus and I'm happy with the KBB value. It's a shame that Ford decided to discontinue this Sedan, I think they made a mistake. By the way, I've noticed that the Dune Interior shows every coffee drip after 3 years, so it's time to get it detailed. The next Taurus I get will have the Charcoal Interior.

I really love my SEL AWD! It has plenty of power - this trim is equipped with the 3.5L Duratec engine rated at 288hp - that will push you back into the seat while accelerating from 35 mph. I also appreciate the option of using E-85, which is generally 85 cents cheaper per gallon (15 gallons is $12.75 saved) than the 87 octane, the lowest rating you should put in when using gasoline. The AWD is fantastic, and is a great alternative to getting an SUV if the only reason for one is the 4wd. This trim comes with 20

Unfortunately, Ford has decided to discontinue the Taurus. As someone who has owned many Tauruses, I can attest to the fact that it is a great car. During my career with the Massachusetts State Police, the Taurus was the cruiser of choice. Even after my retirement, I was lucky enough to have a Taurus company car while working for a large construction company that exclusively purchased Fords. While my wife was always a Mustang fan, I have never owned a foreign car and never will as long as I'm taking up space on the planet. However, I am excited to try out the ST Explorer when it becomes available. That's just my opinion about Ford. As for me, I'll continue to enjoy my retirement doing what I do best - nothing.

The 2016 Taurus SEL has some issues that need to be addressed. The car has two gas tanks, which was not communicated to the customer by the FORD dealer. At 6,000 miles, the engine cut out at 60 mph due to a malfunctioning sensor between the tanks. Additionally, the rear doors fill with water during rain, snow, or car washes, which is a known issue since the 2010 model. Unfortunately, FORD has not fixed this issue and is not providing assistance. The car also has a constant sloshing noise and the side view mirrors do not dim at night. On the positive side, the FORD engine is great. However, due to the other issues, the car may not be suitable for everyone.
