As some have mentioned, the water pump may not last beyond 70k miles and can be costly to replace. Additionally, shocks and struts may wear out prematurely, and there may be some issues with the electronics that cannot be upgraded. The performance may not be the best, and the handling and visibility may leave something to be desired.

Although the car has a great look and impressive power, it is unfortunate that the fuel pump and water pump both failed before 70K. However, I was able to get the fuel pump repaired for $500 and the water pump for $1,500+. Despite the water pump part being only $200, it was located behind the timing chain and required the chain to be removed in order to work on the fuel pump. This was a challenging setup, but I was able to handle it. While I have had to invest a significant amount of money into my 2013 Ford, I am confident that it will continue to perform well in the future. Although some people advised me against purchasing this car, I am glad that I made the decision to do so.

Our vehicle has experienced several issues that are not related to regular wear and tear. Despite this, we have been proactive in addressing these concerns by regularly visiting the service department. We have had to replace the seat AC motor, seat tracks, trunk struts, and even the driver's door handle, which unfortunately was not covered by the warranty. We are grateful for the protection provided by the ESP, as we are concerned about the potential costs once the warranty expires. While we have experienced some challenges, we remain confident in the overall quality of our vehicle.

The 2013 Taurus SEL is a fantastic car with a lot of great features. It's amazing how far this car has come in just a few years!

I've owned several cars, including Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, and VW, but I've never owned an American car before. However, I was persuaded by my friends to buy a Ford. While the car feels great while driving, I did notice that the driver's seat is very cramped, even though I'm only 5 feet 9 inches tall. The interior looks great and has some great gadgets, but unfortunately, as I expected, there's no pride in 'Made in USA'. I've noticed that the interior trim is coming off/loose, and the driver's side rear door is uneven with the front door (which I only noticed after driving for a day). I'm already feeling unhappy with the car after just one day. I'm sure the dealership will fix these issues (fortunately, I went to a reliable place), but it has already left a bad taste in my mouth. This experience reminds me of my previous experience with VW. I think I'll stick with Japanese cars.

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying your new car! It sounds like it's a great fit for you, especially with your height and the comfort it provides on long trips. The stylish all-black design and abundance of features for the price are definitely a plus. It's great to hear that you feel safe while driving it and that the fuel economy is good. The My Ford Touch system is also a nice touch. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with us!

I recently traded in my 08 GT convertible for the SHO and was feeling a bit of remorse until we took it on a 5-hour road trip. Passing cars in the SHO is an awesome experience. I was able to go from 70 to 95, and even 100 mph, before getting in front of the car I was passing. While it may not have the low-end power of the Mustang, this car really shines after 60 mph. The comfort level is great, and the gadgets and stereo system have made me a true believer in the SHO.

Jan 2020, I still absolutely love this car! It's a shame that Ford has decided to discontinue this car line and focus on SUVs, crossovers, and trucks only. If they changed the body style, I would definitely buy another Taurus SHO. However, I have noticed a few minor issues when fastening my grandkids into their car seats. The metal hooks that secure the car seats to the car are not positioned well, with the one closest to the door being about 1/3 of the way into the seat. The second one is where the seat belt receiver is located, which makes the child car seat shift towards the center of the car. This eliminates the chance for anyone except the thinnest of people to sit between the 2 car seats we have to use, making the SHO a 4 passenger car. Another issue I've had to deal with is the malfunction of the reverse monitor. Occasionally, it works perfectly, but 90% of the time, it either goes blank and tells me to have it serviced, or the screen is blurred, or the images on the screen are upside down. That's frustrating. I checked with the dealer, and they say replacing it is the best option as the cost of chasing an electrical issue can be very high. Despite these minor issues, I'm still very pleased with my purchase over 7 years later! Spring 2017, punching the accelerator is a temptation every time I get behind the wheel of this car. For a sedan, the SHO is a powerhouse! I've had this car for 4-1/2 years now, and I still get excited when I drop my foot on the pedal! The 3.5-liter engine is no stranger to quick starts, and the car does a great job of holding the road around the curves of the windy roads of WV. 365 horsepower can go a long way to making a 4-door family car fun!I've had little to no mechanical issues and the car has proven to be quite reliable. Although the roads in West Virginia can be tough on tires, I have gone through several sets due to my driving style. The front seats are comfortable and provide good support. The sound system is above average and I highly recommend SiriusXM radio for those who spend a lot of time on the road. The instrumentation is clear and easy to read. While I would love to improve my fuel efficiency, my driving style typically gets me around 13 city and 19 highway. The trunk is spacious and can easily fit several suitcases or a large grocery haul. I often receive compliments on the car's appearance, even though it is over 4 years old. The black painted rims are a unique feature of the SHO model. If you're in the market for a sporty car with 4 doors, this is an excellent choice. Just be sure to check the previous owner's driving habits! :)

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my Taurus since I got it in June of this year. I have to say, I really like it! It's a significant step up from my previous car, an 09 Cobalt. However, I have noticed that the gas mileage in the city isn't that great, especially when the huge fuel tank is full. Since I'm usually alone in the car, it's a little big for me, but I think it would be perfect for a family. I've never seen a trunk so big! The leather seats are holding up well, as is the paint. I'm told it has dual roll bars and an anti-theft system, which is really nice considering I live in St. Louis. Thanks for listening!
