- Consequence: AN INSUFFICIENTLY LATCHED OR UNLATCHED SAFETY BELTINCREASES THE RISK OF INJURY TO SEAT OCCUPANTS IN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP ORACCIDENT. IF THE SAFETY BELT BUCKLE WILL NOT UNLATCH, IT WILL NOT ALLOW THEOCCUPANT TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.

- Consequence: SEVERELY CORRODED ROTORS MAY FRACTURE OR SEPARATE NEARTHE INNER EDGES OF THE BRAKE DISCS RESULTING IN REDUCED BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS,HIGHER THAN NORMAL PEDAL EFFORTS, LOUD GRINDING NOISES, AND MODERATE PULLS WHENTHE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. I've owned my SHO for 5 years now and it's one fast car! With just a few modifications, it can get downright scary. It's a shame that the body is made by Ford, but if it were built like the engine, it would be a guaranteed hit. Despite this, I still love it and nothing can keep up with it. The '90 Taurus was my first car, and I drove it like a maniac. I would drive 60+mph on country dirt roads, drive it across fields, and do all sorts of things you're not supposed to do in a family car. But the amazing thing was that even with all the abuse I put it through, it kept on going. The only problems I ever had were minor things that come with age. It was hard to part with this beast of the suburbs, but I needed something more fuel-efficient for long trips. While I loved the Taurus, it just wasn't cutting it in terms of fuel economy.

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share that I was able to purchase this car for a great price, well under its retail value. It's been in great shape and has been well-maintained. I've been using it as my daily driver and it hasn't shown any signs of unreliability, even when I'm forced to let it idle for long periods of time.

Hi there! I noticed that this car has had a few repairs, including a water pump replacement for $350, 4 alternators for $500, a heater leak for $600, and some transmission issues. It sounds like you've had some bad luck with this car, especially compared to your previous Honda's. Have you considered looking into older Ford models? Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hey there! Just a heads up, some replacement parts for this car can be a bit pricey. While the body and interior may be a Taurus (meaning they're cheap and mass-produced), the engine was made in low volume. Unfortunately, there aren't many aftermarket suppliers for this car, so engine parts can be expensive. Additionally, finding qualified repair shops can be a bit of a challenge. Just wanted to give you a friendly heads up!

This car has been a very very high maintance car, 3 starters, 2 transmissions, front main seal leaks oil, power steering hoses leak, runs poorly on low grade gas, Since I owned one I have spoken to many peoplethat have ownd one. We all have the same problems. you would think after the fristfew years Ford would have worked the bugs out. Not on this car, the 3.8 l engineis known for blowing head gaskets. This is the car that saved Ford? .
