The Cadillac XTS (short for X-Series Touring Sedan) is a full-size car built by the American company Cadillac from 2013 until 2019. It is a four-door sedan with seating for up to five passengers. Based on an enlarged version of the Epsilon II platform, it has a front-mounted engine that either drives the front wheels or drives all four wheels.

Replacing the smaller Cadillac STS and larger DTS, production began in May 2012 at the Oshawa Assembly Plant and launched in June as a 2013 model. Marketed with left-hand drive in the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, and the Middle East (except Israel), the XTS was also assembled by Shanghai GM, with production beginning in February 2013.

Interior

In addition to the base XTS, there are five trim packages labeled "Luxury", "Premium Luxury", and "Platinum", with the optional XTS V-Sport offered in both "V-Sport Premium Luxury" and "V-Sport Platinum". Some of the standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, 4G LTE connectivity, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, leather seat-upholstery, 8-way power front seats, parking assist and comprehensive safety equipment like ABS, stability control, dual-stage front airbags, front side airbags, side-curtain airbags front and rear, and a driver side knee airbag.

Optional equipment includes separate climate controls for rear seat passengers, coupled with 8" LCD screens that flip up from the front passenger seat-backs, allowing an internal DVD player to display content with wireless headphones. The interior can be outfitted in a large assortment of color combinations, along with four wood selections. Cadillac's CUE system is standard with an 8-speaker Bose sound system, including HD Radio and SiriusXM. An optional 14-speaker Bose sound package includes AudioPilot noise compensation technology.

  • Summary: The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac XTS. The contact stated that his son and wife were driving back home on the highway at an undisclosed speed when all of a sudden they heard a loud sound come from the rear end of the vehicle, this sound continued to persist and so the contacts son proceeded to veer off onto the next exit to park their vehicle in order to inspect where the obnoxious sound had come from. The contact stated that his son had called him to arrive to the scene in order to inspect the vehicle, upon the contact arriving to check out the vehicle, he noticed a clear crack across the narrow flange of the catalytic converter. The contact proceeded to turn on the vehicle and noticed that the check engine light was illuminated, and the exhaust would make an obnoxiously loud noise. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle inspected however not diagnosed. The contact was advised that the catalytic converter had a massive crack in it, and that he would have to replace it. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,208.

  • Summary: I was forced onto the shoulder of the interstate by a vehicle that came into my lane. As I went onto the shoulder, I hit a pothole (there were several), and it split my factory rim in half, damaging my tire, also. It took me several days to find a reasonably priced replacement factory wheel as I could not afford $900 to replace one wheel that should have been able to withstand a pothole on the side of the road. I had to pay $215 for a wheel from a company in Wisconsin that had to ship it to me. and it is a used wheel that has a lot of curb rash, damages to it, so who knows how long it will withstand daily driving. I had to buy a new tire for $115 and wait for that to be shipped so I could pick up. Then I had to pay to have the tire put on the wheel and balanced. This also left me on the side of the road for four hours waiting for a tow truck which was very dangerous. Which my insurance only paid partial because of the distance that I was to my home. They charged me an additional $40 on top of what my car insurance paid them. All of this caused a lot of anxiety being on the side of an interstate waiting for a tow truck because my whole rim split in half. And the stress of figuring out how to pay for it all to be repaired so I could stop borrowing a car just to get to and from work. I called the dealership that I purchased the vehicle from Cable Dahmer Cadillac of Kansas City and the person in the parts department basically told me it wasn't anyone's fault and he didn't have any information on how I could file a claim with Cadillac/GM directly before coming here to file a claim. I also filed a claim with the state of Missouri so they are aware the shoulder/road on the interstate in that location needs repaired so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Headlights turn off and on by themselves; The latest is driving up a hill @ 25 mph, the steering wheel jerked hard to the right at 2 different times. Had I not had a solid grip on the wheel, it would have taken down a 500 foot drop and we wouldn't be here today. This last episode is the first time their OBD was able to read anything. It read "no communication to steering, no communication to brakes, radio, dash display" and other no communications. This car is unsafe to drive and should be recalled or taken off the road. It has been to 2 dealerships and so far have not identified anything that gives me faith in the reliability in the vehicle.

We are now waiting for the new Gas tank to arrive. Aut shop Claims it can't be repaired. I can and will bring the old gas tank Home....for You inspection.

    I own a 2014 XTS, which is essentially the same as my previous 2013 XTS. Unfortunately, the 2013 model had several issues and Cadillac had to buy it back under Lemon Law. However, I have had a better experience with the 2014 XTS, although it still has some problems that cannot be fixed, such as the radio that sometimes won't turn off. Despite this, the car has its good points. On occasion, the ride can be bumpy, but it is generally comfortable. The car's resale value is not as high as I would like, but it is still a great car. I have not changed my opinion about the XTS, but I understand that it may not be for everyone. The dealership has been very helpful throughout my ownership experience, and I appreciate their support. Add to that the new Cadillac CT6, which is almost exactly like the XTS but two inches longer. The base model is about $58,000 and comes with a 4-cylinder engine borrowed from a Chevy Cruze. By the time you upgrade to the proper V6 engine and trim package, you'll be at $70,000. No wonder you don't see many CT6's on the road. It seems like Cadillac has lost sight of who their customers are, chasing both BMW and Mercedes customers, and it hasn't worked. As a loyal customer, I'm disappointed that Cadillac has nothing to offer me anymore. When it's time to trade, I'll have to go in a different direction. It's really sad. However, I haven't changed my mind on this car. With 21,000 miles on the car, I have had the 3rd replacement battery. The onboard computer that controls everything is as dependable as a $25 watch. The bumper-to-bumper warranty expires in January of 2018. I will see if I can buy an extended warranty just to cover this nightmare that's always causing trouble. When you buy a Cadillac, you will have to deal with the dealer's service department, and 99% of your problems will be with the technology that was forced down your throat!

    My 2016 Cadillac XTS is currently on its second transmission. However, the new transmission is currently at the dealership for the second time, with hard down shifts and uncertain up shifts. Despite the car having 41,000 miles, I am confident that Cadillac will find a solution to the issue. Overall, I have loved the car and remain optimistic about its future performance.

    I purchased this car in Jan. 2014. Although I experienced some issues such as the headliner falling, headlamps going out, and having to replace shocks, struts, and steering gear, I am disappointed to report that my heated seats are not working during the coldest weather of the season. As a consumer, I expect a certain level of quality from a luxury car and unfortunately, this experience has not met my expectations. I hope that GM will take steps to improve their products in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    We purchased the platinum edition because we liked the unique grille and wheels. While the salesman was demonstrating the features to my wife, the radio suddenly went to full volume. Despite the salesman's attempts to turn it down, the volume would return to full as soon as he removed his finger from the button. They informed us that it required a software update and took it to the shop. After an hour, he returned and resumed the demonstration, but the issue persisted. Not only did the volume increase on its own, but it also cannot be turned off. Unfortunately, this is the third time we are sending it back for the same issue, along with other electronic problems such as the seat memory not working and the Bluetooth connection being lost frequently.

    This car is absolutely gorgeous and a real head-turner. However, I experienced some issues with the touch screen within a year of purchasing the car. The bottom half stopped working, and eventually, the entire screen went out. I haven't had a chance to check the suspension yet, but I suspect it may be going out as well. Additionally, the hazard lights come on by themselves quite often. After doing some research, I found that many other owners of this make and model have experienced the same issues. If you own this car and are experiencing similar problems, I encourage you to report them to Cadillac so they can address the issue.

    Hey there! Just wanted to give you a heads up that some Cadillac owners have reported issues with their transmissions. I did some research and found that some owners have experienced problems after 100,000 miles. Unfortunately, I'm already experiencing some hard shifting in my own car.     I purchased a 2013 XTS Premium 500 miles ago and so far, it has been great. The interior materials are of premium quality and the CUE system, which was initially a little tough, is now very user-friendly. The ride is very quiet and stable, and I feel that it has plenty of power. In fact, I don't see where you would need more performance. It really gets up and goes, and I am getting 28-30 mpg on the highway. I have had many new vehicles in the past 5 years, and this one is as good or better than any high-end import vehicle, including Mercedes or Audi. The technology is far better than any other car in its segment, and the price for what it is, is a real bargain hands down. If you are looking for a great deal, this is the best car in the segment. I have driven all of its competitors and none of them compare.

    When considering your purchase, take a moment to appreciate all that you get for your money with the XTS. Not only does it boast an elegant appearance, but it is also spacious and comfortable throughout. The performance is exceptional - simply take it for a drive and note the fine brakes, steering, and ride. Additionally, the warranty is excellent and Cadillac dealerships are easily accessible. In the event that you cannot find a Cadillac service center, there are GM dealerships located everywhere. With so much to love, why spend twice as much on a German car?

    This is my first Cadillac. As a lifelong Ford fan (I'm 65 and my Pa before me), I was hesitant to switch brands. However, our Cadillac lease return with 24,000 miles was exceptionally clean and I couldn't resist. The car feels like a blast from the past, with its comfortable and quiet ride that reminds me of the big cars of yesteryear. It's the perfect road car, offering both comfort and superb handling. While it's not a sports car, it's exactly what I need for long drives. I can drive for 8 hours, step out of the car (albeit with a little stretch), and enjoy a cold one in the lounge. The spacious trunk is an added bonus. The only downside is the touch screen and touch bar climate/sound controls. While they look sleek, they're not very user-friendly and can be distracting while driving. Caddy would do better with more intuitive controls that are easier to use while on the road. Overall, this car offers everything I want in one package. I'm thrilled to have found a car that feels like it was made just for me. Go Detroit!
