The Cadillac STS (Seville Touring Sedan) is a mid-sized luxury 4-door sedan manufactured and marketed by General Motors from 2004 to 2011 for the 2005 to 2011 model years. A version of the STS was marketed in China as the SLS through 2013.
It was equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission with performance algorithm shifting and driver shift control.

The STS was the successor to the Cadillac Seville, which beginning in 1987 was available as an upscale performance-oriented STS (for Seville Touring Sedan) version.

To fix this issue, replace the steering wheel position sensor by following specific steps, including disabling the air bag system, removing the lower dash panels, removing the intermediate shaft, and sliding the sensor out.

- Summary: The Cadillac Company sent me a letter several years ago informing me of a premature timing chain wear and the illumination of the Service Engine light. They knew about this defective engine problem but they did not recall the vehicle. Instead they extended the engine warranty to 10 years or 120,000 miles. I have only 90,000 miles on my vehicle but I've owned it for over 10 years and now the check engine light is illuminated. The Cadillac dealer refuses to extend the warranty. This is a safety issue because if the engine were to fail the driver would also lose power steering and power brakes putting the safety of the vehicle occupants and others at risk. I believe that this vehicle and other GM vehicles with the 3.6 liter engine should be recalled and repaired at no cost to the vehicle owner.

IT WAS NEVER ADDRESSED BY THE BODY SHOP. ALSO PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT THE STEERING HAD AN ISSUE CAUSING PAIN TO MY SHOULDER. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS WRONG AFTER THE STEERING SERVICE LIGHT REMAINED AFTER A GEAR REPLACEMENT AND THE SAME ISSUE CAUSED PAIN. TIME PASSED AND THE SHOULDER GOT WORSE. THERE HAS BEEN 2 WHEEL SENSORS WITH ISSUES. THE DEALER NEVER TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A SPECIAL WARRANTY FOR THE TIMING BELT WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. I AM ALSO NOW HAVING ISSUES WITH THE COMPUTER SCREEN. I CANNOT CHANGE THE TIME ANYMORE.

Vehicle year: 2010
I bought my car at the end of August when only V6 AWD models were available. Although I traded my V8 STS, I don't feel like I took a step down. The V6 DI engine is great and I don't miss the V8 at all. So far, this car has been solid in all aspects - it handles well, is comfortable, reliable, fuel-efficient, and fast enough. In my opinion, this car competes favorably with BMW, MB, and other luxury brands. After negotiating the final price, there really is no comparison because you pay a lot less for this car. As a car enthusiast, I value the raw driving experience over the status of a label (although a Caddy still has some clout left). The STS is right there and if the V8 G8 had AWD, I would be driving that.

I leased my 2008 STS in late December 2007. Although the dealer has been great, I have experienced several issues with the car, including a failed camshaft sensor, a failed right side cam at 13,000 miles, defective FOBs, five burned-out lights, and a defective driver's seat lumbar system. Unfortunately, the car has spent too much time in the service bay. As a result, I have decided not to lease or buy another GM product. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I've only had my STS for two months, but I am already very pleased with my decision to buy the 2006 STS. It is more of a sports car than I expected, and the V6 engine has plenty of power for the car. I got it loaded and I am enjoying it very much. I think any complaints you may read here are overblown, so you will definitely be glad you bought this car. I just can't comment about the long term reliability because I have only owned it for two months. Its fuel economy has been 23 mpg highway / 14 mpg city.

Owning and driving this beauty is an absolute pleasure. Although there may be the occasional glitch, such as the interior not being as prestigious as it could be, the 320 hp is awesome. The sound system is beyond prestigious and it handles like a sports car born on the track. What a sweet ride! You built it right this time, Caddy. The headlight and light system mated to the front fascia is a designer's showpiece.

This car is 30 grand cheaper than Mercedes and runs better. You won't have a service engine light come on every day like with German vehicles. The 6 cylinder gets 19.7 mpg combined even with hard driving, and is extremely quick off the line and very quiet. We can't believe how much we enjoy this car. The seats, performance, Bose Audio and Wood grain are above expectations.

Although I have only driven 56k miles, I have experienced several electrical issues with this car, which have made it unusable at times. Unfortunately, the dealer service has not been helpful in resolving these issues. However, I have found a reliable independent mechanic who has been able to repair most of the issues. Despite this, I still believe that the car is not up to the standard that I expected from a brand like Cadillac. My experience with this car has been disappointing and I will not be purchasing another Cadillac in the future.

I've read many reviews and I agree that the ride is a little firmer than my 2001 SLS. I'm not used to a bumpier ride, but I'm getting used to it. The mileage is 13 in town and 19 on the road with high test and Cadillac recommended fuel (Texaco). I test drove an 80,000 mile BMW 750i before and it was much nicer, but it was also the same price. This car has a lot of potential, but unfortunately my experience with it has been disappointing. The quality of the car and the dealer service have not met my expectations. I have had several breakdowns that required tows and the repeated problems have not been resolved by the dealer. This is not what I would expect from a car like this. Additionally, the transmission can be rough and uncertain at low speeds and the electronics have not worked as advertised or designed.

Although there were some issues with the car's performance, I have identified some areas that can be improved. The ride could be made more comfortable, and the excessive road noise at highway speeds needs to be addressed. Additionally, the front end could be made more stable when going over small speed bumps. The front struts were replaced shortly after purchase, which helped to improve the car's performance. I also noticed that there is a difference in tire size between the front and rear, which negates tire rotation. Finally, I have observed that the car averages about 14 mpg in city driving, which is lower than the advertised 17 mpg. These issues need to be addressed in order to improve the car's overall performance.

Hey there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share some thoughts on the 2006 STS. While it's a great car overall, there are a few things that could be improved. For example, the foot-well is quite cramped, which can be uncomfortable for taller drivers like myself. Additionally, the glove compartment is a bit small for such a large car - once you've got the owner's manual in there, there's not much room left! Finally, the trunk access could be better, and the dash design is a bit bland. Overall though, it's still a great car!
