The Cadillac SRX is a mid-size luxury SUV and compact luxury crossover SUV (CUV) manufactured and marketed by Cadillac over two generations: the first generation as a five-door, three-row, seven-passenger CUV (2003–2009), and the second generation as a five-door, two-row, five-passenger CUV (2010–2016) – the latter becoming Cadillac's best selling model in the United States.
First generation (2004)
Engine options included the 255 hp (190 kW) High-Feature V6 and the 4.6 L 320 hp (239 kW) Northstar V8. It was based on the GM Sigma platform and came with a five or six-speed automatic transmission; rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive and MagneRide were available. As a Sigma platform vehicle, the first generation SRX had a longitudinally mounted front engine, longitudinal transmission mounted behind the engine, and a rear drive differential. The AWD option was implemented with a transfer case mounted to the rear of the transmission, with a propeller shaft forward to a front differential to power the front wheels.
An all-leather interior and curtain side airbags were standard in both models. Heated front seats and wood interior trim were standard in the V8 and available as options in the V6. DVD, sunroof, navigation system, and a power foldable third-row seat were all available options. However the third row was no longer available for the 2010 model year on the SRX.
The base price was US$38,880 for the V6 and US$45,880 for the V8 version.
The SRX won Car and Driver's Five Best Trucks "luxury SUV" award for 2004, 2005 and 2006 and was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2004.
The first generation SRX never had the V Series performance model available.
The first generation SRX was available through the 2009 model year.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found the 2005-08 SRX worst in its class for driver fatalities with a death rate of 63 compared to its class average of 23.

I did inquire with GM and they said they did at one time reimburse owners to get headlights replaced but that offer expired Well there are people out there driving these Dangerous cars that were not notified of this. - Summary: To whom it may concern, I am writing this as a complaint on the rear toe link separation recall that was performed on our 2012 Cadillac SRX. We installed new tires on our SRX in August 2022 (Michelin Defender 235/55 R20) with a mileage of 108,452 just due to this being our sons car and wanted him to be safe on the road. In December of 2022 we had the recall performed at Lakeside Chevrolet in Rockwall Texas and the mileage was 110,893. Since the recall, we have been through 2 sets of tires on the back of this vehicle in less than 2 years with the outer edge of the tires being worn down to the cords. The car has 119,051 on it now. I am very angry as we tried to have the alignment performed and were told that these links that were installed can not be adjusted and will cost me another $650 to replace and another $130 for the alignment. The vehicle did not have any issues until we had the recall performed. We are now out $1404 for tires and $130 for an alignment that can’t be performed unless the links are replaced with adjustable units. My total to get this taken care of is over $2200 which was created by your recall parts. I would like to have someone reply to this email to let me know what can be done to take care of this situation.

Driving this vehicle at night poses a risk and a safety hazard for me as the driver, as I cannot see the road as well as I should be able to. I often have to drive with my bright lights on to see properly. This is a real concern of mine and wanted to ask if there is anything that your organization can do to assist me with the issue. I recently purchased a V8 AWD with the sport package and I must say, it has been an absolute joy to drive. While the V6 SRX is certainly a great option, the V8 provides an extra level of enjoyment that is well worth the slightly reduced gas mileage. As someone who has owned luxury cars from various countries, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I did not encounter any issues with this vehicle in the first 4 months and 4000 miles of ownership. The SRX handles beautifully, with a very responsive and controlled ride, and the six-speed transmission shifts seamlessly. The workmanship and new interior are truly world-class. In my opinion, this is the best crossover on the market and outperforms even the Lexus.

I recently purchased a fully loaded Performance SRX without all-wheel for my wife and I couldn't be happier. In fact, I felt compelled to write a blog about it, which is something I've never done before. As an owner of a 3 series BMW myself, I was initially drawn to the car's stylish design. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the ride and the abundance of features it offers. It's clear that a lot of thought went into the car's design. My wife loves it too, which makes me even happier. Sometimes, when I go to the garage, I find myself pausing for a moment before deciding which keys to grab.

The 2008 Cadillac SRX was built on the CTS chassis, which means it's the size of an SUV with the handling of a sedan. The power is great and the comfort is exceptional. There is a huge amount of creature comfort in that car. Road and wind noise are minimal. As long as you maintain the car, it will run smoothly. It's a good solid buy.

After test driving several SUV and crossover vehicles, we ultimately chose the SRX. We found it to be more comfortable than the X3 and Q5, and it offered better value for our money. The vehicle feels heavier and more substantial on the road than many other vehicles of a similar size and cost. Additionally, we were pleased with its fuel mileage and highway manners. The cargo room is adequate, and the cargo gate is a nice feature that keeps things in place in the hatch. We have had a great experience with Cadillac service and dealer attention, which is second to none. The full maintenance for three years is also a great perk, as is the free car wash anytime and roadside service. And let's not forget about ONSTAR. We previously owned a 2007 Suburban, which was large and comfortable, but we think the SRX is just as great.

The Cadillac SRX is a fantastic crossover SUV that is often overlooked by shoppers in this price range who tend to go for the Acura MDX. Personally, I didn't want an MDX because it's often referred to as a 'mommy-mobile', so I opted for the SRX instead. I'm thoroughly impressed with it so far - it has great handling, a smooth ride, and a luxurious interior. The only minor issues are a couple of squeaks from the cargo area and some occasional wind noise.

I purchased my Cadillac SRX with 12k miles on it. Although the car looks nice and drives alright, I have had some issues with it. The shifting problem was never resolved despite the dealership saying it had been fixed. When I got a flat tire, I found that there was nothing but a can of fix-a-flat that came with the car. Cadillac expects you to call roadside assistance, but luckily my car was in my driveway when I got the flat. I had to call a tow truck, but it all worked out in the end. The cue system started acting up at around 30k miles, but the dealership said it was fine. Unfortunately, at 60148 miles, the cue system went out and Cadillac refused to cover it because I was 148 miles over warranty. I was able to find a new screen on Amazon for $80 and had a local mechanic install it for an additional $80. At around 70k miles, I noticed that my tires were not holding air. It turned out that my rims had corroded so much that the tire wouldn't seal to the rim. The Cadillac dealer said I needed 4 new rims, but I took it to another shop and paid the labor cost for them to grind the rims so that they would seal. The other repair place in town was able to do the job. At 80k miles, the battery needed to be replaced, and at 90k miles, the AC went out. I also began to notice that the paint on the hood of my car was looking like it was bubbled. The AC compressor needs to be replaced, which will cost $1200. This is frustrating, but I am hopeful that it will be resolved soon. Before I get a chance to trade it in, my low oil light comes on. Apparently, my car is now using oil. It's not leaking, so it must be using it. Overall, I have had some issues with my Cadillac SRX, but I am hopeful that they will be resolved soon.

Although there have been some issues with my car, I am confident that they will be resolved. I have experienced some minor problems with the sunroof, radio, battery, and wipers, but I trust that the dealership will be able to fix them. While there has been a burning smell in the car, I am working with GM to address the issue. Overall, I am satisfied with my car and believe that any remaining issues will be resolved in a timely and professional manner.

I leased this vehicle for 3 years and wish it was 2. However, during an out of state trip, the car broke down and had to be towed. After inspection, it was discovered that the issue was related to the oil. The car burns oil at a high rate and requires only synthetic oil, which according to Cadillac, should be good for 6 to 7 thousand miles. Despite these challenges, I am confident that this car can be a reliable and enjoyable vehicle with proper maintenance and care.

Avoid purchasing this car at all costs! My 2015 model has been nothing but trouble since I bought it a year and a half ago. Unfortunately, GM does not stand behind their products. Recently, my low beam lights stopped working and I was informed that it would cost a whopping $1800 to replace them, and that's within just 4 years! I have never had to replace my lights in any other car within such a short period of time. There have been numerous other issues with this car that make it a poor investment.
