Common Cadillac Ct5 problems
The Cadillac CT5, a luxury compact sedan, has been reported to have several common problems based on complaints from owners.
Another common problem reported by owners is the quality of the interior, particularly the cupholders, which are described as shallow and poorly bolstered. This can lead to spills and inconvenience for drivers and passengers.
Additionally, some owners have reported issues with the electronic stability control and airbags, as well as problems with the structure and build of the vehicle. These issues can affect the safety and reliability of the CT5, potentially leading to costly repairs and decreased owner satisfaction.
The 2020 model year of the Cadillac CT5 has been identified as the worst year due to extensive troubles and high repair costs, including loud noises from the engine, electrical system issues, lane departure assist failure, and the check engine light illuminating unnecessarily. These problems can cause sudden trips to the repair shop for owners, making the 2020 CT5 a year to avoid.
In conclusion, while the Cadillac CT5 offers a range of luxury features and performance options, it is essential to be aware of these common problems and consider the potential impact on reliability and owner satisfaction when choosing a model year and trim level. Regular maintenance and careful driving can help extend the lifespan of the CT5, but potential buyers should also be prepared for the possibility of encountering these issues and the associated repair costs.

- VIN: 1G6DZ5RW3N0
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I purchased vehicle on 7/28/22 from Bayview Cadillac in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. On August 2, 2022, I noticed that my brakes were making a loud, harsh, scraping noise when coming to a full stop. Brakes also felt like they were going to lock up or stutter. On August 3, 2022, I brought the car back to the dealership to be serviced. On August 4, 2022, dealership told me that GM and Brembo (brake manufacturer) KNEW of this issue and were working on a bulletin to fix issue but that the bulletin would not be issued until late 2022 or early 2023. GM refused to take back vehicle in this dangerous condition with faulty brakes. Apparently ALL Brembo brakes across many different car manufacturers are having same issue. GM states it is "not a safety concern", however, the brakes are clearly faulty and dangerous. NHTSA should investigate this issue before someone is really hurt or dead.

Your style and visual cues are outstanding! I have received a lot of compliments since purchasing. The interior is very comfortable with easy-to-use and read displays. There is a lot of power and performance with a seamless transmission. As someone who is 6'5, my only consistent complaint is that the telescoping steering wheel should have more range, and the rearview mirror as well. In a sea of BMW, Audi, and Mercedes, this car stands out and holds its ground. It's a very nice place to be. It's also very fun to drive, and when you want to dance, it responds and puts a smile on your face every time.

This car is fantastic! I've only driven it for 1100 miles, but I'm already well pleased with it. I highly recommend the upgraded V6 Twin Turbocharged engine - it's so much fun to drive with the extra power. The interior is of great quality, but the handling and performance of the V6 is what really sold me on this car. I have the premium luxury model with the optional V6 engine in crystal white tri-coat paint with the maple sugar interior, and it looks absolutely fantastic. Overall, GM has done a solid job with this one!

I recently purchased a 2023 CT5 Premium Luxury with the 3.0 6 Cyl twin turbo and I absolutely love it! The handling is amazing and I appreciate the ability to easily get the back in and out when needed. The brakes are very good and I am getting 20 mpg in town and 30 mpg on the highway. The service at Cadillac has been exceptional, as usual. I had a minor recall and they came to my home to pick up the car, leaving me a loaner. They fixed it, washed it, filled it with gas, and returned it to me within 3 hours. As a car enthusiast and a fan of Cadillacs, I am thrilled with my purchase!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my new '22 CT5-V (not the Blackwing). I traded in my 2014 XTS vSport Caddy for it about 1 1/2 years ago and got a great deal. Although it was a bit pricey, it was definitely worth it. The car is absolutely stunning in vivid white and turns heads wherever I go. I've put about 10K miles on it so far and haven't had any problems. The car has multiple driving modes depending on your mood, which is really cool. It's a bit smaller and stiffer than my XTS, but I actually prefer it. Thanks for listening!

The 6 cylinder had a lot of pickup, smooth and quite. However, I was a bit disappointed with the interior as it had a lot of plastic and the backseat lacked headroom. Considering the price of $50,000, I was expecting more luxury.

Vehicle year: 2020
I recently had the chance to drive the CT5 for a few days while my 2017 CTS Vsport was in service. Here are my thoughts: On the positive side, the car feels roomier inside despite the smaller exterior dimensions. The car looks great and the infotainment system is crisp, less glitchy and easier to use. There is also more storage space compared to the previous generation, which is a plus. However, the car is underpowered with a 230hp 4 cylinder engine, which is comparable to a VW Passat. This is not what you would expect from a premium sedan. The car feels slow and will not impress seasoned luxury car buyers. Another drawback is the outdated gauges, which look like they were designed in the early nineties. Overall, the car is a downgrade compared to the previous generation. While the looks might convince a few buyers to give it a try, it falls short of the competition. It is unfortunate that a brand new car feels like a downgrade. Although it has a price advantage, the shortcomings are too obvious. While I wouldn't label this car as a failure, it doesn't offer anything memorable that would make me want to upgrade to it.

Hello! I've been driving the V6 3.0 liter version of this car for a few months now and I must say that I was a bit surprised by some aspects of it, given that this is supposedly a top-of-the-line vehicle. When I compare it to my old BMW 340i which had the same specs - 3.0 liter V6, 335 hp - it's like night and day. In the 340i, you just had to look at the gas pedal and it was in a different time zone already, whereas the CT5 was hopelessly lagging in comparison. However, I must say that the cameras are superb, much better than on the BMW. Although there are some small irritations, such as having to engage the auto hold button every time I start the car, which is a bit nuts, the interior and buttons feel a bit cheap. Overall, it's a decent car with some great features.

The three-month-old 2023 CT5 Premium Luxury Twin Turbo experienced a malfunction after only 1400 miles. Despite the engine winding up, there was no ignition. Fortunately, as it is a lease, the issue is now the responsibility of the dealership.
