- Summary: The Radiator has a crack in the upper left front of the core causing the fluid to leak and lose pressure causing the engine to overheat. This is a manufacture defect that has not been addressed as of 10/16/2024. The leak was discovered by a certified GM mechanic at a dealership when doing routine maintenance and inspection. The vehicle has never had any indication or advisory light that would alert the operator. As the engine overheats it can cause many of the other components of the vehicle to disable, including but not limited to the ADAS systems as well as power steering and/or collision safety components. This is a manufactures defect with the aluminum radiator that needs to be addressed immediately. Given the information from multiple GM dealerships the amount of newer low mileage Blazers that have been confronted with this problem is unprecedented. This not only creates a danger for the passengers of the vehicle but also every other vehicle on the road.

Less than 1 yr later, thermostat is stuck on cold, no ax or heat, drivers assist reduced notice. Same issues as previous documented complaints. The frustration is why this known issue is not covered under warranty or recall! I just had my 50k maintenance service done while this issue was occurring- service told me “well we cleared the codes” , 2 days later check engine is on, temp stuck on cold, fan is over worked and no a/c or heat- and driver assist turns off. The safety issues around causing more engine damage by improper cooling and reduction of driving assistance. Additionally, parking issue with vehicle not recognizing it’s in park and having to wiggle or jam the shifter- car drains battery and won’t lock until resolved. Car is took expensive to have a $1200 replacement not covered under warranty!

I have to move the shifter from park to another gear several times in order to keep this from appearing and allowing me to turn my vehicle off. I can take up to 5-6 times before I can get the vehicle to allow me to turn it off. I'm not really sure if it is or isn't in park even when I do this at that point. I have had this happen on multiple occasions over multiple months.

- Summary: 2020 Chevy Blazer - Shift to Park while Gear is already in Park: While putting the gear in park, the warning chime to shift it into park is initiated. It has happened 3 to 4 times in the past three days. I took the vehicle to the Local Chevy Dealership. The Service Team/Dept. diagnosed that the Transmission Shifter Unit Assembly must be replaced. The 2019 Chevy Blazer had these issues which prompted a TSB/Recall however it wasn't extended to the 2020-year models and Chevy Dealership refused to include it as a warranted repair which just passed 44,000 miles. This is a safety issue, and it should be replaced without additional cost to customer as this issue was already identified as a safety concern in 2019, however Chevy does not want to identify the issue as a covered repair per the manufactures warranty.

Vehicle year: 2001
I recently purchased a 2001 Blazer LT with 95,000 miles on it. It was garage kept and looked like it had just come off the showroom floor. The only issue was a shimmy in the front end, which I had fixed by replacing the sway bar. I also took the initiative to do a lot of maintenance work on it, including replacing the shocks, manifold gasket, valve cover gaskets, and fuel pump in the gas tank. I also did a complete tune-up, changed the transmission fluid, gear oil, and oil, and flushed the brake lines, power steering lines, and radiator. To enhance its performance, I added BG additive when changing the oil and Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner to every tank of gas. Now, it runs and rides like new!

The car has had several issues, including the check engine light, faded side moldings, and rubber coming off both front doors. However, the most significant problem is a persistent noise from the muffler that sounds like a tin can popping. Despite the dealer's claim that this is normal, I have consulted with mechanics who have confirmed that it is not. I am confident that the issue lies with a bent muffler and I will not accept 'no' for an answer. Although there is still warranty on the car, I understand that some dealers may be hesitant to investigate the issue thoroughly. Nevertheless, I am determined to have this problem resolved once and for all.

The Blazer 2LT has quick acceleration in sports mode, which I handle very well. It's so easy to rev up to 80 mph on the expressway, maybe due to the aerodynamic hood and windshield that help cut through wind bursts. While cruising, the 2LT has one of the smoothest rides in an SUV.

I had a bit of deja-vu when I started looking for mid-size SUVs again in 2020. Back in April 2017, I was in the same boat and ended up with a Camaro SS instead. However, with all the SUVs and pickups on the road, finding a time and place to enjoy the Camaro was becoming a challenge. So, I decided to join the crowd and ended up at the same Chevy dealer where I got the Camaro. They had a bunch of Blazer SUVs that had been sitting on the lot for a while. After test driving both a V6 and Turbo 4 Blazer, I was grinning from ear-to-ear. The Blazer has an improved Camaro interior, which I loved. Here's my review of the vehicle: I got a V6 RS FWD Blazer with many add-ons, including a sunroof and ventilated seats. This SUV is quick, even in The cargo area is spacious and the overall layout, along with the little details, make it very user-friendly. The rear seat is surprisingly roomy, with ample legroom, headroom, and sliding/tilting seats that allow you to transport everyone comfortably. The driver/passenger space is just like a Camaro's, with a few upgrades and one minor issue. The heating/ventilation on the seats retains the last setting or will automatically adjust the seat temperature along with the blower A/C settings. Additionally, there is an electric lockable glove box, and a switch to turn off the engine's auto-off feature has been added. However, there are some cons as well. If you opt for one of the higher trim levels or order the drivers' assistance packages, there may be a learning curve to smoothly operate this vehicle. Chevy has mounted the audio 'subwoofers' in the doors, even with the top-of-the-line 8-speaker Bose setup, which may not be ideal for those who prefer a more refined sound. Another cost-cutting measure is the use of cheap, hard plastic surfaces throughout the passenger compartment, which tend to attract dust. A popular option would be for GM to offer a dash/door padding package, which would be a great addition. One last issue is the placement of the electric parking brake control button, which is located way over by the driver's door on the lower dash. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Blazer is a great vehicle overall. If you want the Turbo 4, go for the 3LT, and if you want the V6, get the RS.These two trims offer most of the features that make this vehicle a joy to drive every day. I highly recommend choosing a trim level that includes the 360° HD cameras, especially if you live in an area with narrow roads and parking spaces. Additionally, I suggest adding the 'Cargo Management System' option, which is a clever device that addresses almost all of my concerns about open cargo areas. I turned off the 'Safety Alert Seat' feature quickly, as it vibrates the driver's seat bottom cushion instead of beeping when any of the driver assistance warnings go off. Although the vibrating seat is supposed to indicate the direction of the 'danger,' my butt hasn't learned directions yet. It's worth noting that rain-sensing wipers and a heads-up display are not available on any trim level, and wireless phone charging is only available on the Premiere trim, which I find surprising even though I don't need them.

Unfortunately, I experienced several issues with it such as the rear end going out shortly after purchase, front end ball joints failing twice, A/C compressor leaking, driver window motor quitting, mirrors falling off, and ABS not working properly (brakes worked better after taking out the fuse for the ABS). Additionally, the heater core was fixed but clogged up again 6 months later. However, I found a temporary solution to make it through the winter by just blowing it out with a water hose (I wouldn't recommend buying a new heater core). Lastly, the engine leaked water out of the intake and I have decided to send it to the crusher ASAP.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the car. It sounds like you've had a lot of issues with it since the first day. From the rear wiper pump to the drivers side door motor, u-joint, both front wheel hubs, and even the rear trim panel, it seems like everything has needed to be replaced. I can imagine how frustrating that must be. Additionally, the drivers side seat doesn't work right, the rear seat doesn't fold down, and the handle broke. On top of that, there's a water leak from the front windshield that's causing problems. It's understandable that you feel like the car is going to fall apart when you drive it. Despite all of these issues, it's good to hear that the car has been reliable for the mechanic.

I've been keeping up with the maintenance of my police car/taxi schedule, which is twice as much as the usual. Although I've had a few issues with the radiators, AC systems, transmission, heater core, and front differential, I've managed to keep it in great shape. Despite the setbacks, I've invested over 16k in total repairs, including fire damage. It looks amazing, and people often compliment me on how clean the motor is. My wife isn't a fan of it, and when I got rear-ended, she was secretly hoping it would be totaled. I miss my Astro, which ran for over 275K. What happened, Chevrolet?
