I bought my car used and it has now clocked 78,000 miles, but I still love it! Although I did have one major issue with it when the heater core went out in the dead of winter. Living in the Pacific Northwest, it wasn't the most pleasant experience, but thankfully the core was replaced under warranty. I absolutely adore the engine! It has great power and the exhaust note is music to my ears! The heated leather seats are amazing and the memory feature is a great touch. I've taken it on quite a few road trips and it's always been very comfortable. The car rides and handles nicely, and I always feel safe. The 4X4 has come in handy a few times and it worked just like it should. I felt really surefooted in the snow this winter. The gas mileage is fine, but I wasn't expecting high numbers since it's a 4X4. I didn't buy it for the gas mileage.

I've owned my LS ZR2 for six years now and I absolutely love it! It's fantastic in the snow, has great off-roading capabilities, and the front seats are incredibly comfortable. I adore how it handles and the engine has plenty of power. While it's not a sports car, the pickup is pretty good. In the four years I've owned it, I've only had to make minor repairs, with the most major being the fuel pump. As with all vehicles, there are a few cons. The visibility is limited, but after driving it for a while, you learn how to see everything you need to. If you're not used to it, just be extra cautious. The recliner levers are poor quality, so be sure not to yank on them too hard or try to force them (like my dad did) or you'll break them. Also, while the two-door style looks incredible, it's not very practical if you have kids or need to get in and out of the back frequently. Overall, I think this is an amazing vehicle and it's a lot of fun to drive, especially off-road. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this car. However, do keep in mind that I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer S10 LS ZR2, which is a specialty package for off-roading. But I've heard great things about the LS as well. :)

I've had this LT 2000 Blazer for around 10 years now, and it's been a great ride. Despite having 156,000 miles on it, the 4x4 still works perfectly. I did have an issue with it not working at one point, but I replaced all the vacuum lines, which were dry rotting, and it's been working like a charm ever since. The CD player still works too, which is surprising considering it's 16 years old! I did have some overheating problems in the past, but I was able to solve them by replacing the thermostat, antifreeze, and radiator. The antifreeze is still clean, which is a testament to the quality of the car. The motor has been running strong and hasn't given me any problems. I did replace the plugs and wires, and last summer I replaced all the rotors/pads and a caliper with GM parts from Amazon and did the labor myself. The brakes are now great. The car does need a lower ball joint and all the rubber bushings underneath the vehicle are rotten. I have replaced one side of the sway bar rubber bushings, and the new blue ones look great. The car is starting to rust, but that was a problem I noticed when I bought it. It looks like it was from a northern state with a lot of road salt. The transmission did need a rebuild last summer, but it's been great ever since. I was told that someone had put the wrong fluid in the transmission, which caused the issue. It cost me $850 to fix, but it was worth it. The only thing I don't like about the car is the little bulbs that light up the buttons on the steering wheel. They should have used LEDs instead of bulbs! They can be replaced though. The rear wiper motor is fried, but I rarely used it, so I'll replace it with a junkyard motor. Overall, it's been a really good vehicle. The gas mileage could be better, but I would definitely buy it again. It recently handled over a foot of snow/ice with ease thanks to the 4wd and Cooper tires.

Congratulations on your purchase of a Blazer! It sounds like you have a lot of experience with these vehicles, which is great. Just a heads up, after about 120k, you may encounter some common issues such as ball joints, leaky oil lines, heater core, squeaky rear window, recliner handles breaking off, and door hinge bushings. However, if you maintain your vehicle properly, it should treat you well. If your vehicle still has Dex-cool in it (orange anti-freeze), it may be a good idea to get it flushed and replaced with the regular green stuff to avoid any potential headaches. While the fuel economy may not be the best, proper maintenance is key. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It sounds like the SUV has been reliable for you, which is great to hear. I understand that the interior may feel a bit cramped with car seats and kids in the back, and the spare tire placement can be inconvenient. However, it's good to know that the gas mileage is decent for an SUV. Overall, it seems like this SUV could be a good option if you can find a great deal. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us!

The car experienced multiple transmission problems, with the first occurring at 12000 miles, which required a transmission rebuild at 43000 miles. In addition, there were other frustrating issues, including three recalls and high maintenance costs. Despite these challenges, the car was still rough to ride even when it was brand new. Unfortunately, the issues were not severe enough to qualify for the lemon law. Based on this experience, I have decided that my next car will be a Honda.

I have a black 2000 ZR2 Blazer with 53k on it now, had 24k when I bought it a little over 3 years ago. I really like the looks and features of this car. However, I have had some issues with it, which I see others have also experienced. For instance, the ball joint on the passenger side went bad, and the seat level on the passenger seat broke. There is also a lot of rattling of panels of doors, and in the back, the spare tire blocks 96% of the view to the rear. Additionally, the gas gauge broke, the heater core went, the CD player went dead, and the sunroof had to be changed out 3 times. Despite these issues, I still like the car, but would trade it in if I could.

It looked good until the inside knobs started to fall off. I called Maroone (or should I say Moranees) and they did an overall check. Unfortunately, I think they made it worse. I've spent more money on my new vehicle than on my 12-year-old Camry, which is still going strong. Today, I found a rust spot in the back of the car, even though it's only 3 years old. I'm just waiting for it to fall apart.

The design of this vehicle has some issues that need to be addressed. A recall for the front end of this car would have been appropriate. I have had to replace the ball joint on both front wheels twice in just 4 years, and now I have also had to replace both wheel bearings. It is disappointing to have experienced these issues and it has impacted my decision to purchase another Chevy SUV in the future.
