Common 2020 Chevrolet Blazer problems
The 2020 Chevrolet Blazer has been reported to have several common problems by its owners. These issues span across various components of the vehicle, including the exhaust, transmission, climate system, brakes, engine cooling, noises and leaks, and the engine itself.
Exhaust issues are a common complaint among 2020 Blazer owners. These problems include muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, and leaks. The muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, and exhaust manifold are all part of the vehicle's exhaust system, which helps to reduce noise and filter exhaust gases. Heat shields are designed to protect the vehicle and its occupants from excessive heat generated by the exhaust system. Leaks in any of these components can lead to reduced performance, increased noise, and potential safety hazards.
Transmission problems are another area of concern for 2020 Blazer owners. Issues reported include gear selector and linkage, transmission computer, transmission sensor or solenoid, clutch adjustment, rough shifting, slipping transmission, and leaks. These problems can affect the vehicle's performance, fuel efficiency, and overall drivability. In some cases, transmission issues may require significant repairs or even replacement, which can be costly.
The climate system in the 2020 Blazer has also been a source of complaints. Problems include AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, and refrigerant leakage. These issues can affect the vehicle's ability to maintain a comfortable temperature, which can be particularly problematic in extreme weather conditions. Electrical failures and refrigerant leaks can further complicate matters, potentially requiring expensive repairs.
Brakes are a critical safety component in any vehicle, and issues with the brakes in the 2020 Blazer have been reported by some owners. Problems include premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, and regenerative braking. These issues can affect the vehicle's stopping ability, potentially posing a safety hazard. Regular maintenance and inspections are essential to ensure the brakes are functioning properly.
Engine cooling issues have also been reported by 2020 Blazer owners. Problems include radiator, cooling fan, water pump, thermostat, antifreeze leaks, overheating, accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, and oil leaks. These issues can affect the engine's performance and longevity, potentially leading to costly repairs or even engine failure. Regular maintenance and inspections are crucial to prevent these problems.
Noises and leaks are another area of concern for 2020 Blazer owners. Problems include squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks. These issues can affect the vehicle's comfort and overall driving experience. In some cases, noises and leaks may indicate more significant problems with the vehicle's components.
In summary, the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer has been reported to have several common problems by its owners, including exhaust issues, transmission problems, climate system failures, brake concerns, engine cooling problems, and noises and leaks. Regular maintenance and inspections are essential to ensure the vehicle is functioning properly and to prevent potential safety hazards.

It has happened 3 to 4 times in the past three days. I took the vehicle to the Local Chevy Dealership. The Service Team/Dept. diagnosed that the Transmission Shifter Unit Assembly must be replaced. The 2019 Chevy Blazer had these issues which prompted a TSB/Recall however it wasn't extended to the 2020-year models and Chevy Dealership refused to include it as a warranted repair which just passed 44,000 miles. This is a safety issue, and it should be replaced without additional cost to customer as this issue was already identified as a safety concern in 2019, however Chevy does not want to identify the issue as a covered repair per the manufactures warranty.

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-05-17
- VIN: 3GNKBCRS2LS
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: Approximately three weeks ago, our 2020 Chevrolet Blazer's check engine light came on. It has a little over 63,000 miles on it. I took it to a private service garage where they diagnosed the code as P0128, or coolant system issue. They concluded that it was the thermostat. I did some checking on the warranty and it turns out that the warranty on this car expired at 61,066 miles. I then took it to Serra Chevrolet in Grand Blanc, MI where they diagnosed the same error code, or P0128. They took the car back to give me a service estimate and when they returned they diagnosed not only the thermostat as defective. This has become a common problem with this car and the 3.6 liter engine in particular. We have been told that this is a "known issue" by two different General Motors dealerships, specifically in their respective service departments. However, the owners are now having to pay for the complete replacement, both parts and labor, for these issues. Given the fact that these are a known issue, it seems to me that these need to be elevated to at least a bulletin, if not a full recall. The repair and replacement for the thermostat and sensor is in excess of $1,000. Again, since this is a known issue, it is my belief that General Motors should pay these expenses.

2020 Chevrolet Blazer recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 3 recalls for different components of the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer.
- Manufacturer: General Motors, LLC
- Components: TIRES
- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT4, XT5, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, Traverse, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, 2018-2021 Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana, 2019-2020 Chevrolet Blazer, Silverado 1500, GMC Acadia, Sierra 1500, and certain Continental tires sold to the aftermarket for various model year 2018-2021 vehicles. The affected tires were cured for too long during production.
- Consequence: Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall resulting in sudden air loss or a belt edge separation which could lead to a tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 22, 2021. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick customer service at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. The start/stop accumulator endcap may have missing bolts.

- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the start-stop transmission accumulator and replace it if any bolts are missing, free of charge. The recall began December 15, 2020. The diffuser component of the Roof-Rail Air Bag (RRAB) inflator may not have been properly crimped to the inflator and could separate from the inflator during air bag deployment.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with the Equinox and Blazer models. I've been driving the Equinox for over 10 years and have had 3 different models. Recently, I decided to take advantage of the 12% discount sale and upgrade to the Blazer 2LT model with the turbo 2.0. I'm happy to report that I've been getting 29 mpg on the highway in Eco mode, which is great! The Blazer rides much nicer than the Equinox and the engine is stronger. I also appreciate the wider seat, which is more comfortable for my larger rear end. The layout is better too, with the USB in front and not buried inside the console holes. Another great feature is that the 2.0 turbo doesn't require Premium gas. Plus, the sliding middle seat is back, which I loved in earlier Equinox models but not the newer ones. Overall, I'm really pleased with my purchase so far. Thanks for listening!
-
I really love my truck. And there's nothing I dislike about it either.

Great vehicle!

I've always loved Chevy. I had a GMC Terrain from the same year, but there's such a big difference between the two. I must say, I'm happy to reclaim my title as a CHEVY GIRL!

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share that I have been experiencing some issues with my brakes on my 2020 Blazer. Despite having taken it to the shop three times and to two different dealers, the issue persists. While it's not a major problem, it is concerning given that the vehicle is still under warranty and I still owe on it. I absolutely adore my Blazer and would love to have this issue resolved. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Although there were some initial issues with my new blazer, I have found that it performs well on the highway. However, it may not be the best option for stop-and-go traffic due to the shifting. Overall, I am confident in my decision to purchase this vehicle.

Although the new Chevrolet Blazer may seem like a good vehicle, it may not be the best choice for those who appreciate the original K5 or the S10 Blazer's body-on-frame design. Some may find the interior design unappealing and the driving experience subpar. However, it is important to note that everyone has different preferences when it comes to vehicles. If you are a fan of the K5 or S10 Blazer, you may want to consider purchasing a used one instead. Ultimately, the decision is yours to make.

If you live in an area with snowy and icy seasons, this SUV may not be the best choice. The low profile tires make it difficult to handle such weather conditions, which can make driving feel quite unstable. It's understandable to feel nervous every time it snows!

It seems like the technology could be improved if you add all option packages. However, it may still lack some of the new tech features that other manufacturers offer. For example, it currently doesn't have parking assist, towing assist, or a heads up display. Additionally, the radio and USB may be sub-standard. It's worth noting that Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and other manufacturers offer more tech features in the same price range.
