My dad and I have owned a 1998 Chevy Blazer since 2003. We bought it with just over 60,000 miles on it, and it has been the best truck we have ever owned. Other than wear and tear items, we have not had to replace anything major. Currently, it has 142,000+ miles and is running like a champ with many years to go. If people take care of their cars, they wouldn't have much to complain about. I just had to change the original ball joints and some other bushings at 140,000 miles! Brakes, tires, and other wear items are not the car's fault; it's the way people drive! I have towed cars, boats, and my landscape trailer with my Blazer without fail for 9 years.

I've owned my Blazer for over a year now. When I first bought it, it needed a new starter, which I changed myself. At around 77,000 miles, the water pump started to leak a bit, but I had that taken care of. Other than that, I've only done standard maintenance like oil changes, transmission flushes, cooling flushes, steering linkage lubrication, brake and rotor replacements, and some performance upgrades like a Flowmaster exhaust and K&N intake. I absolutely love driving this truck and plan on keeping it for a long time (it's only at 80,000 miles!). I also take it off-roading, including trail riding and mudding, and it has never let me down or gotten stuck. While the V6 could have a bit more horsepower, I wouldn't want to sacrifice fuel economy.

This car is really great! The styling is fantastic, the interior is super comfortable, and the engine is really strong. Honestly, there isn't much more you could ask for in a car. Sure, I had to get a Transmission Rebuild at 81,500 miles due to a broken sealant, but other than that, this car has been absolutely flawless in terms of service and reliability. It's always ready to go and get the job done!

I purchased the car used with 110k miles and installed a new transmission at 115,000 miles. The front end has required regular maintenance, including ball joints, among other things. However, the 4X4 is fantastic! Prior to the fuel pump going out, I was getting great gas mileage of about 21mpg, but now it's the standard 16mpg. The interior boasts luxurious features, my favorite being the auto shut off of any light or charger to prevent battery drain. The Blazer has now accumulated over 150,000 miles and unfortunately, the radiator has rusted all the way through to the heating coils. Despite my financial difficulties and limited maintenance, the car has been very reliable with minimal problems.

The vehicle has proven to be reliable with only a few minor issues. After 40000 miles, new brake rotors were needed all around and a new battery was required shortly after. The door speakers were also replaced due to a blown woofer. However, overall, there have been no other problems. The leather seats are very comfortable and I have not experienced any issues with the rear seats. The vehicle is capable of driving on deeply rutted off-road tracks, although it may set up an oscillation of the shocks/rear suspension. The vehicle's drive ability in 2&4 WD is generally effective and it corners well enough if required.

It's not the best truck out there, but it has potential. Unfortunately, the previous owner did not maintain it well, which has caused some issues. However, I know that most Blazers do not have the same problems as mine. One common issue with Blazers is the levers on the seats, which has also affected my truck. Despite its flaws, the truck still runs well and has a strong engine that accelerates quickly. It does make some squeaking noises and the rear needs attention, but with proper care, it could be a reliable vehicle. I had to replace the A/C system and the right-rear axle seal bearing due to the previous owner's neglect. It's important to take care of any vehicle to prevent issues. Overall, with some TLC, this truck could be a great investment.

My father gave me this car when it was about a year old. It's the LS model, so it has pretty much all the options. I've had it for two years now and it's been great. The only issues I've had were typical Blazer issues, such as the wiper circuit board, the recline handles breaking off, and the bushings on the door hinges wearing out. The only other issue was the alternator dying at about 140K miles, but it was an easy fix. I replaced it myself for only $90 and less than an hour of labor.
