Chrysler Town and country problems
The Chrysler Town & Country is a minivan that was manufactured and marketed by Chrysler from 1990 to the 2016 model years. The third Chrysler minivan introduced in North America, the Town & Country adopted its nameplate from the flagship Chrysler station wagon line, adopting its exterior woodgrain trim as a design feature for several generations.
Marketed as the flagship of the Chrysler minivan line, five generations of the Town & Country were slotted above the extended-wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan and Plymouth Grand Voyager. For 2017, Chrysler retired the nameplate, with sixth-generation Chrysler-division minivans becoming the Chrysler Pacifica. After the 2016 model year, Chrysler marked the sale of its 12 millionth minivan (under all three nameplates). Produced almost continuously for 75 years (with the exception of World War II and 1989), the Town & Country nameplate is the longest-produced Chrysler; its longevity is second only to the Chevrolet Suburban in worldwide automotive history.
Chrysler assembled the first three generations of the model line in its Saint Louis Assembly facility (Fenton, Missouri). The fourth and fifth-generation Town & Country were produced by Chrysler Canada by Windsor Assembly (Windsor, Ontario).

You have taken great care of this vehicle, ensuring regular oil/filter changes and replacing the rotors/brakes. It's impressive that it has held up so well, even after 120,000 miles!

This is the first mini van I ever bought, and it won't be the last. I looked at several other mini vans before buying the Town and Country. Even though they look somewhat alike, I really like the fold and go seating. That was a big selling point for me.

Vehicle year: 2008
This is an excellent purchase for the price. Although the leather may be too soft for kids, which is why I gave an 8 for the interior. The exterior could have used better quality plastics, but it should still hold up. The 4.0 engine, fun factor, and onboard electronics are impressive, especially for a mini-van. The doors were acting up, but my friend who has the same van showed me how to fix the problem by tightening a hex screw on each door. The only improvements I would suggest are wider tires and a better location for the spare tire. Overall, a great buy!

I originally bought this van to transport ladies to lodge meetings. However, I soon discovered that it is not only great for transporting large numbers, but also has excellent fuel economy. The more I drive it, the more I enjoy it. Although it is old now, I still have fun driving it. The little 4-cylinder engine has enough power to climb the hills of West Virginia, which is impressive. With over 170,000 miles on it, it is still going strong. It is also a great vehicle for grandchildren to learn to drive in.

Vehicle year: 2011
I purchased my van used with 29k miles on it and have put over 71k miles on it in the past 2 years. Fortunately, the only issues I have encountered were a known engine head problem that Chrysler took care of, including extending the warranty on the redesigned head, and a flaky rear blower for the climate control system. Overall, I absolutely love this van! The engine is incredibly powerful and has excellent low-end torque. With a class 3 receiver, I can tow up to 3500lbs with no strain. The fuel efficiency is also impressive, with 20-22MPG around town and up to 29MPG on the interstate. If I use cruise control and keep my speed around 55MPH, I can even get up to 36MPG! The stow and go feature is a game changer, allowing me to transform my 7 passenger family hauler into a cargo van in just 2 minutes. The backup camera is amazing and the stereo is one of the best non-premium options I have ever seen as an OEM build. FCA really put a lot of thought into the design of this van, especially with the gorgeous internal redesign starting in 2011. The interior is spacious and comfortable, with green light bars in the ceiling that provide a nice glow at night. The handling is great, although I do wish there was an AWD option for winter weather. The acceleration is also impressive for a heavy van. My two kids have plenty of space in the middle row captains chairs, although better cup holder options would have been appreciated. There are six cup holders available up front, not including the doors, and plenty of storage, especially with stow-n-go. Overall, I highly recommend this van!I think this vehicle is one of the best values available in America today because of its price, features, performance, and versatility.

Hi there! I noticed that your vehicle has had some issues with the front wheel bearing, engine performance, gas mileage, and brakes. Have you considered looking into Japanese vans for your next vehicle? They have a great reputation for reliability and efficiency. Let me know if you have any questions!

Dear Chrysler, I really appreciate your efforts to support local dealerships and mechanic shops, and I hope this is true. I have been a car enthusiast for over 20 years, owning various vehicles from low rider trucks to a custom modified turbocharged Honda Civic, and most recently a 1997 BMW Z3 2.8 L Convertible. I take pride in being able to perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing my oil and fixing things within my ability. However, I recently encountered an issue with my 2015 Chrysler Town and Country Mini van, and despite my best efforts, I was unable to check my transmission fluid and received the P0704 code. It's disappointing that your corporation has decided that only dealership employees are qualified to perform this task, and that DIYers like myself are not trusted to even locate the transmission fluid spout. Additionally, it's frustrating that something as simple as checking transmission fluid has become so complicated. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, a concerned mom in a mini van.

Great minivan! Although we've had some issues with squeaking and rattling in the electrical side doors. Unfortunately, we've had to take it to the Chrysler shop about 6-8 times for the doors since we bought it in May of 2010. It can be quite frustrating, but we're hopeful that the Chrysler rep will be able to help us out. Overall, we still love the van!

Consider avoiding this vehicle. At 91,000 miles, the air conditioning has broken three times and is now inoperable. The engine emits concerning noises and the ABS light illuminates without cause. Additionally, the vehicle experiences excessive brake wear and exhibits rust throughout. While there are more issues to list, it is clear that this vehicle is not a reliable option.

Vehicle year: 2010
We purchased this car in the summer of 2010. Unfortunately, after a year, we began experiencing some issues such as transmission jerking, noisy sliding doors, vibration problems, and front rotors and brakes needing replacement at only 18k miles. The worst issue was the electrical system shutting off while driving. Despite reporting these problems to the dealership, we were left without a loaner car while they checked it out. When they finally called to say the car was ready, they claimed they could not duplicate the problem. Although frustrating, we remained patient and continued to work with the dealership to resolve the issues.
