2007 Chrysler Town and country problems

The Chrysler Town & Country is a minivan that was manufactured and marketed by Chrysler from 1990 to the 2016 model years. The third Chrysler minivan introduced in North America, the Town & Country adopted its nameplate from the flagship Chrysler station wagon line, adopting its exterior woodgrain trim as a design feature for several generations.

Marketed as the flagship of the Chrysler minivan line, five generations of the Town & Country were slotted above the extended-wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan and Plymouth Grand Voyager. For 2017, Chrysler retired the nameplate, with sixth-generation Chrysler-division minivans becoming the Chrysler Pacifica. After the 2016 model year, Chrysler marked the sale of its 12 millionth minivan (under all three nameplates). Produced almost continuously for 75 years (with the exception of World War II and 1989), the Town & Country nameplate is the longest-produced Chrysler; its longevity is second only to the Chevrolet Suburban in worldwide automotive history.

Chrysler assembled the first three generations of the model line in its Saint Louis Assembly facility (Fenton, Missouri). The fourth and fifth-generation Town & Country were produced by Chrysler Canada by Windsor Assembly (Windsor, Ontario).

Negative 2007 Chrysler Town and country car reviews

  1. Amari Cole 2024-11-26

Consider avoiding this vehicle. At 91,000 miles, the air conditioning has broken three times and is now inoperable. The engine emits concerning noises and the ABS light illuminates without cause. Additionally, the vehicle experiences excessive brake wear and exhibits rust throughout. While there are more issues to list, it is clear that this vehicle is not a reliable option.

  2. Rene Johns 2024-11-20

This vehicle was purchased with just over 17k miles and unfortunately, it has been a hassle to identify the issues with it. It seems that in order to address the whining, hesitation, and lack of power when starting off, several parts need to be replaced. Despite our research, we have not been able to find a solution. We are disappointed with the quality of this vehicle and are considering other options. If you have any recommendations for voicing our concerns to Chrysler, please let us know. It is important to prioritize quality when it comes to vehicles, regardless of where they are made.

  3. Johnathan Hermann 2024-10-05

With all the accolades surrounding the Chrysler mini-van, I was expecting a good vehicle. However, I found that this vehicle seems to be a work in progress. The cruise control didn't seem to be able to control the speed, and the radio was weak in picking up stations. Additionally, I found the overhead controls for fuel mileage, etc, to be confusing.

  4. Will Ward 2024-09-29

We have had some issues with our Chrysler, including the electric sliding doors failing within 10k miles and the brakes needing to be replaced numerous times. Additionally, the interior can be quite noisy. However, we believe that Chrysler has the potential to improve their products and we hope to see better quality and reliability in the future.

  5. Camden Romaguera 2024-09-19

I purchased a 07 base T&C in a hurry and unfortunately didn't do my research beforehand. I ended up with the base model which only came with a DVD system, but to my disappointment, headphones were not available for this trim and the van was not wired for them. Additionally, there are no air conditioning vents in the back, which made my son quite uncomfortable. I wish I had been warned about these issues beforehand. To make matters worse, I discovered that half of the van's value is lost in the first year. I paid 17k (plus some negative equity) and now, a year later, I can't get more than 9k for it. This has left me feeling very unhappy and I have decided not to purchase another Chrysler or minivan again.

Positive 2007 Chrysler Town and country car reviews

  1. Reyes Langworth 2024-10-22

I purchased a used 2007 touring edition minivan with leather and stow and go seating, a salvage title, and 103k miles for $3000. It was in almost mint condition and one of the best used purchases I've ever made, besides my Pontiac Vibe. I needed more cargo room for my three dogs, including my 120lb Presa Canario, and this minivan provided just that. I was commuting back and forth from SC to Jacksonville, FL every week for six months on my three-day weekends to remodel my new home while moving a few things at a time with me. The class 3 hitch on the back worked perfectly for light towing. In six months, I put 30k miles on this minivan and it was super reliable. I changed the front brakes and rotors and put new tires on it. Although it was probably due for a tune-up with new plugs and cables, I just mentioned that to the new owner. I sold it once I moved to FL since I wanted something more flashy and no longer needed to commute with my dogs. I sold it for the same price I paid for it 30k miles later. I never thought I would ever own a minivan, but the cargo room was insane with stow and go seating, the AC worked excellently in the summer months traveling with my dogs, and the leather was easy to clean. I just put a painter's blanket down all in the back for dog hair control, and it worked out well. I do like the new body style better and thought about buying another one, but I also want 4wd, so I may end up buying a Montero with the larger body style and cargo room. You can't beat this minivan for cargo space; it's like a living room on wheels with seats folded flat into the floor. I loved the push-button sliding doors on both sides and push-button rear hatch. All doors also worked from my key remote. For $3k, this was an excellent deal and worked perfectly for my needs. The ride was very comfortable, gas mpg was way better than I would have expected, and cargo space can't be beat.

This is our 2nd Town and Country. I'm so glad we decided to get another one after loving the first so much. I really enjoy driving it. Although I do miss the hand grips above, the stow and go feature is really fantastic. However, I do have to admit that the back seats are not as comfortable. We were able to get around 18 miles per gallon around town with our old van, and I don't expect to do much better with this or any other van. The fact that we haven't had to make any trips back to the dealer for quality issues is truly amazing.

  3. Myron Muller 2024-10-08

Bought this minivan a few days ago and I'm absolutely loving it! The stow 'n go seats are such a great bonus and it's in fantastic condition. I'm so happy with my purchase!

  4. Darius Larkin 2024-10-02

The van is great! The stow and go seating is much nicer than what my Aerostar had.

  5. Malcolm Bergnaum 2024-09-11

This is fantastic news! Congratulations on your new car! It's great to hear that your wife loves the stow & go feature of the van and that you've been able to haul several large items that would have never fit in a car. It's also wonderful to hear that you've put 10,000 miles on so far with no issues and that the van is comfortable. The power sliding doors and rear liftgate sound like great features too! It's still too early to tell about gas mileage, but we hope it's just as impressive as the rest of the van. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with us, and we hope you enjoy your Chrysler minivan for many years to come!
