2005 Chrysler Town and country problems
The Chrysler Town & Country is a minivan that was manufactured and marketed by Chrysler from 1990 to the 2016 model years. The third Chrysler minivan introduced in North America, the Town & Country adopted its nameplate from the flagship Chrysler station wagon line, adopting its exterior woodgrain trim as a design feature for several generations.
Marketed as the flagship of the Chrysler minivan line, five generations of the Town & Country were slotted above the extended-wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan and Plymouth Grand Voyager. For 2017, Chrysler retired the nameplate, with sixth-generation Chrysler-division minivans becoming the Chrysler Pacifica. After the 2016 model year, Chrysler marked the sale of its 12 millionth minivan (under all three nameplates). Produced almost continuously for 75 years (with the exception of World War II and 1989), the Town & Country nameplate is the longest-produced Chrysler; its longevity is second only to the Chevrolet Suburban in worldwide automotive history.
Chrysler assembled the first three generations of the model line in its Saint Louis Assembly facility (Fenton, Missouri). The fourth and fifth-generation Town & Country were produced by Chrysler Canada by Windsor Assembly (Windsor, Ontario).

Wow, it's amazing to hear that your workhorse has been going strong for 11 years and has covered 85K worth of mostly urban stop-and-go miles! It's impressive that the only repairs needed were one rear ABS sensor fixed under partial warranty and an EGR valve that tripped the check-engine light at 70k. The ride is pretty hard, but not much more so than your 2008 Sienna. Road noise, acceleration and braking were similar as well, though the Chrysler has slightly better steering. It's much nicer in every respect than the 2008-2015 model Chryslers you've rented, but hoping the new Pacifica is even better. By the way, it's just now on its second set of brakes in all those short trips, so it's hard to say what to make of reports of poor brake pad life--could be driving habits or could be theirs had a defect of some sort. Anyway, it's great to hear that your Chrysler has been so reliable, despite the negative reputation that Chrysler reliability has. Keep up the good work!

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to let you know that I purchased the car from its second owner when it had 78,000 miles on it. Since then, I've put another 10,000 miles on it and haven't had any issues at all. Take care!

I absolutely love my 2005 van with 110K miles on it! It has proven to be incredibly reliable, as I have never experienced a breakdown. The only repair I have had to make was when the left rear door mechanism broke, but it was quickly and efficiently replaced. I make sure to get regular oil changes every 5k-8k miles and have the fluids checked at the same time. Despite regular wear and tear, which is to be expected with any vehicle, I have not had to spend a single penny on repairs. My favorite feature is the stow and go, and the DVD player has been a true lifesaver. This is actually my second Chrysler van, and I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off. It truly is an excellent vehicle!

I'm so glad to hear that you had such a positive experience with your van! It sounds like it was a great fit for your needs, with its impressive turning radius and spacious cargo area. And it's wonderful to hear that you found it to be a reliable and comfortable ride. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this van!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my new Signature series car from Chrysler. I was able to take advantage of a fantastic deal - a $2500 rebate and 0.0% interest - which allowed me to purchase it for about $8000.00 less than a Toyota or Honda with the same features. I've found it to be very reliable and cost-effective, and the quality of the build is excellent - I haven't found a single defect or rattle. We've already driven almost 3800 miles in it! The only downside so far has been the fuel mileage, which has been around 13.8 City and 22.8 Highway, compared to the advertised 18 city and 28 highway. Overall, though, I'm really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to others!

The 2005 Chrysler Town and Country Limited has been such a reliable minivan for the almost 12 years that I have owned it! We have had nothing unexpected for repairs on this vehicle, just the normal things that have to be replaced such as tires, batteries, hoses, etc. We have definitely gotten our money's worth from this minivan.
Enos O'Conner 2024-06-17
When we purchased our minivan, we had high hopes that it would be a reliable vehicle. Unfortunately, we experienced a number of issues during our two years of ownership. We had to take it to the shop 12 times for various defects, such as failed locks and windows, improper transmission shifting, and defective rack and pinion and power steering pump. Even the electric sliding doors bounced back open. We also had problems with the cruise control and the hitch installation. Despite our efforts to resolve these issues, we were unable to get the help we needed from Chrysler or the dealer. We hope that future buyers will have a better experience.

This van has had multiple issues since the beginning, including engine problems before the first oil change and multiple repairs on the locks and sliding mechanism on doors. However, all of these issues were resolved by the dealer, and the van is now in good condition. Although I have had to replace several parts, I am confident in the quality of the repairs and the overall reliability of the van. I am satisfied with the service provided by the dealer and would recommend them to others.
Kristopher Hettinger 2024-04-23
Upon purchasing the 2005 Chrysler Town and Country, I noticed several issues with the vehicle. The driver's side door was off, the under dash was very loose and fell off with one touch, and all the panels on the inside of the van were loose and poorly assembled. Although the front door was adjusted, the inside panels were not properly addressed. After seven days, the door was finally fixed, but upon driving the vehicle, I noticed concerning engine noises and it died twice. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a faulty fuel pump and bcm chip, which required replacement. Unfortunately, I had to trade in the vehicle at a loss. Despite these challenges, I remained confident in my decision to prioritize my safety and invest in a more reliable vehicle.

Chrysler did a great job on the design and features. When new the ride is very good. However, I have noticed that the parts used do not meet my durability expectations. If you are considering purchasing a minivan, I would recommend exploring other options. This is my 3rd Chrysler minivan and unfortunately, it will be my last.
