Bmw X5 problems

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. At launch, it featured all-wheel drive and was available with either a manual or automatic gearbox. The second generation was launched in 2006, and was known internally as the E70. The E70 featured the torque-split capable xDrive all-wheel drive system mated to an automatic gearbox. In 2009, the X5 M performance variant was released as a 2010 model.
BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions. The X5 signaled a shift away from the utilisation of body-on-frame construction, in favour of more modern monocoque chassis construction. Although the Mercedes-Benz M-Class was introduced more than a year prior to the X5, the X5 was the first to utilise a monocoque chassis. The M-Class used body-on-frame construction until its second generation.
The X5 is primarily manufactured in North America, at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg. Assembly operations also take place in Russia by Avtotor, along with operations in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The X5 is also modified for armoured security versions, at the BMW de México Toluca plant.
The automaker's SAV series, which was started by the X5, has expanded with derivations of other number-series BMWs. This began in 2003 with the X3, and continued in 2008 with the X6 (which shares its platform with the X5).

The X5 45e is a fantastic blend of convenience, efficiency, and joy. It offers the best of both worlds, combining the traditional performance and range of a BMW inline 6 with the everyday electric car experience. The integration of electric and gas is seamless, making it almost imperceptible when the gas engine kicks in. The BMW iDrive and driving assistant tech are top-notch, and the fit and finish are outstanding. Additionally, the high voltage battery is large enough that this car qualifies for the same $7500 tax credit as full electric cars, making it an exceptional value compared to other model X5s.

This vehicle truly lives up to its nickname the ultimate driving machine. From the time I first sat in this vehicle it has done nothing but impress me. I love to drive it, I find myself making excuses to run errands just to drive it. Also I have not one problem. I will only drive BMW's from now on.

I've had the car for 6 months and I must say, I like it more each time I drive it. The seat comfort, handling, shifting and ride are superb. On long rides, the seats allow you to arrive refreshed rather than tired. The car handles solidly at high speeds and corners nimbly without roll. The 6-speed is super smooth and quick. The highway ride is like floating on a cloud.

A good friend once told me that BMWs don't break often, but when they do, it can be expensive. Unfortunately, our 2009 BMW X5 with 92K on it was no exception. However, I prefer to buy high-quality cars at a low price, and I was able to find one in good condition that had already depreciated from its showroom pricing. Over the last 24 months, we have spent around 6-7K in repairs, but this car does require special attention due to the tight tolerances of the sensors, brakes, tires, wheel bearings, and glow plugs. Despite this, when the car is running well (which is about 80% of the time), it is simply the best car I have ever driven. It is incredibly fast, stable, and powerful, and with snow tires, I have been able to conquer even the toughest storms that Colorado can throw at me. If you're considering buying one of these cars with 90-100K on it, I would highly recommend setting aside $6K in repair dollars (which is still only half of the original sticker price) because you will own a really great car.

(Previously leased 2003 4.4 and 2008 4.8 X5 models). This 50i model is my favorite X5! The improved satellite navigation system lets you speak the entire destination at once, instead of bit-by-bit, and it's usually accurate. The sound system has both an equalizer and surround sound, making it perfect for music lovers. Plus, the excellent back-up camera not only shows the rear view, but also the view from above, which is great for back-in and parallel parking. The 8-speed automatic is noticeably smoother than the earlier X5's 6-speed transmission, making for a more comfortable ride. And, the fuel economy is slightly better than the earlier X5's, averaging 13.5 to 15.0 MPG, which is great news for your wallet. The 19

At first, it seemed promising, but after a few months, I have had enough of it. Unfortunately, there are more rattles than an old Volvo, the 3.0 is weak, iDrive is useless, the run flats are crazy expensive and have NO traction in snow, and it rides worse than my F-150 4X4. In fact, my F-150 is built better, more dependable, has equal handling and performance, and gets about the same gas mileage. Now, the evaporator is leaking freon. Hopefully, this 3rd trip to the dealer can resolve these issues.

After owning the car for 3 weeks, we had a bit of a rough start due to a poor dealer experience with BMW of Asheville. However, despite this, we still love the ride and handling of the car. The infotainment system is quite complicated, but BMW employs 'geniuses' to help set it up. Unfortunately, our 'genius' didn't know the hybrid model very well and gave us some incorrect information. Despite this, we were able to figure things out and overall, we're very happy with the car. The only major flaw we've encountered is with the charger that comes with the car. It takes a long time to charge and is limited to 16 amps, which can be frustrating when compared to other electric vehicles that can take up to 48 or even 60 amps. However, the car still has surprisingly good pick up for its weight and my wife is able to use it for her daily commute on electric power alone. We did have one issue with the rear sensors not working, but it's currently scheduled for service. Overall, we're happy with our purchase and excited to continue using the car.

If you are experiencing a manufacturing defect on your X5 50e, we recommend searching online for information on checking engine lights or CCU replacements. We understand that some owners may be frustrated with this issue, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. While BMW is still working on a solution, we encourage you to reach out to your local dealer for assistance. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Your BMW experience sounds frustrating. We're sorry to hear that you've had to deal with repeated check engine light issues and costly repairs. It's disappointing that your dealer and BMW corporate have not been able to provide a satisfactory solution. We understand that this is not what you expected from a high-quality brand like BMW. We hope that you can find a resolution soon.

Although I was initially drawn to its attractive appearance and powerful engine, unfortunately, our X5 has proven to be quite a challenge to maintain. We have experienced several expensive issues with the vehicle, with something failing about every six months. The out-of-warranty repairs have cost us between $5000-$6000 per year since we purchased it. Recently, we discovered that it failed to pass smog due to valve leaks, which our BMW technician informed us is a common issue with this engine. Unfortunately, we now have to spend an additional $6000 ($500 in parts and 45 hours of labor!) to replace the valve seals just to pass smog. As a result, this will be our last BMW purchase.
