Bmw X5 problems

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. At launch, it featured all-wheel drive and was available with either a manual or automatic gearbox. The second generation was launched in 2006, and was known internally as the E70. The E70 featured the torque-split capable xDrive all-wheel drive system mated to an automatic gearbox. In 2009, the X5 M performance variant was released as a 2010 model.
BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions. The X5 signaled a shift away from the utilisation of body-on-frame construction, in favour of more modern monocoque chassis construction. Although the Mercedes-Benz M-Class was introduced more than a year prior to the X5, the X5 was the first to utilise a monocoque chassis. The M-Class used body-on-frame construction until its second generation.
The X5 is primarily manufactured in North America, at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg. Assembly operations also take place in Russia by Avtotor, along with operations in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The X5 is also modified for armoured security versions, at the BMW de México Toluca plant.
The automaker's SAV series, which was started by the X5, has expanded with derivations of other number-series BMWs. This began in 2003 with the X3, and continued in 2008 with the X6 (which shares its platform with the X5).

Vehicle year: 2024
I've been enjoying my X5 for four months now and I'm really happy with it. The base engine is both powerful and smooth, and I'm glad I didn't opt for the 50i. The interior is stunning and incredibly comfortable. The technology package is also well worth it, especially for the self-driving feature. I've been able to engage it on the highway multiple times now and it does a great job. The only downside is the occasional lags and glitches with iDrive 8, but I just bypass it and use CarPlay instead.

Vehicle year: 2021
I've owned a 550, 3hybrid, 650, 2019 X5, and now a 2021 X5. Out of all of them, my current X5 is my favorite. It's a really well-balanced driving car with a great engine and drive train. The transmission is unbelievably seamless and the infotainment system is easy to use with its hot keys and intuitive touch screen. I love everything about this car, especially how highly adjustable it is with noticeable differences in how it acts based on settings. While I liked the Mercedes interior a bit better overall, this car beats the GLE 53 AMG by a hair to me. I leased a 2019 X5 and loved it so much that I ended up buying a 2021 X5 coming out of that lease. I never thought I would buy a car that I had just leased for three years, but I liked this car THAT much. I considered the GLE AMG 53, and it was tempting, but the computer chip

The new X5 is a delight to drive and truly beautiful inside. I had the opportunity to test drive the Porsche Cayenne and ML, but for me, BMW is hands down the best. The performance, ride, and handling are awesome!

It sounds like you have a great vehicle! It's quiet and has a nicely engineered ride.

Vehicle year: 2017
I noticed some reviews complaining about their X5, but I have to say that we absolutely love ours! The engine is both smooth and powerful, and it provides respectable mileage for an SUV. While the ride may be firmer than other SUVs, that's precisely why we chose a BMW. The sportiness of the X5 makes it both fun and practical to drive. Although it doesn't have a third row, we didn't need one, and the cargo area is more than sufficient. The interior is what I would describe as 'spartan luxury'. The surfaces are nice, but they don't have the soft leather feel of some cars. Instead, they have a sturdy feel that exudes quality. Overall, I have no complaints about this car, and I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Vehicle year: 2019
Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my BMW X5 that I purchased brand new in June 2019. Unfortunately, I've had to take it in for repairs six times due to some electric module component issues, automatic engine mechanical failures, key fab failures & recalls responding to the vehicle, GPS failures, side assist malfunctions, radio not turning off when exiting the vehicle, and the car continuing to run even after the start/stop is pressed. I've found that BMW dealerships don't take ownership if it's new, as they are considered 'independent'. Additionally, BMW North America has been unwilling to take responsibility for their vehicles. It's been frustrating, but I'm hopeful that we can find a solution soon. Thanks for listening!

Hi there! We purchased our X5 brand new in February 2007 and took great care of it ever since. It was actually our fourth Bimmer and we absolutely loved it! The car was super comfortable, had great performance, and looked amazing. The I-drive was okay, but we found that there were enough knobs and buttons to make it easy to use without relying on it too much. The panoramic sunroof was definitely a highlight, although we wish we had used it more often. For the first several years, the car was exactly what you want in a vehicle - reliable and uneventful. However, towards the end of our time with it, we did experience some issues that made us a bit nervous to take it out for long drives. We ended up spending $3,400 to fix a

Vehicle year: 2003
My X5 (2003, 3.0L V6) was a great car for the first two years, but unfortunately, it began to experience significant issues. Over the next two years, I had to visit the certified dealers approximately 45 times to repair constantly failing electrical equipment. The car experienced issues with locks, sensors, numerous bulbs, the dashboard panel, electrical mirrors, and the alarm system, among other things. Although all repairs were covered by warranty, the car spent more than 60 days in the repair shop. Ultimately, I decided to sell the car due to the constant problems.

While the car is sturdy and fun to drive, I had a bad experience with the transmission blowing apart at only 80K miles. Unfortunately, it cost $12K to fix, which was beyond ridiculous. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this car due to the catastrophic failure at such low miles. In comparison, I have found my Lexus and Infiniti to be much more reliable. I hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision when considering a German made vehicle.

Although my 2007 X5 required major repairs every 3 months, I can confidently say that it handles well on the road. While the repair costs may be high, I am certain that the driving experience is worth it.
