The Toyota Yaris (Japanese: トヨタ・ヤリス, Hepburn: Toyota Yarisu) is a supermini/subcompact car sold by Toyota since 1999, replacing the Starlet and Tercel.
Up to 2019, Toyota had used the Yaris nameplate on export versions of various Japanese-market models, with some markets receiving the same vehicles under the Toyota Echo name through 2005. Starting in 2020, the Yaris nameplate began to be used in Japan, which replaced the Vitz nameplate.
The Yaris nameplate has also been applied to other vehicles. From 1999 to 2005, the nameplate had been used for the Yaris Verso mini MPV sold in Europe, where it was known in Japan as the FunCargo. Since 2020, the nameplate has also been used for the subcompact crossover SUV offering called Yaris Cross. In North America, most Yaris sedan models sold from 2015 to 2020 and Yaris hatchbacks sold from 2019 until 2020 were restyled versions of the Mazda2, produced and developed by Mazda.
In 2020, Toyota introduced the GR Yaris, which is a three-door performance-oriented variant of the XP210 series Yaris using the Gazoo Racing branding. It is built as a homologation model for the FIA World Rally Championship.
The name "Yaris" is derived from "Charis", the singular form of Charites, the Greek goddesses of charm and beauty. As of March 2020, the Yaris has sold 8.71 million units worldwide.

In occasions when I go out to my residence, I need to go thru a control system that content a electrical barrier (electric arm), and around 4 or 5 times, when I close to this area the car did a hard stop, and the collision red light turned on with a beep sound, the same indication when the car activate the breaking system in the highway and when I try to park in some times to my garage. The most critical issue is when hard stooping in the highway due to in these times the other vehicles claimed me why reason I stopping without any reason, and them are very close to collision the back of my car. When this happen the sound of the tires of my car can be ear clearly the hard stopping. I very disappointment and very scare this defect was and will be in danger my life, due to the dealer retailer that I buy my car don't found any issue after my notification and I had no choice open a case directly with the Toyota, and now the dealer retailer will do an a correct inspection but I need to pay for this, is incredible due to my 2020 car only have 18,000 used miles.

The first incident involved the engine laboring to start and when she came home, the battery was dead. I was able to re-charge the battery at home but 2 days later, the car would not start at home. I have an auto engine scanner that registered a P2610 code stating "an Engine Control Module, ECM/PCM Engine Off Timer Performance". The battery had been completely drained of its liquid. This is a safety hazard that could have stranded my daughter as she sometimes drives to Houston which is about 30 miles away. I researched this code and found that the NHTSA has previously issued notices on these problems. We need help getting it resolved.Car is available for inspection.

- Summary: Since my original lease of my 2015 Toyota Yaris SE from Hanlees Hilltop Toyota in January 2015, both the front and rear bumpers have continually come unfastened. This was described as a known defect by two employees at this location: Tito Anopol (phone [XXX] ) and [XXX] (phone [XXX] ). [XXX] noted the roof trim was also notorious for coming unfastened. He removed the top inlets from the roof exterior, helped replace them with OEMs, yet they still flew off the vehicle on the freeway. On August 29, 2023, the service team at Hanlees Hilltop Toyota verified the tabs on the bumpers are broken, and are even saying they cannot guarantee they will be able to properly install new parts if I order them from here, and are trying to refer me to a body shop? I had this car as a rental and I really enjoyed it! The car is reliable and has a great passing gear. It feels bigger than it actually is, which is a plus. The only downside is that the interior could use softer materials to make it easier to clean and prevent scratches. Additionally, arm rests are not a standard feature. However, when given premium gas, the car really performs well! I loved it so much that I ended up buying one just like it with 3 doors instead of 5. The black pearl paint looks amazing in the sun!

Congratulations on your new 2012 Yaris 3 DR LE! It's great to hear that you're impressed with it so far. The car seems to have some great features, such as good visibility, comfortable driver's seat, and a well-designed dashboard with easy-to-reach controls. The Wave Line Pearl color sounds lovely, and it's good to know that the tires are of good quality. It's also great to hear that the gas mileage is pretty good, averaging 33 mpg in all city driving. I really enjoy the road handling and acceleration of this economical car. I wanted to share with you my experience of having an accident. I had a front-end collision on the highway due to stopped traffic. I was traveling at about 60 mph and saw that the traffic was stopped. I signaled to change lanes, but no one would move over. I had to slam on the brakes and ended up impacting at 45 mph. Thankfully, I was safe and the dollar savings were significant. The entire front hood and front suspension system had to be rebuilt, but you cannot even tell that I had an accident. The auto body staff even commented that whoever built this car knew what they were doing. Although I was surprised that the airbag did not inflate, I am still impressed with the storage in the trunk and the accessibility for passengers.

I traded in my Infiniti G35 for a Yaris, which might seem like a huge difference, and it was. However, I've been very happy with this decision. I constantly average 31.5 mpg in the city and about 39 on the highway, which is fantastic. I can't say much about the reliability yet because my car only has 4300 miles, but it starts up in sub-zero temperatures and hasn't given me any trouble yet. The car feels solid for a cheap car. I hate how all the reviewers knock this car because it really is not that bad. It is affordable, practical, reliable, and excellent on gas. Despite Toyota's recalls, I still think they are far superior to many other brands, such as Nissan, GM, Ford, and Mazda. The Yaris is a great car!

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my Yaris. I have to say, I really enjoy driving it! The Yaris has great handling, and I've been getting an average of 34 MPG as a city driver. Plus, it's just so darn cute! I love the center-mounted instrument panel, it adds a bit of variety to my driving experience. If you're considering getting a Yaris, I definitely recommend the Power Package. The power-lock amenity is a game-changer! The standard stereo setup that comes with it is also pretty impressive. My friends have all been surprised by how roomy the interior is, even though it seats five, four is a more comfortable number. Thanks for listening to my thoughts on the Yaris!

I've had my 2012 Yaris for almost a year now, and while it has great gas mileage (I average 33.5), I've had some issues with the construction. The front bumper is a bit loose and the rear bumper lacks foam, but overall it's a decent car. The front wheel wells are made of thin plastic, which is not ideal, and the noise level in the cabin can be quite loud at highway speeds. Unfortunately, even the stock stereo can't drown out the noise. One downside is that the steering wheel doesn't telescope, which can make for an uncomfortable seating position. If you're looking for a car with better quality, I would recommend the 9th generation Corolla. It has similar gas mileage and is a great alternative.

The car's steering wheel has been vibrating since it was brand new and despite taking it back to the dealership, they have stated that it is normal operation. As a loyal Toyota fan, this has been disappointing to experience. Additionally, it has come to our attention that the car is actually a Mazda, which was not disclosed to us at the time of purchase. However, we remain confident that Toyota will take the necessary steps to address these issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

If you're short on time, here's the summary: some 2019 Yaris windshields may have distortion on the bottom few inches, which Toyota considers to be normal. However, my mother experienced this issue with her brand new Yaris and found it to be distracting while driving. When we brought it up with the dealership, they initially agreed it was a defect, but later changed their stance after a Toyota service rep deemed it to be a characteristic of the car. As loyal Toyota owners, we were disappointed to hear this. Despite this issue, we have always appreciated the quality of Toyota vehicles and have been long-time customers.

It's no secret that I bought this car for its great gas mileage, despite the price being a little high at $17,000 and the fact that it doesn't have power features. My friends have pointed this out, and they do have a point. However, I still love the fact that it gets 35-40 miles per gallon on the highway. So far, I haven't had any problems with this car.
