The Toyota Yaris (Japanese: トヨタ・ヤリス, Hepburn: Toyota Yarisu) is a supermini/subcompact car sold by Toyota since 1999, replacing the Starlet and Tercel.
Up to 2019, Toyota had used the Yaris nameplate on export versions of various Japanese-market models, with some markets receiving the same vehicles under the Toyota Echo name through 2005. Starting in 2020, the Yaris nameplate began to be used in Japan, which replaced the Vitz nameplate.
The Yaris nameplate has also been applied to other vehicles. From 1999 to 2005, the nameplate had been used for the Yaris Verso mini MPV sold in Europe, where it was known in Japan as the FunCargo. Since 2020, the nameplate has also been used for the subcompact crossover SUV offering called Yaris Cross. In North America, most Yaris sedan models sold from 2015 to 2020 and Yaris hatchbacks sold from 2019 until 2020 were restyled versions of the Mazda2, produced and developed by Mazda.
In 2020, Toyota introduced the GR Yaris, which is a three-door performance-oriented variant of the XP210 series Yaris using the Gazoo Racing branding. It is built as a homologation model for the FIA World Rally Championship.
The name "Yaris" is derived from "Charis", the singular form of Charites, the Greek goddesses of charm and beauty. As of March 2020, the Yaris has sold 8.71 million units worldwide.

In addition in two times, when I tried to park to my garage in the back of other vehicle the breaking system related to collision is activate. This area of my garage is an inclined drive way zone and I put the vehicle back to other. In occasions when I go out to my residence, I need to go thru a control system that content a electrical barrier (electric arm), and around 4 or 5 times, when I close to this area the car did a hard stop, and the collision red light turned on with a beep sound, the same indication when the car activate the breaking system in the highway and when I try to park in some times to my garage. The most critical issue is when hard stooping in the highway due to in these times the other vehicles claimed me why reason I stopping without any reason, and them are very close to collision the back of my car. When this happen the sound of the tires of my car can be ear clearly the hard stopping. I very disappointment and very scare this defect was and will be in danger my life, due to the dealer retailer that I buy my car don't found any issue after my notification and I had no choice open a case directly with the Toyota, and now the dealer retailer will do an a correct inspection but I need to pay for this, is incredible due to my 2020 car only have 18,000 used miles.

The first incident involved the engine laboring to start and when she came home, the battery was dead. I was able to re-charge the battery at home but 2 days later, the car would not start at home. I have an auto engine scanner that registered a P2610 code stating "an Engine Control Module, ECM/PCM Engine Off Timer Performance". The battery had been completely drained of its liquid. This is a safety hazard that could have stranded my daughter as she sometimes drives to Houston which is about 30 miles away. I researched this code and found that the NHTSA has previously issued notices on these problems. We need help getting it resolved.Car is available for inspection.

- Summary: I HAVE A 2020 TOYOTA YARIS WITH 3500 MILES THAT HAS AN INTENSE AND REPEATED VIBRATION PROBLEM THAT STARTED APPEARING 9 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW. WHEN I COME FULLY TO A STOP, SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL VIBRATE INTENSELY LIKE A MASSAGE CHAIR. THE VIBRATION CAN BE FELT THROUGHOUT - IN SEATS, STEERING WHEEL, DASH, BRAKE PEDAL, EVEN THE DOORS AND WINDOWS. THE VIBRATION IS SO INTENSE IT CAN BE VISUALLY SEEN. WHEN I LOOK UNDER THE HOOD, THE ENGINE IS SHAKING INTENSELY. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM ONLY HAPPENS IN DRIVE/REVERSE AND WHEN STOPPED. IF THE CAR IS IN PARK/NEUTRAL, OR WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING, IT DOES NOT VIBRATE. THE VIBRATION COMES BACK WHEN PUT BACK INTO DRIVE/REVERSE. THE VIBRATION ONLY HAPPENS ONCE THE CAR IS WARM. CAR VIBRATES AT 500 RPM. WHEN RPM GOES UP TO 600 OR MORE, IT STOPS VIBRATING. IT ALSO STOPS VIBRATING IF THE A/C COMPRESSOR IS TURNED ON (RPMS RISING). AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO BE A LOW IDLE BECAUSE IDLE RPMS WERE TOO LOW (NOT A ROUGH IDLE). I WENT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY WERE ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND FILM IT HAPPENING BUT WERE NOT ABLE TO FIX IT. THE DEALERSHIP HAS CHECKED OTHER CARS FOR THE PROBLEM; THEY FIRST TOLD ME THAT MY YARIS IS THE ONLY ONE WITH THAT PROBLEM, THEN THEY CHANGED THEIR STATEMENT AND SAID "3 OTHER YARIS AT OTHER DEALERSHIPS ALSO HAD THAT PROBLEM, BUT IT IS LIKE 3 OUT OF 30,000 YARIS". THIS MEANS THAT THE VIBRATION PROBLEM IS NOT NORMAL FOR THIS CAR AND A FEW OF THESE CARS ARE DEFECTIVE (WITH MINE BEING ONE OF THEM). I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 SEPARATE TIMES REGARDING THIS ISSUE BUT THEY REFUSED OR GAVE ME AN EXCUSE, SAID THEY COULDN'T FIX IT, COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, ETC. MY CAR ONLY HAS 3,500 MILES AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A NEW CAR. TOYOTA SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM AND FIND AN EFFECTIVE REMEDY, TAKE THIS CAR BACK, OR COMPENSATE THE OWNER.

- Consequence: A fuel pump failure may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the low-pressure fuel pump assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 30, 2021. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 21TB05 and 21TA05.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with this car that I bought with high hopes for a great value. It's worth noting that this car is built by Mazda and is actually built on a Mazda 2 chassis in Mexico. The quality of materials inside the car is very good and it looks great on the outside with its alloy wheels and rear spoiler, giving it a classy look. The ride inside the car is very good for the subcompact division. The only issue I've had is a mild vibration just before coming to a complete stop after the car is warmed up, which is present every time just before the stop. I took the car to the dealership after a week of purchase and they looked at everything, but unfortunately the vibration is still present. They suggested that I ride it for a couple of thousand miles and come back or be back if it becomes more troublesome or pronounced. I hope this information is helpful to you!

Although the hatchback space is lacking, we were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as small as we expected. Overall, it performs great. The steering is tight, but it responds well. Contrary to some reviews, we found that it had enough power to merge onto freeways. Even without using the manual shift or sport features, it still accelerated well. While the frame design blocked the view of pedestrians and vehicles, we noticed that the 2018 Corolla had the same issue. We specifically chose this car because of its 6-speed transmission. We didn't care for the CVT in the 2019 model or the 4-speed automatics in previous models. Apart from the lack of trunk space and visibility, it could easily be a 5-star car.

At first glance, this car is stunning. It is well-appointed and extremely appealing with striking lines. My friends who have ridden in it could not get over how silky smooth it rides and how quiet it is for an econobox car. However, after 10k miles, I have noticed some drawbacks. Although the seats look supportive, they are really lacking. If you are under 5'8Although the sound quality is great, it lacks the deep bass and high notes that most car systems can produce. Additionally, there are limited storage areas in the car, with only one small spot under the radio for your phone, wallet, etc. After driving 24,000 miles in eight months, I have come to the conclusion that I won't be keeping the car as long as I thought I would. Unfortunately, the seats are too small and I can't seem to find a consistently comfortable position. However, my wife and daughter, who are only 5'2

I purchased a 2019 Toyota LE sedan in September 2019. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with some issues regarding scratches on both sides of the car. After a few weeks, the scratches were repaired, but the black door trim was scuffed in the process. The salesperson promised to call me to fix the tape scuff, but I haven't heard from them yet. A week later, while driving down the highway, I hit a dog that had been hit by another car. It was a sad and unfortunate incident, and it caused some damage to the car's splash guard and skid plate. I contacted my insurance company and the Toyota dealership, but was told that the repair would require welding the bolt back into the body. I decided not to make a claim and instead pushed the plate back into place. Recently, I bumped a curb and scratched the bottom of the front end and hit the rim. Overall, I love how my Yaris drives and handles, but I'm disappointed that I've had to spend so much money on repairs that Toyota should have completed during the build. The car sits too low to the ground and the parts used are not strong enough to prevent this kind of damage. If you're considering buying a 2018 to 2019 Toyota/Mazda/Scion sedan, just be aware that the undercarriage is not very durable. Toyota needs to improve the quality of their parts. Despite these issues, I'm grateful for my extended warranty and will continue to enjoy driving my Yaris.

I've driven 45000 miles in this car and unfortunately, I've had to replace 4 tires already. While the car has great gas mileage and some nice technology features (like the radio), I've noticed that the tires wear out quickly. Additionally, the car seems to have a slight alignment issue which causes the tires to wear unevenly. When the car is cold, there are no issues, but after a while, something feels loose. I ended up trading the car in because nobody could figure out what was wrong with it. I did complain to the dealer, but unfortunately, there were no recalls or anything related to my issue. They did try to sell me Toyo tires, which come with the car, but I found them to be subpar. It's also difficult to find parts for this car, even something as simple as an oil drain plug. In my opinion, it's best to stay away from this car. While the motor and transmission are Toyota, everything else is Mazda. For the money, there are better options available.
