Plymouth Voyager is a nameplate for a range of vans that were marketed by the Plymouth division of Chrysler. From 1974 until 1983, the Voyager was a full-size van, sold as the counterpart of Dodge Sportsman (later the Dodge Ram Wagon). Starting with the 1984 model year, the Voyager was marketed as one of the new Chrysler minivan, along with the Dodge Caravan. As a minivan, there were three generations of the Voyager from 1984 until 2000. Following the closure of the Plymouth division in 2000, the Voyager was marketed under the Chrysler brand as a lower-trim version of the Chrysler Town & Country through 2003.
From 1988 through 2016, Chrysler used the Chrysler Voyager name for export-market minivans; during the existence of the Plymouth brand, export-market Voyagers were produced with the body and trim of the Dodge Caravan. Including the Plymouth Voyager and Dodge Caravan with their rebadged Chrysler, Lancia, and Volkswagen variants, the Chrysler minivans collectively rank as the 13th best-selling automotive model line worldwide.
The Plymouth Voyager minivan was assembled by Chrysler at its Windsor Assembly facility in Windsor, Ontario, Canada; from 1987 to 2000, the Voyager was also assembled at Saint Louis Assembly in Fenton, Missouri (North plant from 1987 through 1995; South plant from 1996 until 2000).
The full-size Plymouth Voyager van was assembled from 1974 until 1983 at the Pillette Road Truck Assembly in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and at the St. Louis North Assembly Plant in Fenton, Missouri.

VEHICLE RUNS GREAT IT JUST OCCASIONALLY WILL NOT TURN ON. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND THEY SAY IT IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I GOT A SECOND OPINION AND THAT MECHANIC ALSO TOLD ME IT WAS A ELECTRICAL ISSUE. NEITHER MECHANIC DOES ELECTRICAL WORK. I purchased the van used with 136K miles in April 2005. Although the previous owner said nothing, I knew it would need some work. During the first week, the fan belt came off and I had to replace the gasket and thermostat in the coolant area. In the second week, I took it to the dealership to find out everything that was wrong with it. They told me it needed a cam-seal and a valve gasket cover due to two oil leaks, which would cost $400. My dad and I will be doing the work ourselves. Despite these issues, the van still runs smoothly and every vehicle has some type of problem here or there. Overall, it's not too bad of a van.

I love my little voyager! It's been worth every penny of the $600 I paid for it. It has never let me down or left me stranded on the street. I highly recommend this van as cheap and reliable transportation for my family. It may not be the most beautiful van, but for $600 it brought us from TX to CT without any problems.

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share my experience with this van. I purchased it back in 1996 with 83K miles on it, and it has been a reliable vehicle for me ever since. It now has 190,000 miles on it and has never broken down on us in the 7 years we've owned it (knock on wood). We only had to take it to the shop once to get the timing belt changed, and the original alternator was just replaced a couple of months ago! My wife is interested in getting a newer van, but I'm hesitant to let go of this one. I would highly recommend this van to anyone looking for a reliable vehicle. It sounds like you have taken excellent care of it, and it has rewarded you with a smooth engine, trouble-free A/C, and clean transmission shifts. It's a shame that some people give Chryslers a bad reputation by neglecting basic maintenance like oil changes and transmission flushes. Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It seems like you got a good deal on your car, but unfortunately, it has some issues. If you ever decide to bring it into a Chrysler dealership, they can help you with the recall for the airbags and cruise control. It's important to keep in mind that older cars may require more maintenance and upkeep. While the dealer was honest, they may not have been aware of the common transmission/clutch issue at the time. Additionally, the computer system may not always register the proper codes for mechanical issues, which can be frustrating. It's good to be aware that the transmissions on these vehicles may not be equipped to handle the 3.3l engine and may require constant maintenance. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us!

This 7 passenger vehicle has a 3.3LV6 engine and a driver's side sliding door. It has 95,000 miles on the clock and has just had its first semi-major repair (starter). The rest of the car is original, including the marker bulbs. It has had one serpentine belt change and is on its 3rd set of tires and brakes, which is all normal maintenance for any car, along with oil and filter changes every 5000 miles. As a matter of principle, I will probably swap out hoses, belts, and fluids at 100k. It is a very comfortable car and has been more reliable than my wife's Honda Accord. Now that the kids are gone, I would like to get rid of it for something that gets better mileage, but I just can't justify it.

This van has been great for me and my family, and it keeps going strong year after year. It's perfect for hauling stuff (especially with the seats removed) and does a fantastic job of towing my ski boat. The only issue I've had is with the head gasket. Unfortunately, one blew at 101,000 miles, and another at 130,000. However, aside from those two incidents, it has been an incredibly dependable vehicle.

The transmission on our used 98 Plymouth Voyager Expresso edition failed within two months of purchase. This is a common issue with these vehicles due to the poor quality of the original transmissions. Fortunately, we were able to find a replacement for $2100. Despite the high cost, we took action and resolved the issue. It is clear that the dealership is responsible for selling a vehicle with a faulty transmission.
