The Nissan Murano (Japanese: 日産・ムラーノ, Hepburn: Nissan Murāno) is a mid-size crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Nissan since May 2002 for the 2003 model year, and currently in its third generation.
As Nissan's first crossover SUV for the United States and Canada, the Murano was designed at Nissan America in La Jolla, California, and was based on the Nissan FF-L platform shared with the third generation Altima. The European version of the Murano began sales in 2004.
The Murano was Nissan's only crossover SUV in the United States until September 2007, when the Rogue went on sale. In Canada, the X-Trail had been on sale as Nissan's second car based SUV since 2004 as a model for 2005; it was replaced by the 2008 Rogue at the end of 2007. The Murano is sized between the Pathfinder and the now defunct Xterra (which was replaced by the Rogue as a compact SUV). A convertible variant, the Murano CrossCabriolet, was available for the second-generation model for the model years of 2011 to 2014.

- Summary: My sunroof exploded but I don't know why. There was no warning. Might have been a rock but I didn't see one. I had the sunroof closed but the fabric cover was open for light. I heard an explosive noise and then glass started raining in. I closed the fabric cover to keep the glass out of the passenger compartment. No real injuries other than a couple of glass shards being sharp. Mostly just got some skin irritation. Some areas on my car have scratched paint and plastic parts. I had my Nissan dealer look at it. They will clean up the glass and replace the sunroof for about $2000. I feel like it should be replaced for free as a warranty item. I also got an estimate from a collision shop for about $7500. There is scratched paint and plastic as well as the headliner certainly has glass in it. Their estimate was much more detailed. Filed an insurance claim today, so hope to have it all fixed up soon.

The dealership found separation of the assembly, causing the condensation in the passenger side headlight causing it not to work. Nissan North America said the recall affects the 2013-2014 Murano vehicles. The problem stems from the power-steering hose clamp, which may not adequately secure the hose. That could allow the hose to detach and leak power-steering fluid, the company said. Power-steering fluid leaking onto a hot engine or exhaust pipes could cause a fire, Nissan said.

- Summary: july 2024 traction warning kept appearing on a daily basis. I have pushed Traction off button which both remain on then when car is off (for about 15min or so) then both disappear. However soon afterwards if I keep driving it will appear again - My fear, twice the Traction warning appeared and without putting on Traction off my Vehicle stalled - it was in a frozen state - couldn't move steering wheel -then slowly began moving at 5mph until Traction off was pushed and slowly began running again - but my car does not drive past 65mph on freeway? Steering Rack: Power steering rack and electronic power steering fluid - Power steering is very notchy. Upon inspection of vehicle found power steering rack leaking from the passenger side seal. Recommend replacing rack and bleeding power steering system. The steering wheel is attached to the steering rack by the steering shaft. When the steering wheel is turned, the steering rack interprets the directional input and pushes or pulls the front wheels in the desired direction. The steering rack is secured to the chassis.

- Summary: Hi i see this vehicle had a recall campaign previously under notice P1261/NTB12-003/NTB14-076. This campaign includes the replacement of the links and other items under this campaign. This vehicle is a convertible and the top frame is once again damaged due to the same recall for links. I recently took the vehicle to Lorenzo Nissan as the top is not working. They advised the frame links are bound, and the frame needs to be replaced. As this was covered under previous recall, the recall is obviously not adequate.

I opted for the basic model as I'm not a fan of leather seats, but I must say that the seats are very comfortable. The vehicle handles well, although the steering feel is a bit on the soft side and I wish it had better road feel. The suspension is great, with many parts made of aluminum. The car has 260 hp with 240 foot/pounds of torque, which is more than adequate for most situations. The interior cabin is noiseless and there's plenty of room in the front and back, so your passengers will be happy. I personally like the shape of the car, especially the floating roof in dark grey. However, there are a few cons to note. There's some reflection from the hood, especially the 3 or 4 inches incline near the base of the windshield. A change of hood design is needed in 2022. Also, there's a bit of reflection on the right and left side because of the shape of the hood. The hatch struts may squeak after a year, in my case it's the right side one! I'll have to look into this. The sound system is not great, but the car came with good tires (Continental). However, the wheel design is terrible, at least these 18 inch wheels! They could have done way better with a more classic design, especially with the Murano style. Possibly, I will change these for black ones in the near future. Also, there's too much chrome on this vehicle, but I did use that special 3M black tape in some areas and the car looks much better. It was easy to apply and easy to remove! Overall, I have no other issues with the Nissan Murano 2019.

I've had this car for almost 2 years and driven 25,000 miles. Everything has been great with no problems. The mileage is 27 on the highway with the A/C on and 18/19 in the city during the summer. I would definitely buy it again!

I can tell you, I absolutely love this car! I've driven both pickups and cars before, but this is the first one that I have truly fallen in love with. It's surprisingly powerful for an SUV, and I get an average of 21 MPG in town and about 24 MPG on the highway. While it may not have the same range as some other cars, it's not really a problem for me. The seats are incredibly comfortable, although the seat heaters can be a bit uneven at times, but I don't really use them anyway.

This is the second Murano I have owned. I'm so happy with it! I've driven other brands, but the looks and feel of the car surpasses them all. It's so luxurious! It easily rivals the much more expensive luxury cars. The interior is very comfortable and provides ample room, even for 3 adults in the back seat. The ride is smooth and easy to drive. I absolutely love my new Murano!

I'm so glad you're enjoying your new SUV! The styling is fantastic and the rear view side mirrors provide great visibility. The electronic package is also very intuitive and easy to use. It's great to hear that the acceleration is good in traffic and that the safety features, such as lane detection and warning, as well as automatic deacceleration in auto mode, are working well for you. While it is a relatively large vehicle, I'm happy to hear that you like the handling features. Overall, it sounds like this luxury SUV is definitely worth the price!

I traded in my 4Runner for a Murano just over a year ago, but unfortunately, I have not been satisfied with my decision. The Murano developed rattles quite quickly and it seems like every time I fix one, another one appears. The ride is also quite rough, which only exacerbates the rattling issue. While the car does have some nice features and looks good, I have been disappointed with its gas mileage, which has only been around 19-20 mpg on the highway. On the other hand, my husband recently purchased a 2004 4Runner with a V6 and has been very happy with it. It gets better gas mileage, has a much smoother ride, and has more room. Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing a 2006 Murano.

Hello! We bought our 04 SL AWD fully loaded Murano brand new in the summer of 2004. Recently, we traded it in at 164,545 miles this summer (2014), so I can provide a comprehensive history of this car. Within a couple of years, the 'leather' driver's seat started cracking badly on the sides. We had to replace the steering rack, two power steering lines and a sensor, an oil cooler seal, and countless tires because the car never aligned properly and would make tires very loud. By the time the car was 6 years old, the rattles and switch failures, car locks, etc. started to add up. We traded it in with lots of small problems and an oil leak. Unfortunately, this experience has left us feeling disappointed with Nissan. We would recommend considering other options. Thank you for reading!

Although the Murano is a decent SUV, my recent experiences with Nissan have left me disappointed. Both of my Muranos, including this one, required transmission replacements, which were covered under warranty but did not seem to restore the vehicle's performance to its previous level. Additionally, I encountered several fit and finish issues that Nissan was unwilling to address, such as the need to replace the tires after only 12,000 miles and multiple broken plastic interior trim pieces within the first 18 months. Despite my efforts to maintain the car properly, Nissan's corporate representatives suggested that the issues were my fault. While I have owned four Nissans in the past, I am now considering other options that may better meet my needs.

I still love the look of this vehicle, the comfort and the ride (when it is working properly). However, I have had to replace several parts, including the entire exhaust system, 2 wheel bearings, numerous tie rod ends, brakes, calipers and discs, and a VDC sensor that cost over $300. I have also had to replace the tires every year at a cost of $1,000. Recently, I have had to deal with a broken driver's seat, a dead rear wiper motor, and another tie rod end, which cost me over $1,000. Unfortunately, it has been at the dealers every month, costing me a minimum of $500 every time. It's been a bit frustrating, but I'm hopeful that things will improve soon.
