2022 Land rover Range rover velar problems
The Land Rover Range Rover Velar, generally known as the Range Rover Velar, (/ˈvɛlər/) is a crossover SUV produced by British automotive company Jaguar Land Rover under their Land Rover marque. The fourth model in the Range Rover line, the Velar was unveiled on 1 March 2017 in London, England. The Velar was released in the summer of 2017. The name Velar had previously been used for a series of pre-production first-generation Range Rovers in 1969.
The vehicle received a facelift in 2023.
Design
The Range Rover Velar ushers in a new design language for Land Rover that is influenced by Land Rover's previous design language that began with the Evoque and most recently was used in the Range Rover Sport. The new design language features smoother lines on the body, and emphasises sportiness and on-road ability, but more important is the new interior design language that begins with the Velar, which will later spread to other Range Rover models. The interior of the Velar is influenced by that of the Jaguar I-Pace of 2018 and features 3 touchscreens, which control most of the interior features of the Velar. The cockpit of the Velar is more driver-focused and the seating position is lower than any other Land Rover before, as sportiness and on-road performance are top priorities.

Common 2022 Land rover Range rover velar problems
The Range Rover Velar, produced between 2017 and 2023, has been reported to have several common problems based on complaints from its owners.
Transmission problems have also been reported, with difficulties shifting gears, transmission fluid leaks, and overheating being common issues. To prevent further damage, it is recommended to contact a garage with specialist Land Rover diagnostic tools for a quick resolution.
Suspension issues, such as stiff suspension, excessive bouncing, and a rough ride, can be symptomatic of common problems like worn-out struts and worn or damaged bushings. Regular inspections by a qualified mechanic can help avoid these common suspension issues.
Broken air conditioning is another problem reported by Range Rover Velar owners. Common air conditioning issues include compressor electrical faults, refrigerant system leaks, clogged air filters, and malfunctioning evaporators. These issues are typically more affordable to resolve but should still be addressed by a reputable garage to ensure proper repair or replacement of OEM parts.
Electrical faults are a common problem with not only Range Rover Velars but also other Land Rover vehicles. Alongside infotainment system issues, other common electrical faults include problems with the rearview camera, lighting system, and keyless entry system. To identify and address these issues, it is recommended to take the vehicle to a garage with a relevant diagnostic machine.
Lastly, a recall campaign was announced in February 2023 for the camshaft carrier oil gallery, which can lead to an oil leak in models produced in 2022 and 2023. Owners of affected vehicles may have yet to be contacted, and it is advised to contact a local Land Rover dealer for more information
In summary, the Range Rover Velar has several common problems, including issues with door handles, infotainment systems, transmission, suspension, air conditioning, and electrical systems. - Date Of Incident: 2023-02-22
- VIN: SALYT2EXXNA
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: The latest incidence of this problem occurred while paused in an intersection waiting to turn left when the flow of traffic allowed. As has happened on other occasions, when attempting to proceed forward from a stop, the transmission had changed to Neutral. The shifter position could not be changed without shutting off the car and turning it back on. All the while people behind are blaring their horns and oncoming traffic is resuming. This problem has occurred on numerous other occasion, most often when stopped at a stop light. It is an intermittent problem, and the majority of the time the car operates properly. However, it seems to be occurring more frequently lately. The problem has been reported to the dealer service department, and they could not duplicate it when the vehicle was provided for evaluation. They also say that there are no service bulletins on this. As an additional note, we thought perhaps this problem could be associated with the automatic shutoff feature, so we have been turning that off when driving the car. However, the problem still occurs when that is disabled.
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-11-15
- VIN: SALYJ2EX1NA

However, while at the stop light, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact noticed that the transmission was in neutral (N). The contact shifted into park(P) and then shifted into drive(D). The contact continued driving however, the failure reoccurred twice on two different occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where an unknown software update was performed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and remained at the dealer for a month. - Summary: I purchased my vehicle in Feb, 2022. In April, I was stopped at a red light and the automatic brake "hold" feature enabled. I pressed the gas and nothing happened. The vehicle went from Drive to Neutral. Had to put vehicle in Park and then put in drive. Again in May, 2022, it happened twice in one day. Stopped at stop sign vehicle went from Drive to Neutral. Called service - was told it was a "computer update". June 2022, I was driving down a street and the automatic emergency brake enabled for no reason whatsoever. I had the "computer update" in June, 2022. I now drive with the Automatic On/Off enabled so the car does not shut off when at a stop. Still very to nerve wracking to drive.

- Date Of Incident: 2022-05-23

Most recently 24th March, 30th April, 8th April, 10th May and 23rd May. I took it to the dealership in February spoke with service advisor and he told me it's a known problem. They cleared some codes and this is still happening. I feel unsafe and this has to stop. While driving today (23rd May), the Velar switch from drive to neutral while changing lanes. My brain and body can not deal with this impending calamity. My sanity can't handle it.

Although the car has an impressive appearance, the electronic components have proven to be problematic and have not been resolved despite multiple attempts. It is advisable to consider other brands. Fortunately, my lease has ended and I can move on to a more reliable vehicle.

The vehicle has had some issues with power, reliability, and software, as well as quirks in the electrical system and faulty hoses. Additionally, the user interface could benefit from some improvements. However, it's important to note that this is just my personal experience and others may have different opinions.
