The Ford Super Duty (also known as the Ford F-Series Super Duty) is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.

Rather than adapting the lighter-duty F-150 truck for heavier use, Super Duty trucks have been designed as a dedicated variant of the Ford F-Series. The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb (3,900 kg), Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option.

Ford also offers a medium-duty version of the F-Series (F-650 and F-750), which is sometimes branded as the Super Duty, but is another chassis variant. The Super Duty pickup truck also served as the basis for the Ford Excursion full-sized SUV.

The Super Duty trucks and chassis-cabs are assembled at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and at Ohio Assembly in Avon Lake, Ohio. Prior to 2016, medium-duty trucks were assembled in Mexico under the Blue Diamond Truck joint venture with Navistar International.

Summary: This submission is more related to a brand-new fuel line that was purchased from the Ford dealer for this vehicle upon failure of the existing line. When the new line was removed from the packaging, the mechanic inspected the clip that secures the line to the secondary fuel filter housing. It was observed that the brand-new clip was defective and that even the slightest touch of the clip would unlock the line. It is believed that if this line were installed in the vehicle, the vibration of the engine could potentially unclip the line causing fuel to spray in the hot engine compartment. The line was retained and can be provided for examination.

Summary: The truck was traveling west on [XXX] towards Stockton when the instrument panel illuminated with a “Low Fuel Pressure” warning and the coworker (CW) immediately pulled over. Once on the side of the road, the CW confirmed the truck was leaking fuel and the local garage was contacted. It was found that a line running to the secondary fuel filter had come loose and was leaking from the fitting. Summary: Ford Motor Company has had a known issue with the truck frames cracking on the F-550 chassis. They acknowledged it by doing a recall, which either replaced or repaired the chassis frame or installed reinforcement braces if no cracks were visible. The recall expired in September of 2023. In October 2023 we noticed a crack on the frame just outside the recall reinforcement brace that Ford-certified technicians installed. We found another in November (reinforcement brace installed) and another in January (with Ford's new and improved frame produced due to a recall issue). Ford has denied making the repairs since the original warranty expired, even though this was the same related issue. We have been dealing with Ford Motor Company since October in hopes of resolving the issue but they continue to give us any resolution. The problem has not only caused a burden on our workforce but also caused great safety concerns. With Ford avoiding responsibility, they are allowing trucks to operate daily on our highway system, which becomes a safety concern for not only the driver but for many other motorists. The problem existed, but the issue was not resolved, all we are asking is that they take responsibility for making the repairs and permanently resolving the issue for the safety of all motorists.

Summary: This concerns the International 6.4 Liter Diesel engine used in 2008-2010 Ford Super Duty Trucks. It is common knowledge in the industry that these are "bad" engines however there has been no recall as of date. In my situation, while under warranty, and carrying a load (5,000 lbs), the vehicle when into "limp mode" during an extended trip. After the load was emptied I took the vehicle to the dealer and they found nothing wrong with. Now at 25,000 miles, and out warranty timewise, the turbo(s) blew, evidencing that the truck had weak turbos from the factory. When referenced these occurrences, Ford still will not honor their warranty even though my initial complaint was timely and validly made. Ford misdiagnosed or didn't have the proper equipment to investigate my initial complaint. In any event, considering the widespread knowledge of this particular engine's defects, the entire 6.4 Fleet should be recalled as these engines have been being replaced and repaired on a massive scale.

Summary: I was driving about 57 mph headed NW on I270 in the north Denver metro area. I went over a bridge abutment and the vehicle started shaking violently in the front end. I let off the gas but the extreme vibration/shaking continued until I slowed down to around 20 mph. I thought I had lost something in the front end. Then it happened again when I was driving between I70 and US 50 in western Colorado. I was only going 30 miles an hour and hit a rotomilled section of asphalt(a perfect edge drop to the rotomilled pavement) and the violent shaking started but ended much quicker as I slowed down to about 10 mph. First incident was 8/12/23 and second incident was 8/21/23

Summary: Brought the truck in to ford and they told me that paint lining from the tank may of gone into the fuel lines and system so they suggested that we replace the tank and they also replaced 2 injectors and the wiring harness for the injectors and reset the check engine light drove fine till the check engine light come on then its in limp mode and only drives at 40 miles per hour it is unsafe to drive on the highway and I do like this truck

Summary: While driving and getting off the freeway at approximately 55 PMH truck when into a violent death wobble and had to slam on the brakes and come to a complete stop before it started. Truck has 36,384 miles on it and all front end steering is tight with no play, steering stabilizer was replaced with an aftermarket due to Ford's is an National back order and not known when will be available and Ford told me that this is not covered under warranty or any recall even though there are 5100 of them on back order! I am a 35 year ASE Master Mechanic with a Bachelor Degree is Diesel Power Technology and run a companies fleet of over 40 trucks, we have our own shop and inspected this truck ourselves and repaired.

Summary: I receive notice about recall 22s17. Brought to Ford service in Woodbine, NJ. After my truck was reprogramed the truck doesn't intially connect to the trailer. If I turn off ignition and turn back on the truck doesn't realize it is connected to the trailer. I must idle the truck get out of my truck unplug then plug the trailer connector back into the 7 pin plug for the truck to recognize the trailer for the trailer brakes to work. This truck is my only work truck and I need a solution quickly.

Summary: While driving down the road at approximately 45 mph, under normal conditions, with no warning indicators the low fuel pressure light came on. When the driver stopped the vehicle he lost all power and observed smoke emanating from the underside and hood of the vehicle. Prior to him exiting the vehicle he observed flames shooting out from under the console towards his feet. Upon exiting the vehicle I saw flames under the hood of the vehicle and utilized his supplied fire extinguisher to attempt to put the fire out. This was futile and to our benefit he had a pressure washer and 119 gallons of water that he was able to put into action to subdue the fire. Noting that the drivers side front fender melted off and a hole melted in the drivers side hood from the fire. The entire engine compartment was burned as well as melted components and plastic in the passenger compartment of the vehicle from the fire.

Summary: Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022-2023 Ford Super Duty F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 vehicles. The fasteners for the front wheel hub extender may be insufficiently tightened, which can result in the wheel and wheel extender detaching from the vehicle.
Consequence: Wheel detachment can result in a loss of vehicle control and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the repair has been performed. Dealers will inspect the front wheel hub extender retaining nuts. If the retaining nuts are loose, dealers will replace the wheel hub extender, retaining nuts, and hub assembly. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F600, and 2023 E-Series vehicles. In addition, certain 2016 E-Series, 2017 and 2019 F-450, 2021 F-350, and 2021 Transit vehicles that received a reprinted label are also included in this recall. The Safety Certification Labels are missing the tire size, rim type, and tire pressure values for both the front and rear axles. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 110, "Tire Selection and Rim", and 120, "Wheels and Rims-Other Than Passenger Cars."
Consequence: Missing tire information could lead to an incorrect tire or rim being installed, or incorrect tire pressure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles. Dust may accumulate in the steering wheel clock spring, causing a disconnection in the electrical connection resulting in the driver's air bag not deploying as intended.
Consequence: A disconnected driver's air bag can result in it not deploying, as intended, during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the steering wheel clock spring, free of charge. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the 3rd Quarter of 2023. An interim notification letter informing owners of the safety risk was mailed on July 6, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed July 10, 2023.
