I was told by the dealership that the short block would need to be replaced and that they found chunks of metal up to 2 inches in the oil pan. - Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Lexus LX600 vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.
- Consequence: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the engine assembly, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed July 29, 2024. A second notice will be sent once the remedy is available. The remedy will be launched in four phases beginning in December 2024. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 24TB07/24TA07 and 24LB04/24LA04.

- Consequence: An overloaded vehicle increases the risk of a crash.

- Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles. The plastic fuel tube routed near metallic brake lines may chafe against the brake lines and become damaged, possibly resulting in a fuel leak.
- Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: As an interim repair, dealers will install protective materials and a clamp on the fuel tube, free of charge. Once the final remedy is available, dealers will replace the fuel tube, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed October 6, 2023. Owners will receive a second notice once remedy becomes available, anticipated October 30, 2024. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. - Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles that may be equipped with a Toyota genuine accessory tonneau cover. The tonneau cover attachment joints may come loose and allow the cover to detach.
- Consequence: A tonneau cover that detaches while driving can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Owners of the subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail to return their vehicles to a Toyota dealer. Dealer will install new hardware (bolts, spacers, washers, nuts, rubber washers and cotter pins) to the existing bracket and tonneau cover. If the tonneau cover has tears or splits at the mounting holes to the extent that new hardware cannot be installed, it will be replaced with a new tonneau cover and hardware. The Skid Control ECU within the Brake Actuator Assembly may falsely detect an overcurrent condition of the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Actuator and enter a failsafe mode which prevents the EPB from being engaged. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
- Consequence: An electronic parking brake that cannot be engaged while in "park," may result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

- Consequence: A rearview camera that fails to display the correct image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.

The truck has some issues that need to be addressed. It tends to slam the brakes on unexpectedly and hesitates between 5 and 10 mph. Additionally, the emergency brake doesn't seem to work properly. There is also some road noise that starts at around 40 mph, which is quite loud and seems to be coming from the front doors. The weather stripping is too small to be effective against road noise. The truck's gas mileage is not as good as advertised, getting 15 City and 20 Highway instead of the promised 18 and 23. The truck also struggles on rough roads due to poor shocks. It has had two recalls and there is a code that comes up indicating charging issues. Overall, these issues need to be addressed to improve the truck's performance and safety.

I purchased mine in March of 22 and have had a great experience. It's smooth, fast, and the most fun truck I have owned. I have had no issues with this truck, and I live in the country with very little city traffic to deal with, so my gas mileage is 22 most of the time.

This truck drives and rides fine. However, I noticed that the fancy armrest makes an annoying rattle sound on roads with minor bumps. Additionally, I found it inconvenient that only the driver's door unlocks when you touch it, while the other doors require you to touch the passenger door to unlock them all. It would be great if there was an option to have all doors unlock when the driver's door is touched.

So much space! This truck has a panoramic roof, a 14-inch screen, Bluetooth CarPlay, and even WiFi! It also comes with back-up cameras, a rear-view camera in the mirror, and a camera to check out items in the truck bed. When the vehicle stops, there's even an optional setting to see if the vehicle is in its lane. Plus, with four-wheel drive, this truck is perfect for any adventure. We absolutely love it!

I've been driving my Tundra for six months now and I absolutely love how it handles, especially the big screen. However, I have noticed some issues with the build quality. Unfortunately, the body seems to be quite fragile. I had a couple of minor incidents where I gently reversed into a pile of snow, but both times the car sustained damage. The first time, a piece of the right rear bumper broke off. The second time, the bed step was impacted and broke off completely. It's disappointing that such a small impact could cause such significant damage. I used to own a 2013 4runner, which was much sturdier compared to this new Tundra. While the Tundra is fancy, the body is not as reliable as I had hoped.

I am confident in stating that my experience with my Toyota has been less than satisfactory. Despite owning it for several months, it has required multiple repairs and has been in the shop since May, with an expected release date in September. The constant need for repairs has been frustrating and has prevented me from being able to use the vehicle as intended. I believe that a different brand, such as Ford, would have been a more reliable choice for my needs.

Out of the 7 Toyotas we have owned, 4 were Tundras, and we currently own a 2013 and a 2022 model. However, we have noticed that the seats in the 2022 model are uncomfortable due to the springy feel, and the ride is noisy with wind noise being noticeable. Despite our love for travelling, we prefer driving the 2013 model due to its superior comfort.

The rear view mirror does not have a hookup for the garage door and the back seat is quite small. Additionally, the gas mileage is not as advertised and you have to subscribe to get navigation. However, I hope that it proves to be dependable.
