- Summary: Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain model year 2005-2008 Quattroporte, 2008 Granturismo, and 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C vehicles. The rear tie rod assemblies may have insufficient anti-corrosion material applied, allowing them to weaken and possibly fail.
- Consequence: Failure of the tie rods may result in a loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Maserati will notify owners and dealers will replace the tie rod assemblies. The recall began on June 27, 2013. Customers may contact Maserati at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's recall campaign number is 205.

This car has a manual transmission, which was not available in the list, but all 2006 QP's were. I purchased it with 1200 miles and have been driving it daily. I still love driving it and admiring its beauty! At first, I was surprised that the clutch and rear brakes only lasted 12,000 miles, but I realized that it was due to showing off the car's performance to friends. Since then, it has been much better. The brakes and tires wear twice as fast as the fronts, which was unexpected. Some minor issues have arisen, such as window regulators going out, a short in the wiring to the trunk lid, and valets breaking the reverse switch. Regular maintenance is important and pays off in the long run.

I am a new owner, so I may be biased by the excitement of having a new car, but this vehicle truly excites all of one's senses. The sound of the Sport GT is simply spectacular as it reaches the red line. I absolutely love my car.

This car is amazing! Your dad made a great choice when he bought it in July. He's driven some impressive cars like the Mercedes-Benz S500, S55 AMG, BMW 745Li, and Jaguar XJR, but the Maserati is definitely the most special. It's unique and eye-catching, and people can't help but stare and give compliments. The driving experience is a dream come true. The car handles corners like a pro, even though it's a 5,000 lb. + four-door sedan. In fact, it handles better than your dad's heavily modded Porsche C4. Once you've driven this car, it's hard to go back to mass-produced German and British cars. It makes you feel special, and you'll find yourself going outside just to look at it. In my opinion, this is the best-designed sedan on the market today.

This most recent iteration of the Maserati Quattroporte is truly exceptional. The 8 cyl 4.2l dry-sump Maserati engine produces an impressive 400 bhp without the need for a turbo or supercharger, surpassing anything from BMW or Mercedes-Benz. The engine's placement low and behind the front axle, and the transmission on the rear axle, give this 4200 lb luxury sedan the handling of an F-16. The big sticky Bridgestone runflats keep it firmly on the road, allowing you to accelerate through even the tightest turns. The sensuous curves of the Pininfarina body set the Quattroporte apart from the edgy, techno-bods of its German competitors. Everywhere you go, heads turn, thumbs go up, and tongues hang out. It's an outstanding car.

I have owned two Quattroportes, and unfortunately, my first one had several issues with its computer, sensor, and transmission. However, I must say that the dealership and support team have been exceptional in their efforts to make things right. My second Quattroporte is currently undergoing transmission re-building, but it is still a beautiful car and a joy to drive. It is a shame that Maserati's goal of an entry-level exotic is not being met due to quality control issues in a 100k car. I hope that Maserati will take the necessary steps to rectify this situation and make me a happy customer. At the moment, it falls short of being a prime time player.

Although my sedan has a sports car chassis and looks gorgeous, I have had a few issues with it. Unfortunately, it has spent 6 out of the 20 days I've owned it in the shop. Out of the 530 miles I've driven, 162 miles (31%) have been repair-related. This is not ideal, especially since some features that have been standard in other luxury cars for a decade are missing. However, I am confident that these problems will be resolved soon. Despite the issues, I have found the car to be really fun to drive and it definitely turns heads. (I'm old enough to know it's the car, not me, causing the head-turning.)

The car is absolutely stunning! It's definitely one of the most beautiful sedans out there. However, I've had some trouble with the dealership we use. Unfortunately, they don't have any mechanics for the car, which can be frustrating. One time, I had an appointment and they told me that their mechanics were at the races and couldn't take care of my car. It was during the November 2006 race at Homestead Speedway, which was a shame. I understand that all American cars have their quirks, but it was disappointing that the mechanics were unavailable when I needed them. Additionally, I've noticed that the car has a tire error that can cause issues if you make a tight u-turn. The 2005 transmission can take some time to pick up, but hopefully they've perfected it by now. Lastly, the 6-CD changer can rattle a bit, but it's a small issue in the grand scheme of things. Overall, this car is perfect for long trips and highway driving. It truly is a gorgeous car!

I'm having a really tough time figuring out why my $113k car is worse than my '92 Chevy Cavalier. This car has been in the shop more times than I can count. It has had too many problems for a luxury car, including computer sensor and transmission failures, alarm malfunctions, clutch and battery issues, and engine failure system problems, just to name a few. I will never buy another one.
