The task of styling the Quattroporte was given to Turinese coachbuilder Pietro Frua, who drew inspiration from a special 5000 GT (chassis number 103.060) which he had designed in 1962 for Prince Karim Aga Khan. While the design was by Frua, body construction was carried out by Vignale.

Summary: I WAS DRIVING ON A 2 LANE STREET (CRAWFORD ST) IN SKOKIE IL, WHEN A CAR GOING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION CAME INTO OUR LANE HEADING HEAD ON INTO OUR CAR, I TRIED TO PROCEED OVER THE CURB/SIDEWALK INTO THE GRASS INTO SOMEONE'S FRONT LAWN, THE OTHER CAR HIT MY DRIVER DOOR WENT DOWN THE SIDE OF THE CAR WHICH STRAIGHTEN MY VEHICLE OUT FROM THE DIRECTION I WAS GOING. THAT MADE MY CAR GO DIRECTLY INTO PROBABLY A 40' TALL WOODEN LIGHT POLE, WE SNAPPED THE POLE ABOUT 2' ABOVE GROUND LEVEL AND THE POLE WENT UP IN THE AIR AND CAME DOWN ON TOP OFF THE CAR, SMASHED THE SUN ROOF, THE TOP OF THE CAR, THE TRUCK AND BOUNCE OFF THE CAR ONTO THE GROUND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I PROCEEDED TO CHECK ON MY WIFE SHE WAS SCREAMING IN PAIN AND SCARED. THE CAR WAS SMOKING FROM THE ENGINE BECAUSE THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING, WHICH ALSO THERE WAS A POWER LINE FROM THE POLE ON THE GROUND I TRIED TO SHUT THE CAR OFF FROM THE USH START BUT NUMEROUS TIMES CAR WOULD NOT SHUT OFF, SO I HAD TO KICK MY DRIVER DOOR OPEN WENT AND TOOK MY WIFE OUT OF THE CAR. WITH ALL THE IMPACTS (3 TOTAL) NO AIR BAGS WENT OFF WHICH COULD HAVE STOPPED ME AND MY WITH FROM HITTING THE WINDSHIELD, FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO CUT THE BATTERY CABLE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF, LUCKILY WE DIDN'T GO THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. WE CAME OUT WITH CUT, BRUISES, TORN LIGAMENTS, BACK PAIN AND SORENESS BUT WE BOTH ARE STILL HERE. I FEEL THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I PAID FOR THIS CAR EVERYTHING SHOULD BE UP TO PAR ESPECIALLY THE SAFETY AIRBAGS. *TR

Manufacturer: Maserati North America, Inc.
Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
Summary: Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli vehicles. During production of the fuel lines, the lines may have been damaged, possibly resulting in a fuel leak.
Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel line assemblies, free of charge, unless previously repaired under recall 17V-045. The recall began January 15, 2019. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 378. Note: This recall supersedes recall number 17V-045.

Summary: Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Quattroporte and Ghibli, and 2017 Levante vehicles. Adjusting the front seats may cause the seat wiring harness to rub, possibly resulting in an electrical short.
Consequence: An electrical short can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles, replacing the seat wiring harness, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began June 26, 2017. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 342.

Summary: Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain model year 2014 Quattroporte and Ghibli vehicles manufactured June 1, 2013, to February 28, 2014. The affected vehicles, equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a monostable gear selector, may mislead owners about which gear the vehicle is in and may not adequately warn the driver when driver's door is opened and the vehicle is not in PARK, allowing them to exit the vehicle while the vehicle is still in gear.
Consequence: Drivers thinking that their vehicle's transmission is in the PARK position may be struck by the vehicle and injured if they attempt to get out of the vehicle while the engine is running and the parking brake is not engaged.
Remedy: Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will perform a software update, free of charge. The remedy software is currently in development. Owners were mailed an interim notification on July 1, 2016. A second notice will be mailed when the software is available. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 307.

Summary: Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Quattroporte and Ghibli vehicles manufactured February 1, 2013, to September 18, 2015. During the assembly process, the rear tie-rod to hub assembly attaching bolt may not have been properly tightened.
Consequence: An improperly tightened rear tie-rod to hub carrier assembly attaching bolt may allow the tie-rod to separate from the hub carrier, resulting in a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the left and right rear tie-rod to hub carrier assembly attaching bolts to verify that they are properly tightened, replacing the rear tie-rod to hub carrier assembly as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during July 2016. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 303.

Summary: Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Quattroporte and Ghibli vehicles manufactured February 1, 2013, to November 30, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the driver-side floor mat anchor may break allowing the floor mat to move and get trapped between the accelerator pedal and the vehicle carpet.
Consequence: If the floor mat moves and becomes trapped between the accelerator and the vehicle carpet, it may result in very high vehicle speeds, which could cause a crash, serious injury or death.
Remedy: Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver-side floor mat and possibly the accelerator pedal cover, free of charge. The recall began April 29, 2016. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 301. Note: These vehicles are equipped with a brake override system. In the event a pedal is trapped, pushing on the brake pedal will brake the vehicle and enable the driver to slow and stop and turn off the vehicle.

Summary: Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Quattroporte, and Ghibli vehicles manufactured July 23, 2014, to August 7, 2014. The fuel delivery hoses in the vehicles may have been improperly crimped.
Consequence: The improper crimp can cause a fuel leak and, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire.
Remedy: Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will replace the entire fuel delivery line, free of charge. The recall began in October 2014. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 256.

I love the spacious interior and the quick acceleration too. While some other brands may offer more electronics, I personally don't use all of the features that my Quattroporte already has. I'm still really enjoying the car. I've had to replace the brake shoes and headlights at this point. The only downside is that the new brake shoes tend to squeal when stopping slowly. Nonetheless, I still love the car.

Your Maserati GTS sounds amazing! It's incredibly fast, reaching 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and exceeding 200 mph three times. The design is stunning and it turns heads everywhere you go. It's great to hear that it's also comfortable on long trips, even without the massaging seats. You must be quite the racer, having beaten Corvettes, Mercedes, and Porsches. It's impressive that you haven't been beaten at any speed yet. Safety is clearly a top priority for you, as you only race at the right time and never put anyone in jeopardy. The sound system is also exceptional, with Bowers and Wilkens. It's great that your GTS has every option and was such a great deal at over $100,000 less than the listed price. It's clear that you have a lot of experience with classic and race cars, and the Maserati GTS seems to be the perfect combination of both. It's great to hear that you've had zero problems with it. Have fun driving it!
