- Consequence: Failure of the tie rods may result in a loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.

Hey there! If you're in the market for a new car, I highly recommend checking out the 2005-2008 Maserati Quattroporte pre-face lift models. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! I recently sold my 2002 911 cab and 2004 BMW 7 Series to upgrade to a 2007 QP Exec GT and 07 Escalade, and I have to say, the Maserati is by far the coolest. With a powerful engine boasting 400 hp and lots of torque, the sound of the exhaust (which gets even louder on Sport Mode), and the unique interior and exterior styling, this car is truly one-of-a-kind. Plus, it's not a mechanical nightmare at all - I've had mine for 4 years (from 2011 through present/2016) and have had no problems. Sure, maintenance prices at the Ferrari/Maserati dealer are a bit higher than at a Cadillac dealer, but that's just one of the trade-offs for driving a hand-built Italian semi-exotic. And let me tell you, the way this car drives above 50 MPH is hard to describe - it feels even better than my modern day 911 did at speeds over 80. It's like the car is begging you to give it more gas! I know this might sound weird, but I find myself taking care of this car like it's a living pet or something - I just love it that much. Firstly, it's important to understand that owning one of these cars is different from owning any of its German competitors. Parts and service costs are higher, wait times are longer, and consumables like brakes and tires will wear out faster than on an S-Class or 7er. However, the fifth gen QP (in Automatica spec) has proven to be reliable. My own car, an '07 Sport GT Automatica, has over 100K on the clock and everything works as it should. The quality of some of the interior trim may not be quite as good as the Germans, but the hide on the seats holds up very well and the seats are supremely comfortable on long hauls. It would be nice if they raised up a bit higher to allow better legroom and more thigh support. Otherwise, no complaints about comfort at all. The suspension system does have a tendency to eat bushings rather quickly and they're expensive to replace, and handling can become a bit This car is a great value, especially considering its current depreciation. As long as you have a competent and fair dealer or a good Italian car indie nearby, you'll have no problem using this car every day. Just be prepared for frequent replacement of the rear tires and brakes. It's important to go into Italian car ownership with realistic expectations, as they require more maintenance. However, as they say, nothing beautiful is easy to keep! The car has been well-maintained and has had regular replacements of parts such as front end bushes, anti-roll bar bushes, and front skyhook strut assemblies. With 139K miles as of November 2019, the car is still flawless. The driver's door window regulator and the driver's door main window switch pack had to be replaced, but these are expected for a car of this age and mileage. Overall, this car is a reliable and beautiful choice that I plan to drive until it is no longer practical. The battery was recently replaced after six years, but other than that, the car has been performing fabulously. The body, paint, and interior still look incredible, thanks to regular maintenance and care. Even after a 3,200 mile trip and being surrounded by new Bentleys and Lamborghinis on a family vacation in Miami, the car still turns heads. As we approach the 200K mark, I'm confident that the car will continue to perform well. I'm considering replacing it with a QP-S from 2012 or 2013 when the time comes. A friend of mine bought a '13 QP GTS, but I found the ride too stiff for my liking. I prefer Skyhook over the Bilstein fixed rate dampers on the GTS. Update 2/1/22: The QP is still performing beautifully with approximately 166K on the odometer. Some front end bushings and sway bar end links have been replaced, but otherwise, it's still a fabulous car. UPDATE (way overdue): As of July 2023, the car has 170K miles. I recently did some routine service and replaced the front pads and rotors. Next week, I'll be replacing the engine mounts, which were last done around 95K miles. The only other repair needed right now is a new front coil spring as the left front is broken, so I'll be replacing both. Everything else on the car is flawless as always.

Title says it all. This car makes me feel like the Godfather every time I drive it. The styling, inside and out, is a perfect creation by the masters at Pininfarina. The seats alone are like $10k Italian furniture pieces! The engine is wonderfully powerful, with a huge torque curve maxing-out at over 7000RPM. The SOUND from this car is totally out of this world and isn't comparable to the noise of any other 4-door on the planet. All of the seats are adjustable with massive leg and head room. I'm 6'5

It's unfortunate that my lease is ending on the QP, but I wanted to take a moment to express how much I've enjoyed driving this amazing car. Despite owning several high-end vehicles in the past, including Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and other luxury sedans, the QP stands out as the best all-around car I've ever had the pleasure of driving. Its Ferrari-inspired design and top-of-the-line drive train and suspension make it a true standout in the crowded field of luxury performance sedans. Compared to other luxury brands like Mercedes and BMW, the Italians really know how to create a car that is both elegant and high-performing. This Italian creation is a true embodiment of style, which is highly valued by the Italians. The car is admired by people of all ages and economic backgrounds. This is actually my second Quattroporte; the first one ('84) was my daily driver for 8 years. The build quality of this car has improved beyond belief. I drive it hard and enjoy it the way it was intended to be enjoyed. So far, I have not encountered any problems. The performance is simply amazing. Once you get a sense of where the limits are, you can truly experience the thrill of a sports car in the morning and enjoy the luxury as you and your friends arrive at your favorite 5-star restaurant in the evening. The controls are easy to use and well positioned. However, it's worth noting that the transmission is a standard when driving on hills.

The car is absolutely stunning! It's definitely one of the most beautiful sedans out there. However, I've had some trouble with the dealership we use. Unfortunately, they don't have any mechanics for the car, which can be frustrating. One time, I had an appointment and they told me that their mechanics were at the races and couldn't take care of my car. It was during the November 2006 race at Homestead Speedway, which was full of American cars. I understand that the mechanics were busy, but it was disappointing that someone who paid $130,000 for her car wasn't a top priority. Additionally, the car has a tire error that can be a bit of a hassle. If you make a tight u-turn, the tire can get slashed by the body. The 2005 transmission takes some time to pick up, but hopefully they've perfected it by now. Lastly, the 6-CD changer rattles quite a bit, but overall, this car is perfect for long trips and highway driving. It truly is a gorgeous car!

I appreciate the opportunity to try out the Maserati, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. Although the car looked stunning at the dealer and drove well during the test drive, I encountered some issues during my lease. The rear seat comfort was not up to par and the navigation system malfunctioned. Additionally, I found the power to be lacking compared to my previous Mercedes Benz E55 AMG. Despite these setbacks, I am grateful for the experience and have learned that Mercedes AMG is the right choice for me.

I purchased my car in May and unfortunately, it has spent a total of 3 out of the 4 months in the shop due to various issues such as computer problems, a leak in the interior, and a faulty CD player. Although the engine and handling of the car are excellent, the quality of the car is not up to par and Maserati does not have the maintenance supply set-up to handle mass produced cars. It is important to note that they are used to Ferrari owners whose cars are not needed on a daily basis. For instance, it took 2 weeks just to get the window leak fixed. Additionally, Maserati is 5 years behind in terms of electronics and gadgetry that is common on most other mid and high end vehicles. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this car.
