The Fiat Doblò is a panel van and leisure activity vehicle produced by Italian automaker Fiat since 2000. It was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 2000. A second-generation Doblò succeeded the original vehicle in 2010 for most markets, and it was sold in the United States as the RAM ProMaster City from 2015 to 2022. The second generation was also sold in Europe and the UK as the Opel/Vauxhall Combo. The third-generation Doblò, a rebadged version of the Citroën Berlingo, was unveiled in June 2022, and is also sold as the Opel or Vauxhall Combo, Peugeot Partner, and Toyota ProAce.

First generation (2000)

It was first launched to the public in the Netherlands, and received the "2006 International Van of the Year" award by an international jury from 19 countries. In Singapore, a 1.4 litre LAV variant is marketed as the Fiat Panorama in five and seven seater versions. The first Doblò was sold in January 2001.

The Doblò carries a payload of up to 730 kg (1,609 lb), with an interior volume of 3.2 cubic metres (110 cu ft). The Doblò uses Fiat Strada's platform, in turn derived from the Fiat Palio's one, using a rigid axle with leaf springs at the rear, instead of a torsion beam with coil springs as on the Palio.

It is manufactured by Fiat's Tofaş subsidiary factory in Bursa, Turkey, in Brazil since 2002 and in Russia and Vietnam. Turkish models have an engine range that includes a 1.4 litre petrol, a 1.9 litre MultiJet, and a 16 valve 1.3 litre MultiJet.

In North Korea, Pyonghwa Motors produces Doblò branded as its own name Ppeokkugi.

The facelift version came in October 2005, and was restyled with modifications to the front and rear light groups, and the total design of the front part.

Hey there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with this product. While I've owned it since 2015 and have put nearly 60,000 miles on it, I've unfortunately encountered a few issues. The Bluetooth and radio have frozen on me a few times, and I've had some trouble with the rearview camera not activating. Additionally, I've had to deal with some common problems like a wobbling radiator fan and a failed thermostat/cooling sensor. The TPMS monitoring system has also given me some trouble, and I've had to replace the license plate light a few times. Just wanted to give you a heads up!

This vehicle lacks a CD/DVD player and the front seats do not recline. Additionally, there is no lever as in other vehicles I have owned or driven in over the past 45 years. There have been three recalls, and the jack that comes with the spare tire (which must be purchased separately) is unable to lift the rear wheels off the ground. Despite these issues, I am confident in my decision not to purchase this vehicle again.

  3. Nathanial Kris 2024-11-23

I have been given this vehicle to use as a service van. Unfortunately, it has been the most uncomfortable van I have had during my career. The driver's seat becomes very uncomfortable after about 45 minutes of driving, and the cab is cramped with little storage, none of which is behind the seats. I was disappointed to find that the van was not equipped with variable speed intermittent wipers, which would have been a useful feature. In the 33,000 miles that I have driven it so far, it has been in the shop twice for a bad front stabilizer/sway bar. During my second visit today, I was advised by the dealership that the part is on back order. I suppose they are on back order because of how many they are replacing? Thankfully, our fleet vehicles are rotated out after 80,000 miles. I hope and pray that my company doesn't make the same mistake of selecting this vehicle again.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my 2017 Ram Procity Master that I purchased from a dealership. As a contractor, I was looking for a more economical vehicle and this one seemed like a good fit. However, after driving it for a little over a year and putting 23,000 miles on it, I've noticed a few issues. The engine seems to consume at least a quart of oil every 3500 miles, which is a bit concerning. Additionally, I've noticed that the padding underneath the passenger seat gets soaking wet every time it rains, and the dealer hasn't been able to figure out why. Lastly, the seat is starting to wear where I normally sit, but unfortunately, the repair isn't covered. Overall, I wouldn't recommend purchasing a Chrysler product based on my experience. Thank you for listening!

  5. Henry Emard 2024-11-06

City vans are a great idea for companies that don't need full size vans for their deliveries. However, it's important that they are reliable in order to be useful. Unfortunately, this particular vehicle has not been reliable. As an employee of a large healthcare company, I can attest that all of our branches have experienced the same problems, including bad coils, transmission failures, and excessive oil consumption. While FCA makes some attractive products, they have always had reliability issues, regardless of ownership. It's disappointing that this is still acceptable to them.

Positive 2019 Ram Promaster city car reviews

  1. Johnny Pouros 2025-02-01

I've rented this van three times now and, until this current time, I noticed some comfort features lacking. First off, I'm a repair guy and I own an Avalanche truck, which can pack all my tools and pull a trailer no problem. MPG is my problem. So, the first time I rented one was in December of 2015, right after they came out. I also have a catering company and my truck was in the shop. It handled my equipment well and I was pleased. The second time, I had to pack my daughter for college and drive about 500 miles. I got about 27mpg, and that was mostly freeway. This last time, I noticed things that I hadn't before. There is a lack of two armrests, which seems like it should be commonplace, especially for a cargo van. The ability to rest your arms on the door armrest area is just a bit too far away. Your forearm is on it but your elbow is off, and if you shift towards the door, your I rented the cargo version which unfortunately doesn't have second row seats. However, the cargo area has a nice 12vdc plug which is a great feature. It's worth noting that the two plugs in the front are not 'live' unless the key is on, so you can't charge phones, tablets, etc. unless the van is on, which is a bit of a bummer. The standard rims and tires are also a bit weak. I've been searching for a van like this for the past year, but unless the Tradesman SLT has more comfort features, I'm not completely sold. On the plus side, I do like the towing feature, which is not compatible with the Chevy and Nissan but is with the Transit. As I'm on the road all day with a co-worker, these minor details are actually major for me.

  2. Kobe Ratke 2025-01-23

I completely agree with the points made in the previous three reviews. In my experience working in the service industry, the vehicle has been flawless for the first year and 25,000 miles. To avoid any potential 'clunky' performance, I highly recommend using the manual shift mode, which is very smooth. The transmission tends to seek higher gears too quickly and stay in them for too long, but I have found that staying in the gear that gives you 2000 RPM - which is usually 5th gear up to 40mph and 7th gear (out of 9 gears) for highway driving at 70mph - provides the best performance. Although my seats are manual, they are still very comfortable. Additionally, there is plenty of cargo room, and doing away with the cage provides ample space in the front cab for one person and extends leg room.

Late one night, I was researching minivans on YouTube from the comfort of my own home when I stumbled upon the Ram Promaster City Wagon. My wife wanted a stow-and-go style mini, which made me cringe, but this van caught my attention. We had already looked at and test-driven several other vans, including C, D, H, K, and T models, but they all came with a hefty price tag of $33k+. Two weeks later, we had a new Ram City Wagon SLT parked in our driveway. It was a great value for the money. We've now owned our Ram Promaster City Wagon SLT for almost three weeks and have already put 2400 miles on the clock. We absolutely love it! The ride, handling, gas mileage, and interior space are all fabulous. Our wagon came with a long list of options, including heated seats, a backup camera with rear audible sensors, fog lamps, aluminum wheels, electric windows and doors (with child-proof lockouts in the rear), an adjustable steering wheel, electric adjustable heated mirrors, a rear wiper/washer with defroster, and the Uconnect radio, which is far superior to our Mylink on our GM. The front overhead storage shelf is also awesome. For those with babies or toddlers, there are a total of eight cup/bottle holders: two in the front doors, one in the rear door, and two in the center console. The headroom, shoulder room, and legroom in both the front and back are great. The front doors offer easy access to the front seats, which are equipped with turn knobs to adjust the seat recliner with lumbar support. Unfortunately, there is no lever, but the passenger has a recliner knob. The rear sliding doors open to expose rear seats that tumble forward in a 60/40 fashion (60 on the driver's side and 40 on the passenger's side), but they are non-removable. Putting our toddler in his car seat was a breeze, with no issues of banging our heads or straining our backs. Also, each rear seating position (three in total) has the LATCH System to install a child's car seat. In terms of cabin safety, there are front airbags, and the front bucket seats are equipped with airbags. There are also side curtain airbags in the front and rear. I read something about knee protection as well.I'm not entirely sure if that refers to the airbag or just the design of the lower dash. Other safety features that seem to be standard on every vehicle should be mentioned, such as antilock brakes, skid control, and hill assist. On the topic of safety, I've read professional reviewers complain about the lack of a 3rd row seat, but personally, I'm relieved! I've witnessed several rear-end accidents on the highway, and in every case, it was an automobile that was smashed into the back, up to the rear window. It's a tragedy waiting to happen to place your children or loved ones in a far rear seat/3rd row in any minivan or small SUVs. That could result in your child being compacted in any type of rear-end collision/accident. As the driver, I have a crumple zone in front of me with airbags and a steering wheel to attempt to maneuver, but you have limited or no control whatsoever when hit from behind. With that in mind, why would you place a child in the rear crumple zone? Can you explain that to me? A quick internet search will support my opinion. I suggest purchasing a full-sized van, SUV, or a bus. The rear cargo doors are also 60/40 opening to 90 or 180 degrees, offering easy, low-height access to the rear cargo area, which is carpeted with four anchoring points and shallow built-in side shelving on both sides. The rear cargo area is roughly 49In our area, we have many unpaved, washboard, and loose gravel roads. The vehicle performs satisfactorily and stays where pointed. I have driven autocross in my Alfa, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and boats. While it may not be my Alfa Spider, it certainly isn't a barge either. The word 'fun' comes to mind, with manners. Interior noise seems to be a topic of concern, but it's a van! My wife and I both think that our Ram's interior is as quiet as our 2014 Chevy extended super quiet cab. The van has a nice sounding 6-speaker stereo, free satellite radio for a year, flawless Bluetooth hookup, and iTunes with no problem. There are two 12-volt plugs between the seats and one in the rear driver's side. Near the shifter, there is a USB and audio input for your phone. Personally, I like the look of the wagon. I have fielded many questions from similar-minded folks at almost every stop, such as gas stations, grocery stores, and even highway rest areas. I am willing to show and tell, but my wife is not so much. Our dealer in Warren, PA was superb. Hats off to Cory and Troy. It was the best experience I have ever had! Out the door with the exterior and interior protection treatments and a Michelin tire swap with nitrogen, the van came in rig.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to address a small concern I have about this otherwise fantastic minivan. During the day, I'm having a bit of trouble seeing the speedometer and tachometer. Even at night with the lights on high, they're still a bit difficult to make out. I've never had this issue with any other car or van I've owned. However, I can read the items in the info box at the bottom center with no problem. My wife and I are planning to turn this into a camper and go sightseeing, so I'm going to try to find a way to shed more light on the subject. Thanks for your understanding!

  5. Keyshawn Doyle 2024-07-28

The center dashboard for the speedometer in my Promaster City Minivan poses a challenge during daylight hours due to its poor visibility.
