2016 Infiniti Qx60 problems
The Infiniti QX60, called the Infiniti JX until the 2014 model year, is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV with three-row seating produced by Infiniti, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Nissan. It is underpinned by an elongated Nissan Murano platform also used by the Nissan Pathfinder.
In keeping with Infiniti's naming scheme for 2014, in which cars begin with Q and SUVs begin with QX, the JX was renamed to QX60. While the number previously denoted engine displacement (for example, 35=3.5L engine), the new number, 60, is largely to do with its place in the product lineup, with larger numbers usually corresponding to more expensive vehicles.
First generation (L50; 2013)
The Infiniti JX35 was announced in April 2012 in the United States as a 2013 model. A concept version had been debuted at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event, while the production model was unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. For 2014, the car was renamed the QX60.
The QX60 was the first three-row crossover to be released by Infiniti. Design work was done through 2009, by Naoyuki Ohkoshi under Shiro Nakamura. In 2012 Nissan announced that the Pathfinder would also have the same platform as the QX60 for the 2013 model year.
The QX60 had previously been under consideration for the Australian market, but the numbers for right-hand-drive re-engineering and local homologation failed to add up and get approved by Australian authorities unlike its Nissan Pathfinder sibling. This results that the QX60 would not be available in RHD markets as it would only be available exclusively in LHD markets.

2016 Infiniti Qx60 recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 1 recalls for different components of the 2016 Infiniti Qx60.
- Manufacturer: Nissan North America, Inc.
- Components: AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION
- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. - Remedy: Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. Update - About a year later...The Infiniti has been rock solid reliable for us during the past year. Initial impressions still hold, this is a great cruising vehicle, perfect for comfortably shuffling people around. We've even towed our small camper with it and it towed well, it was stable and surefooted as always. I thought I'd mention some things I would change (and I know a new version is coming) - Lumbar support and memory positions for the passenger side seat, ventilation in the middle row seats (not just heat), auto-dimming outside mirrors, and a better lane-keeping system that doesn't use the brakes. Overall, more front seat adjustments would be nice as well (side bolsters, thigh support, etc.). The rest of the vehicle - keep it the same, I'd buy another one! It was time for us to replace our family vehicle with something a little smaller now that our nest is nearly empty. But we still needed to be able to tow. Since this would be my primary driver, I wanted something that was reasonably economical and more car-like than our Suburban. We drove several midsize SUVs (or Crossovers) including the Acadia, Enclave, Highlander, Pathfinder, and a few different QX60s. We really wanted a center-row bench, so that did limit our selections, although we were open to captain’s chairs if we felt the overall vehicle was better. I didn’t like the first QX we drove, it was 2015, AWD, with no options added. We also drove a few fully loaded Enclaves (2015, 2017) and Acadia (SLT and Denali versions, 2016, 2017). Then we drove the QX60 FWD with the 20-inch wheels that were fully loaded. It was game over after that. The QX was quieter, smoother, and if nothing else felt more powerful than the other cars, even the Highlander which is basically the same vehicle with different styling. So, we went for the QX60.We purchased the FWD version of the car, which came fully loaded with Premium, Premium Plus, Technology and Theater packages. It's a stunning car with a stylish design that isn't too flashy, but definitely not a boring 'grocery getter'. Our car is the Hakane (steel) Blue with a graphite interior, and the maple veneers complement the color beautifully. The engine noise is virtually non-existent, and the passing power is great, making merging into Florida's busy roads a breeze. The brakes are fantastic, smooth, and even, while the handling is great, striking a balance between a sports car and a 7-passenger wagon. The view while driving or backing up is excellent, and the cameras are a great help. I felt confident backing up the car even though I had never driven it before, and that feeling has persisted. The seats are comfortable and link to the key fobs, so my wife and I can have our own settings. The sound system is amazing, playing audio from our phones and USB sticks without any issues. The 15-speaker system with subwoofer is one of the best OE systems I have ever heard. Although we looked at a few new ones during our journey, not much has changed since 2016. The cup holder built into the console is different, but otherwise, nothing seemed significantly different. We didn't feel a bump in power between the 2016 and 2017 models that we drove, although there is supposed to be a 30+ hp difference. I do wish the Bluetooth setting would link to our key fob, so it would pick the right phone to sync with. Changing it through the menus requires quite a few clicks, and you need to remember to do it before the radio comes on, which can be a hassle.Cargo capacity with the 3rd row up is small but plentiful with the 3rd row collapsed. The power fold-up is handy for my wife who is much shorter than I am. The roof rack is easy to use, but it will block the headroom-robbing 2nd moonroof if you have the cover open when you are carrying items on the roof. It's good to remember that even with AWD, this is not an off-road vehicle. Watch those parking bump-stops (the front camera and collision warnings are great for that!). We are averaging 22 MPG in mainly stop-and-go driving, almost always with the AC on. Reliability has been perfect so far, and the factory powertrain warranty is still in effect. Oil changes are on par with our Suburban (we are using synthetic). And if I didn't mention it – this thing is quiet on the road, sometimes it's a little eerie! Another update - The only issue we have had with the vehicle is a repeating warning light for the collision avoidance system, which basically just keeps getting reset, and then comes back on. Only in the daytime. Infiniti did some bodywork, saying one of the sensors was damaged - where they had to paint something to match - but - that has not resolved the issue. The safety systems all still work, which makes it more confusing. The warning light is similar to water drop torture at times, and I wish they could fix it. We will continue to work with the dealer to attempt to get the light to go, and stay out.

I love my Infiniti QX60! I'm surprised it's not rated higher in its class. It's an awesome car that I plan to keep for a long time. The ride is really smooth!
-
If you're 6ft+ like me, you might find the seat base a bit short. Additionally, the pickup speed could be better, as it takes a while to get going. However, I must say, it's an absolute joy to drive!

Wanted this car for years, and I absolutely love the design. Now that I've finally purchased it, I couldn't be happier! It's a fantastic ride - luxurious and sporty.

As an experienced driver, I found the rental SUV to be quite underwhelming. While the seats and interior space were satisfactory, I was disappointed by the overall performance of the vehicle. Despite being marketed as a high-end SUV, the ride quality was only average. Additionally, I noticed several areas where the trim felt cheap and poorly made, such as the thin plastic on the steering wheel that protruded and caused discomfort. The acceleration of the vehicle was also subpar, failing to meet my personal standards.

I have owned a qx60 for 4 years. During this time, I had to replace both door handles (including the driver side twice) as the lights were not working anymore. I also had to replace one handle because it was rusted. However, the good news is that all of these issues were solved for free under warranty. I did experience two instances of noisy problems, but they were also resolved for free. Unfortunately, the brake pads and discs were broken at the beginning of the 3rd year with only 30k+ km, and I am not sure why. Currently, I am facing a new problem with my transmission. Despite these issues, I am still hopeful that I can find a solution. However, I am considering purchasing a car from a different brand next time. Overall, I would not consider this car a luxury vehicle.

This 2016 Infinity QX60 AWD has only clocked a little over 70,000 miles. However, the dealership has refused to honor any warranty, citing a power transfer unit failure in the all-wheel drive and a slipping CVT transmission with fluctuating RPMs. It is important to note that the initial designs of CVT transmissions were flawed and continue to be so. Additionally, the head gasket on the 3.5 engine has already leaked coolant and will require replacement soon. In summary, while the drivetrain on this vehicle has experienced some issues, it is important to acknowledge that these are common problems that can be addressed with proper maintenance. It is unfortunate that these issues have arisen, but they do not detract from the overall quality of the vehicle.

Infiniti had to buy the vehicle back under Lemon Law. If you are looking for a reliable vehicle, I would suggest avoiding Infiniti and Nissan products. After selling back the Infiniti, I purchased an Audi and could not be happier with my decision. Although I only had the Infiniti for 6 months, I experienced numerous problems such as a rattle in the front dash driver's side, loose-fitting seats, and a camera system with low resolution. The dealership took 2 months to correct the issue with the rattle. In addition, the city driving on standard mode is about 3-4 mpg less than the sticker. The seats are not built for anyone over 5'10

I had the pleasure of driving this SUV for a week while my car was being repaired. During that time, I put about 1000 miles on it and I must say, there were some things that really stood out to me. Firstly, the SUV is absolutely beautiful and the seats are incredibly comfortable, with leather and plenty of space. The vision is also great, with very few blind spots. The V6 engine is really responsive and accelerates nicely, although it can be a little noisy. It cruises at 75 very smoothly. However, I must say that for a $50,000 car (I had a base model), it didn't feel like it was worth the money. The Bluetooth paired with my phone for calls, but not for music, which is surprising in today's world. There was an Aux jack in the storage, but it wasn't very useful. The car even had RCA jacks, which I found a bit odd. The back-up camera was nice, especially with the 7 inch screen, but the infotainment system was useless, so it felt like a waste of a screen. The climate controls were also confusing and not easy to use. Personally, I much prefer my Outback, which although not quite as comfortable, has many more features for much less money. If you're looking for a car that looks good, this is definitely it, but if you're looking for something with more features, I would pass.
