2022 Infiniti Qx60 problems
The Infiniti QX60, called the Infiniti JX until the 2014 model year, is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV with three-row seating produced by Infiniti, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Nissan. It is underpinned by an elongated Nissan Murano platform also used by the Nissan Pathfinder.
In keeping with Infiniti's naming scheme for 2014, in which cars begin with Q and SUVs begin with QX, the JX was renamed to QX60. While the number previously denoted engine displacement (for example, 35=3.5L engine), the new number, 60, is largely to do with its place in the product lineup, with larger numbers usually corresponding to more expensive vehicles.
First generation (L50; 2013)
The Infiniti JX35 was announced in April 2012 in the United States as a 2013 model. A concept version had been debuted at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event, while the production model was unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. For 2014, the car was renamed the QX60.
The QX60 was the first three-row crossover to be released by Infiniti. Design work was done through 2009, by Naoyuki Ohkoshi under Shiro Nakamura. In 2012 Nissan announced that the Pathfinder would also have the same platform as the QX60 for the 2013 model year.
The QX60 had previously been under consideration for the Australian market, but the numbers for right-hand-drive re-engineering and local homologation failed to add up and get approved by Australian authorities unlike its Nissan Pathfinder sibling. This results that the QX60 would not be available in RHD markets as it would only be available exclusively in LHD markets.

Common 2022 Infiniti Qx60 problems
The 2022 Infiniti QX60 has been reported to have several common problems based on complaints from owners. One of the most significant issues is related to the transmission. Several owners have reported transmission failures, even in vehicles with low mileage. In one instance, a 2022 QX60 with only 3,000 miles on the odometer experienced a transmission failure while being driven on the highway. The driver lost all power when depressing the pedal, causing significant concern and requiring a tow to an Infiniti dealership for replacement. The dealer claimed that this was a rare issue and planned to send the transmission back to Infiniti for further diagnosis. Another issue that has been reported is related to recalls. The 2022 Infiniti QX60 has had at least two recalls. One recall is due to the Adaptive Front-Light System (AFS) potentially incorrectly adjusting the headlights downward at certain high speeds, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. Electrical issues have also been reported by owners of the 2022 Infiniti QX60. Some owners have experienced the center console/computer screen losing power, causing the entire computer system to go black. These issues can be frustrating for owners and may require multiple visits to the dealership for repair. While the 2022 Infiniti QX60 is expected to have about average reliability when compared to other new cars, these reported issues are concerning. Owners of the 2022 Infiniti QX60 are encouraged to stay up-to-date on recalls and to report any issues they experience to the dealership and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-07-29
- VIN: 5N1DL1GR5NC
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: The vehicle shifts from drive into neutral intermittently. This has happed several times over the coarse of 2 years that we have had vehicle. It has occurred on both highway and street driving and is a major safety concern. We have brought it into the dealership and they could not replicate it the first time and now they are working with Infiniti to troubleshoot.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-05-06
- VIN: 5N1DL1FR5NC
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: Safety issue with the Ringtone volume in the infotainment system while connected to Apple Carplay(not Bluetooth). The Ringtone volume setting is being adjusted(unwillingly) along with the call/media volume while in a phone call. Because the call volume has to be increased to a high level in order to hear the conversation, the Ringtone volume will be unintentionally increased at the same time. This cause a dangerously loud ring when a new call comes in due to the Ringtone volume stay high after the previous call. The Ringtone volume can be manually lowered after each call, but the loud ring still occur while adjusting, and defeat the purpose of such hand-free system. This issue cause a jump-scare every time a phone call is received, which could lead to an accident in certain situation. Repro steps: 1 - Start the car and let Apple Carplay connect automatically. 2 - Ensure the Ringtone volume is set to the minimum via the car's infotainment. 3 - Make a phone call using the connected phone. 4 - After the call is ringing/connected. Increase the call volume using the infotainment system's volume knob. 5 - Go back to the car's infotainment system and observe the Ringtone volume has been increased unintentionally. As I research the issue on the internet, the exact same concern has been reported and escalated to Infiniti/Nissan. There has been no resolution for the past 2+ years since the car has been on the market. Example: [XXX] resolution with my experience: Infiniti/Nissan can issue an over-the-air update and automatically set Ringtone volume back to the minimum after each call(via Apple Carplay, NOT Bluetooth) is completed. But many updates later, this issue has not been addressed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-02-06
- VIN: 5N1DL1HTXNC
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: With less than 2000 miles, the dash has blacked out while driving and that seems to have cleared finally. Now the hatch back will randomly open when walking near the back of the vehicle. Sometimes when the hatch is open, it will close while putting groceries in the back. It has been in to Infiniti for this and battery was replaced because they said it was bad. After a couple of days, hatch is acting up again like it has its own mind. Fortunately, it has not open while driving but warning light will come on saying it is not secure. Stop and reclose, repeat. Ugh. Infiniti is picking up tomorrow to have another look at the system. Hopefully they can repair because we love our vehicle otherwise.
VISIBILITY PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-10-28
- VIN: 5N1DL1GS5NC
- Components: VISIBILITY
- Summary: The contact owns a 2022 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while driving above 60 MPH, the driver's side mirror would vibrate, impairing visibility of surrounding vehicles. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure also occurred while driving on rough or bumpy road surfaces. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact notified a second dealer, Ramsey Infinity (535 NJ-17 S, Ramsey, NJ 07446), who advised that it was a known failure; however, they could not assist. The vehicle was then taken to a third dealer, Edison Infiniti (842 US-1, Edison, NJ 08817), where the mirror and the mirror housing where replaced; however, the failure persisted. The third dealer informed the contact that he needed to wait until the manufacturer had developed a remedy for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed awareness of the failure. The contact was informed that he would be notified whenever a remedy was made available. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-11-11
- VIN: 5N1DL1GS9NC
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: The vehicle does start after being parked overnight. This has happened on over 15+ occasions and counting. Once jump started, warning lights appear on the dash display. Already brought it in for service 2x, battery changed 1x and the battery change solution is not working. The problem is still repeating. Vehicle is being driven sufficiently daily to charge the battery, therefore this should not be happening on a new vehicle. I noticed there has been another complaint.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-09-03
- VIN: 5N1DL1FSXNC
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING
- Summary: No incidents. Headlight has a blackout area in the left headlight. Dealership service department could not fix.
SERVICE BRAKES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-04-21
- VIN: 5N1DL1GS0NC
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: When I'm pressing the brakes on the car at all speeds (more noticeable at slower speeds) the car jerks before it comes to a complete stop. When the car is first turned on, the cars brakes smoothly. Unfortunately, after a few times braking, the car will jerk before the car fully stops. At times , the jerk is minimal, where only I feel it. Other times, my passengers feel it and the whole car moves. Another issue I'm having with the vehicle is when pressing the brakes, the car takes a while to slow down, causing me to have to push the brakes with more force than usual, which is a problem especially driving in city streets. I took the car to the service department and they said they didn't feel what I described when they took the vehicle for a test drive. They did suggest I bring the car back if the problem continues. I'm concerned because I had major electrical problems with this vehicle already and I've only had this car for 3 1/2 months. Please help get these issues addressed. Thank you.
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-05-04
- VIN: 5N1DL1GS5NC
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: I was moving down a small slope behind other vehicles at a speed of 40-50 mph. In order to slow down a bit, I decided to manually downshift gear, I pressed the left switch and expected that after changing gear the speed it would begin to decline. But instead of slowing down, I felt a push in my back and for a second the car began to accelerate and only then began to slow down. I had to urgently apply the brakes so as not to crash into the car in front. I tried again to shift down and each time before changing the gear the car accelerated, although I did not press the accelerator pedal. To test why this is happening, I connected an OBD 2 device to record time, speed, absolute throttle position, accelerator pedal position and engine RPM. I have reproduced the situation on the track and it appears that the car's software actually increases throttle during manual downshifts. This is very dangerous and can lead to an accident, because the driver expects a decrease in speed, and instead of this, the car accelerates itself. I tried to contact the manufacturer, but they didn't even listen and sent it to the dealer. The dealer said that there was no new software and did not even check the dangerous behavior of the machine.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-02-28
- VIN: 5N1DL1GS0NC
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: The car does not start once it is parked, ignition is turned off and car is locked. The car requires a jump in order for it to start. Once it is jumped, the car has malfunction alerts, the battery light is lit in the vehicle and some features of the car do not work (i.e. lane assist, auto feature light is flashing, but when pressed nothing happens). My safety has been put at risk because the car could possibly shut off while I am driving, I could be stranded somewhere with my two young sons due to the car not starting. Once the car is shut off and locked, it does not restart. Luckily I have AAA and I have been able to get jumps 4 separate times over the past 2 weeks, but some are not that fortunate. I picked up the vehicle on February 14, 2022, so this should not be happening. I leased the vehicle from Kings Infiniti and have taken the car to them to get serviced every single time. The 1st time, the battery was changed because they thought that was the issue. The 2nd time, the telematics control unit was changed because they believed that was issue. The 3rd time, the battery was changed because they discovered the connection to the negative terminal in the battery would pop out causing the battery to discharge and the car would not start. Today, was the 4th time I took to vehicle in to Kings Infiniti and they kept it because they want to determine what is wrong. Also, when I brought my car in this morning, there was another person with the same 2022 QX60 experiencing the same problems as me and he purchased his car on Monday. Since I now know this problem is not solely my car, I want to inform you so Infiniti can be made aware of this major issue. No one should require a jump to start a brand new car. Something is happening once the car is turned off, locked and then attempted to re-start. In addition, when this happens, you need to press the "open door" button on the key to open the car because you are unable to open the door by simply touching the handle.

I've had my car for 6 months and I absolutely love it! It's incredibly comfortable and rides like a dream. Although I have noticed that my iPhone doesn't always stay connected to the charging pad, and there is a bit of wind noise. I've also found that the driver assist feature needs to be turned off if you want to take back control of the car. However, the stop and go feature works really well and isn't obtrusive at all. Overall, I'm very happy with my car!

I really like how comfortable it is! The seats feel great to the touch. However, there is a noise on the board that could be improved. While the 360 cameras have potential, they could use some work. I'm not entirely sold on the driving assistance, especially in curves. It can be dangerous, especially for someone without much experience behind the wheel.

I am 6ft 1inch and was looking to upgrade to a more luxurious type of crossover. My older kids are also my size and still travel with us at times. The Infiniti QX-60 has so much room, including head and leg room in the first and second rows. Along with the ample space, there is a beautiful interior design and fantastic noise reduction. The screen connects to my iPhone perfectly and allows us to use our mobile apps, including navigation features and Bluetooth. The sound system is great, and the handling is excellent. Although I did not purchase this car as a sports car and wanted more luxury with comfort on long trips, the performance is what I expected. The exterior has an amazing design and draws a lot of positive comments from people. There are so many features that I just can’t list them all. By the way, I purchased the lowest trim called the Pure. After some research, I would probably have been better off purchasing the Lux, but I am still very happy with the lower-priced Pure. I am thrilled that I purchased the 2022 Infiniti QX-60. UPDATE: I purchased the Pure trim, and I love everything about this newly redesigned QX-60. The exterior styling draws a lot of interesting and positive comments from people. The interior is fantastic and provides an incredible feeling of luxury and comfort. I have only experienced a couple of one-time glitches, such as having to reset the center console, but that was an easy fix, and I never saw the issue again. I have had no other issues. I highly recommend this SUV!

This is a lovely car and drives very well. However, the experience was ruined by electrical and infotainment problems. The infotainment bugs and screen getting pixelated require a restart twice a day. The rear climate is inconsistent and keeps blowing strong air on Auto and never seems to be able to catch up and lower the fan on cold days! This car would have been a great comeback for Infiniti if they provided much better quality control. Also, dealerships do not seem to have the right tools and expertise to test and fix such problems. They often open a case with Infiniti and wait for guidance, which takes some time. Would I buy an Infiniti product again? If I can afford the Acura MDX or German competitors, the answer is no. I leased this vehicle since it was significantly cheaper than the MDX lease.

I previously owned the QX60/JX35 with Intelligent Brake Assist and Predictive Collision Warning, which was fantastic for safety. However, the newer model does not have this feature unless you are in cruise control, which is not helpful for city/town driving. Unfortunately, this has made the safety of the car worse. Due to these issues, I cannot recommend this car. ***UPDATE Sept 23 - I still have the car because I cannot justify taking the significant financial loss. However, I still would NOT recommend this car. While it does get you from point A to point B, the usability issues make it a frustrating experience on a daily basis. Additionally, my local dealership recently closed, which raises concerns about Infiniti's performance in the market.

I have noticed some issues with my third qx60, particularly with the tech and radio. Despite seeking help from the dealer and corporate, the issues remain unresolved. Additionally, I find the redesigned interior uncomfortable, especially on the passenger side. While I previously owned a 2016 and 2019 QX60 and was looking forward to the new version, I have found that the 2022 model falls short in many ways. However, I do appreciate that the pickup remains unchanged. I hope that Infiniti will address these issues in future models.

I leased a QX60, but unfortunately, after just two months, I got stuck on the road due to the steering wheel locking while I was driving. The service team informed me that this was the first time they had experienced such an issue. However, it has now been two weeks, and they are still unable to diagnose the problem. While one person says they have ordered the necessary part, another is saying they are still working on it. Customer service has suggested that the issue may be with the gear. This situation has been quite chaotic and frustrating, and I am not satisfied at all with my brand new car with only 3000 km on it.

I've had this car for just under two weeks and unfortunately, it has been a very disappointing experience. Despite its attractive appearance, driver comfort is the most important feature and unfortunately, this car falls short in that regard. The heated/ventilated seats are not up to par and it's difficult to tell if they're even on. The air conditioning is also not very effective, especially on hot days. The infotainment system can be unreliable and locks up intermittently, which can be frustrating. The steering assist feature is not very good and can be dangerous, especially when trying to take control back from the car. The 17 speaker stereo is also not very impressive. Overall, I regret purchasing this vehicle.
