Infiniti Qx60 problems

The Infiniti QX60, called the Infiniti JX until the 2014 model year, is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV with three-row seating produced by Infiniti, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Nissan. It is underpinned by an elongated Nissan Murano platform also used by the Nissan Pathfinder.
In keeping with Infiniti's naming scheme for 2014, in which cars begin with Q and SUVs begin with QX, the JX was renamed to QX60. While the number previously denoted engine displacement (for example, 35=3.5L engine), the new number, 60, is largely to do with its place in the product lineup, with larger numbers usually corresponding to more expensive vehicles.
First generation (L50; 2013)
The Infiniti JX35 was announced in April 2012 in the United States as a 2013 model. A concept version had been debuted at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event, while the production model was unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. For 2014, the car was renamed the QX60.
The QX60 was the first three-row crossover to be released by Infiniti. Design work was done through 2009, by Naoyuki Ohkoshi under Shiro Nakamura. In 2012 Nissan announced that the Pathfinder would also have the same platform as the QX60 for the 2013 model year.
The QX60 had previously been under consideration for the Australian market, but the numbers for right-hand-drive re-engineering and local homologation failed to add up and get approved by Australian authorities unlike its Nissan Pathfinder sibling. This results that the QX60 would not be available in RHD markets as it would only be available exclusively in LHD markets.

- Date Of Incident: 2024-10-05
- Date Complaint: 2024-10-07
- VIN: 5N1AL0MM5FC
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The car intermittently will not accelerate after being idle at stop signs etc. this has occurred on 3-5 instances in the last 4 months. All but one time when getting the vehicle later it didn't have any issues. The battery has been tested and is good, I cleaned the terminals and still had it occur. Upon reading an Infiniti forum it sounds like it is an intermittent alternator issue or electric module. This put my daughter in a stalled vehicle in an intersection several times after trying to troubleshoot issues to resolve it.

Infiniti Qx60 2017
- Date Of Incident: 2024-04-01
- Date Complaint: 2024-09-19
- VIN: 5N1DL0MM7HC
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: Vehicle began ticking in early 2023. Then received check engine light and trouble codes P0014 and P0017. Took to Infiniti dealership. Dealership claimed "sludge - you did not change oil regularly, " which I did - either at Valvoline, Wal-Mart, or by myself. Multiple online forums about Infiniti QX60 indicate all the dealership mechanics are saying the SAME thing to customers who are having this issue. Dealership claimed vehicle would need NEW engine priced at over $17,000!! They are doing this nationwide and globally. Infiniti KNOWS there is an engine defect leading to sludge and failed engine. My engine did fail in April 2024, but thankfully in my home driveway and not at high speeds - this would have been deadly had it happened on a major highway!

- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-02
- Date Complaint: 2024-08-06
- VIN: 5N1DL1GS3PC
- Components: LANE DEPARTURE
- Summary: Warning light came on saying that the Lane departure warning and Forward were not working. Another message said "Unavailable High Cabin Temperature". After further investigation 2 of the 3 advanced navigation aids were flashing which means they may not be working correctly. In reality 1; the lane departure warning and functions stopped working. 2; Cruise Control was working. 3; Vehicle to vehicle distance control or AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) seemed to work. I did not feel comfortable fully testing this last mode out. I did not want to accidently crash into the vehicle in front of me. 4. The Blind spot stopped working. 5. The TSR (Traffic Sign Recognition) seemed to stop working also. We have pictures and a video of the issues on the instrument cluster if needed. We were driving from Del CA to our home in Mesa AZ. First part of the trip Del Mar to Yuma AZ was fine. We stopped for lunch in Yuma AZ for like an hour. Outside temperature was like 109. No issues when we continued on toward glia Bend AZ. We stopped in Gila Bend AZ for a quick break. My safety was put at risk on my last quarter of my drive between Gila Bend AZ to my Home in Mesa AZ. I could no longer rely on the lane departure, Intelligent Lane Intervention and Blind Spot detection/intervention etc... We took our 2023 Infinity QX60 to Coulter Infinity Mesa to have the vehicle checked out on 8/3/24. No issue found. I even notified them that After understanding that the air was due to the cabin temperature, that I set my side of the vehicle to the LO setting which is 60 degrees. My wife already had her side of the car to like 68 degrees. When we got home I opened the hood almost immediately to check (feel) the AC units lines. They were both the same temperature as the outdoor air. Like 110. If there is technology that would allow these cameras to operate at above the 104 degrees stared in Technical Service bulletin ITB22-035 dated October 10, 2022, I feel a recall is in order. Thank You

- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-02
- Date Complaint: 2024-08-03
- VIN: 5N1AL0MN9FC
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: We purchased this vehicle 3 days ago. Day 2 there was a transmission shudder. I know these cvt transmissions have issues but with less than 18k miles??? I looked up and yes infiniti extended the warranty but we no longer qualify for this I don't think this is fair! IT HAS 18K MILES on it. The fact infiniti didn't recall the transmission is ridiculous. There are thousands of people experiencing shudder issues, cars dying, this is a danger to the drivers and their families. Why is there no recall? Extending a warranty didn't do anything! This cvt needs to be recalled and fixed so people aren't in danger of crashing.

I believe that the QX60 is one of the best 3-row SUVs available today in terms of price, performance, comfort, style, safety, and technology. While it may not score an A+ in every category, it certainly earns a solid A- or B+ in each, making it a very well-rounded vehicle. Although I am not typically a fan of CVTs, I do not dislike the one in the QX60. While the suspension may be a bit too soft, it is important to remember that no one would choose a 3-row SUV for spirited driving. Additionally, the value offered by the QX60 is simply unbeatable. While the Q7 and XC90 may be better cars, they come at a cost of $15-20k more when similarly equipped.

I leased this vehicle to replace a M37x. Although I initially shopped for a new Q70, I found that this vehicle offered a better overall value. While it may be too much car for me personally, since I don't have a large family at home anymore, I was impressed by the subtle upgrades in the exterior design for 2016, the smoothness of the ride, and the ample roominess and interior quality (not to mention the nice, simple controls) of the vehicle. Ultimately, I was convinced to go with the QX60. The Infiniti incentives to waive some remaining lease payments and other dealer incentives helped to seal the deal. After seeing the fully loaded QX60 on the floor with the 20 inch wheels in diamond pearl white and java interior, I knew I had to have it. Looking back, I realize that I made an impulse buy without doing full research, which is something I never do.

I'm so glad to hear that you purchased the Autograph trim in warm titanium exterior and saddle interior! It sounds absolutely gorgeous. It's great to hear that all of the features, including infotainment, have worked perfectly so far. Even your 16 year old thinks it's a cool looking car that doesn't look like a 3 row mom car, which is always a plus! While it may not feel like a sports car, it's wonderful to hear that it feels comfortable, safe and luxurious. The stereo in this trim is also great, which is an added bonus!

I purchased this gorgeous looking car a little over a month ago and I absolutely love the new interior. While there are a couple of gripes that I have, overall I would still highly recommend it. One issue I've experienced is with the infotainment system freezing twice, but as a Software Engineer myself, I understand that this is likely to be resolved with an update. The other issue is that the auto stop start is not as smooth as other cars I've driven, but I usually just turn it off when I hop in the car. Once these minor issues are addressed, this car will definitely move to 5 star territory for me.

The car has less than 3500 miles and failed to start after stopping. It required a jump start once and was towed twice. I have never encountered such an issue with any car I have driven before.

We needed a bigger car for our growing family and after considering several options, we narrowed it down to the VW Atlas, Infiniti QX60, and Honda Pilot. The Atlas and QX60 stood out to us because of their ability to access the back seats without removing the baby car seats. While the QX60's exterior styling won over my wife, the Atlas has a nice panoramic sunroof similar to Audi's. Ultimately, we decided on the QX60 due to Infiniti's affordable lease options. For only the first payment of $479, we were able to drive away in a 2018 Infiniti QX60 AWD Premium Plus with remote start and heated steering wheel. Our lease is for 39 months with 12k miles/year, which we believe is a great deal. Although the ride and handling is not as nice as our Audis, it is still pretty good. Overall, we are very happy with our choice and feel that we got most of the features we wanted at a relatively affordable price.

Hi there! I've had this car for two years and it's been great, but recently I've had a few issues. After taking it in for routine service (15k service at 14k miles), I noticed some oil on my garage floor. I took it back to the dealership and they discovered it was a transmission issue. They were able to replace the transmission with a 2019 model, which was great. However, less than a week later, the car gave a strong shudder while stopped at a stop sign. I had to put it in park to get it to stop and my son in the back seat felt it too. I took it right back to the dealership and am waiting to hear what the issue is. I'm a bit disappointed that I've had these issues with such a young car, especially since I've never had any issues like this with my previous cars. But I'm hopeful that the dealership will be able to resolve the issue and get my car back to its great condition!

The car's advertised fuel efficiency of 26-28 MPG seems unrealistic based on my personal experience. Despite having the car for 6 months and driving approximately 5000 miles, I have only been able to average about 16 MPG. Unfortunately, the car has been back to the dealer over 3 times and they have been unable to find any issues. During one visit, they even took the car on various trips to test its performance and claimed to have achieved 26 MPG. However, I have since discovered that the Hybrid does not work when the air conditioning is on, which is a major inconvenience for me living in Florida where the air conditioning is always necessary. It would have been helpful if the dealer had informed me of this before I leased the car.

I purchased a new QX60 in August 2022, but unfortunately, it has been a nightmare since the beginning. Despite bringing it in repeatedly with videos of the car malfunctioning, the dealership was unable to duplicate the issue and only checked the software. Even when I brought it in clearly malfunctioning, my service advisor forgot about it. Over a year later, my car has been in the shop countless times for months, and while they have replaced at least $17,000 worth of parts covered under warranty, my car is now malfunctioning worse than ever. After months of gaslighting, they finally agreed to repurchase it, but they inaccurately applied my state's lemon law and did not properly acknowledge when my car qualified as a lemon. They are trying to cheat me out of as much as $14,000 by not acknowledging or reimbursing me for all the time my car has had problems. Infiniti is claiming that they don't have to reimburse me for nearly as much as if they properly followed the laws set forth by my state. I would advise being cautious of this company and avoiding these cars at all costs, especially the QX60.
