If I wasn't holding on to the steering wheel I would have lost control of the car and been involved in an accident. I was able to press the break with the tip of my toe, manage to put the car in park, readjust the seat and go back into drive. All this while the light had turned green and cars were accelerating behind me. This happened twice tonight!! I am taller than my mom, but she is the primary driver of this vehicle. And this has started happening more often. I am VERY concerned for her safety with this issue driving to work and heading home. And she is a senior driver. You can imagine my concern... We always check the seats when first getting into the car to make sure everything is ok. But now the seat is dislodging without warning ️. Could this possibly be a recall issue we missed? I think it's time to trade in this vehicle for a different one if nothing can be done

- Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017 Dodge Caravan and Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The brake switches on these vehicles may malfunction, keeping the brake lights illuminated and/or allowing the vehicle to be shifted out of the PARK position without the brake pedal being pushed.
- Consequence: Having the brake lamps continuously illuminated or being able to shift the vehicle out of PARK when the brake pedal is not pressed (and the ignition is in the RUN mode) can increase the risk of a crash.

I've had a positive experience with the van so far. It has only needed to be serviced once for an issue with the automatic locks. However, I have noticed that the AC doesn't work well, especially for passengers in the back during the hot Texas summers. Additionally, some parts of the interior have not held up well despite being in a non-use area. On the bright side, I appreciate the V6 engine and its handling. One minor inconvenience is that changing the air filter is quite difficult. Perhaps it could be made more accessible?

I bought it in '97 with 47k on it. I've had to replace 2 transmissions, one at 75k and another at 140k, but I still love this van. It's 13 years old and still gets an average of 18 mpg year-round, and 26+ on the interstate. I plan to keep driving it until it finally gives up!

I recently purchased this '03 Sport off lease for $16,000 with only 13,000 miles on it. Since then, I have driven over 12,000 miles without any issues. I have been averaging 20-21 mpg in a 60/40 city highway mix. Although I looked at Oddesys and Siennas, they were too expensive for my budget. I found that the Honda had too much road noise and the Toyota lacked the features I wanted without having to purchase additional items. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and reliability of the Caravans, which has significantly improved over the past 4-5 years. Therefore, I highly recommend them!

My uncle gave me his 1996 Dodge Caravan when he bought a brand new one the year before last. It has been a great minivan, with comfortable seats and reliable performance. Although it has its quirks, like the windshield wipers turning on unexpectedly and a loud knocking noise from the glove box, it has a lot of personality. If you don't mind these minor issues, this could be the perfect car for you. Unfortunately, ours has reached the end of its road. However, while I was researching new vans, I wanted to take a moment to write a positive review for our old faithful.

I had a few issues with my Dodge. The sway bar bushings needed to be replaced at 34000 miles, which took a few trips to the dealer to get it right. At 41000 miles, the transmission went out, but luckily I had an extended warranty. Unfortunately, the blinkers stopped working at 44000 miles and are still not fixed. Overall, I had a frustrating experience with my Dodge and it has left me hesitant to purchase another one in the future.

I purchased this van brand new in November with only 6 miles on it. However, since then, I have been experiencing a persistent bird noise. Despite having taken it to the shop almost every month, the issue has not been resolved, even after replacing the belt and pulley. Although I enjoy driving my van, the noise is a concern and I am taking it back to the dealer today to see if they can offer a solution. I am curious to know if anyone else has experienced a similar issue.

134K miles and it's been pretty much bullet proof. The 3.0 L engine leaks oil like crazy (doesn't burn it) but just keep it topped off. I'm glad to hear that your wife loves to drive it. It also has decent gas mileage and plenty of power.

I really enjoyed using this van to travel around Texas, but unfortunately it started experiencing issues with power loss and stalling while I was driving. The dealer informed me that the transmission pump was broken due to the hot summer weather, and it cost me $2025 to fix. Although I had a gold protection warranty from Chrysler that covered me up to 75000 miles, my car broke down at 75500 miles and Chrysler refused to take responsibility. As much as I loved this car, it's time to say goodbye to my van since it's not suitable for living in Texas!

Although there have been some issues with the Van since its purchase, it has been taken to Dodge service for maintenance 12 times. The steering wheel made popping sounds and the check engine light came on twice, once while at Disney World. The brakes had to be replaced at 30K miles. Despite these challenges, I am still committed to keeping the vehicle. However, in the future, I will consider purchasing a Toyota for its reliability.
