1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse problems
The Mitsubishi Eclipse is a sport compact car that was produced by Mitsubishi in four generations from 1989 until 2011. A convertible body style was added during the 1996 model year.
The first two generations share the automobile platform and parts with the rebadged Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser captive imports. They were built during Mitsubishi Motors' close relationship with Chrysler Corporation. Their partnership was known as Diamond-Star Motors (DSM). In Japan, the first two generations were sold at a specific Japanese retail chain called Mitsubishi Car Plaza. The third, 2000–2005 generation shared a redesigned platform with the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Stratus. In May 2005, the fourth, and final generation Eclipse was introduced, replacing the Chrysler platform used for the third generation with the PS platform.
According to Mitsubishi Motors, the Eclipse was named after an unbeaten 18th-century English racehorse that won 18 races in a row and then retired.
At the end of August 2011, the final Eclipse was manufactured and subsequently auctioned for charity.
In 2017, Mitsubishi resurrected the Eclipse name on a compact crossover vehicle, called the Eclipse Cross.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with this car I bought used. It's had a few issues with alignment and a rear main seal leak, but I've been taking it to the shop regularly and it's been running smoothly. It may not have the most horsepower, which can be a bit of a challenge in hilly areas or when driving through mountains, but overall it's been a reliable car. The interior did start to show some wear and tear after 100K, but that's to be expected with any car. Thanks for listening!

This is my second car and I'm only 16 years old. I bought it with the intention of modifying it and taking it to the local dragstrip. The first time I drove the car, I absolutely fell in love with it!

This car was built like a rock. You'll be happy to know that it has had very few problems and is still going strong at 130,000 miles!

When I first saw it, I fell in love with this car. It has a very sporty look and is fun to drive. In my opinion, it corners like it's on rails. I bought it with 44,000 miles on it and didn't have to do a thing to it until 120,000 miles (not even brakes). However, I've had some problems with it since then. I think some of it has to do with the mechanics that have been working on it, and everybody has a different opinion on what's wrong with it. Overall, it's an excellent car for the money. I would highly recommend this car to anyone.

Very few problems and the warranty covered those. Maintenance costs are minimal. It's the best car we have ever bought!

This car has had some issues since the day of purchase, but I have taken care of them promptly and efficiently. The exhaust system has been overhauled twice in just over a year, but I have been able to maintain an average of 15-20 mpg. Although there have been other minor issues, I have been able to address them in a timely manner. Overall, I have invested more in repairs than the initial sale price of $2500, but I am confident that the car is now in good condition and will continue to serve me well.

Your car has been a reliable companion for almost a decade, with a strong engine that has served you well. However, you have experienced some issues with the electronics and the paint job. It's unfortunate that you've had to replace the computers multiple times, and the paint has not held up as well as you would have liked. It's really fun to drive! The car is manual and goes really fast. It's also very compact, which makes it perfect for high school students like me. However, it's not very spacious and can't fit a lot of people. The handling is great though!
