2017 Lincoln Mkt problems

The Lincoln MKT is a full-size luxury crossover SUV with 3-row seating that was marketed by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company; a single generation was produced from the 2010 to the 2019 model years. Slotted between the Lincoln MKX (renamed the Lincoln Nautilus) and the Lincoln Navigator, the MKT shared its Ford D4 chassis with the Ford Flex CUV and the 2011-2019 Ford Explorer.
While the MKT had no direct Lincoln predecessor, its introduction coincided with the discontinuation of the Mercury Mountaineer (based on the Ford Explorer); a livery variant of the MKT continued the use of the Lincoln Town Car name.
After the 2019 model year, Ford ended the use of its D3/D4 chassis, discontinuing the MKT and counterparts. Within the Lincoln model range, the MKT was not directly replaced, but the second-generation Lincoln Aviator is a 3-row Lincoln CUV. It is mid-size and slotted between the Nautilus and Navigator.
Throughout its production, the MKT was assembled by Ford of Canada at its Oakville Assembly facility at Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

I really love my car, it's cool and classy and stands out from all the other boring SUVs on the road. My lease for my 2013 MKT is up soon and I'm considering buying another one. I've test driven other SUVs like the Enclave, MDX, and QX60, but none of them compare to the excitement I feel behind the wheel of my MKT. The powerful ecoboost engine gives me great confidence when I need to pass another driver. Plus, I get all the benefits of a minivan without actually having to drive one. My husband agrees that buying another MKT when my lease is up is the best decision. Lincoln, please don't stop making the MKT! It's a classy SUV that outperforms any other SUV in this price range.

I've been driving my car for 10 years now and it still looks brand new! Despite having 127000 miles on it, the original brakes are still going strong. Every time I get the oil changed, I have the brakes checked, but they are still well within the safe range. Although I recently moved to a colder climate and the heat doesn't seem to be working as well as it should, the dealership assured me that it's functioning properly. I've never had any mechanical issues in the 8 years I've owned it, and while it's on its 3rd battery (which only last 3 years), I still love my car. Update: I had the heater coil flushed and now the heat works great!

This car is an excellent choice for those who prioritize safety features, such as auto braking, adaptive cruise control, and navigation system. Its exceptional handling and enjoyable driving experience make it a top contender in its class. While the exterior styling may not be the most impressive, it should not deter potential buyers from considering this vehicle. The interior knobs and panels could be of better quality, especially for a car that costs $60K. In terms of performance, it delivers a good mileage of 23 mpg on the road and 19 mpg in the city. Although there has been an intermittent issue with the heat, the actuator is being replaced this week, and I am confident that it will finally resolve the problem. With 19,800 miles on the odometer and one year of ownership, I can say with certainty that this car is a reliable and worthwhile investment.

The car itself is fantastic! It has very fast acceleration and is incredibly comfortable. It's also pretty good on gas and can fit up to 7 people, making it perfect for traveling. Although the car looks amazing both inside and out, the maintenance can be quite expensive due to the parts being imported. Perhaps a Highlander would have been a cheaper option, but overall, I still think this car is pretty nice.

I have never owned a car that I enjoyed more. Although I have owned Cadillacs for over the last 30 years and used to trade every two years, I must say that this Lincoln rides the best of any car I have ever owned. While I have had some complaints about Cadillacs, I am thoroughly impressed with this vehicle.

The car is comfortable, roomy, quiet, and powerful enough when needed with the Ecoboost. Personally, I left a Ford Flex for it, so the styling is not an issue for me. Actually, I like both. However, there are some concerns and disappointments that I have with the car. These are known issues shared by many owners on internet forums that lead me to conclude that they are flawed designs. For instance, the light cluster that covers the width of the tailgate is known to take water and mess with the electrical of your lights and back-up camera. Unfortunately, you have to change the whole cluster which costs around 2100 dollars! It does not include the camera which costs 500 dollars. Another issue is that the climate control will on its own act up and go to high. You have to change the whole electronic panel behind the controls which costs around 600 dollars. These prices do not include labour. It is disappointing that Lincoln does not recognize any of these problems past the warranty and offers no good-will program or help. I have experienced all three problems between 80 to 85,000 miles in the last few months. For the record, I was able to source only one used light cluster. Once there....it had taken water also! In conclusion, for a so-called luxury brand, Lincoln is not offering much support to its customers on well-documented repeated MKT failures. Fortunately, I have not experienced so far another known flaw that I noticed when researching mine: « explosion » of the moonroof. I was looking at the Aviator for next year before all that. Not anymore. They lost me.

I purchased this car from a Ford dealership just over two years ago. It was previously owned by the service manager's wife. Although I wish I had known what TSBs were at the time, I have had to take it to a Ford or Lincoln dealership for numerous Technical Service Bulletins. Thankfully, the sunroof is now working, but it took nearly two years to fix. Unfortunately, the trunk doesn't stay elevated when it's supposed to, which has caused me some discomfort. Since June, I have had to take it to the dealership every month for one issue or another, and it has been rattling terribly since then. Despite this, I have had to fight for the dealership to do the right thing on two occasions when their mechanics made mistakes. Although the car has great pick up and go when the turbos are working, I have had to replace them three times, and one of them went out during Hurricane Irma, leaving me stranded. As a single mom, I need a reliable car, and unfortunately, I have lost faith in this brand and the dealerships that sell them. While the car is comfortable, I would not recommend it due to its unreliability.

Although I take responsibility for purchasing this car, I must express my disappointment with it. The car's narrow design makes it uncomfortable for long trips, and the two-zone comfort system is not as advertised, with only one fan. Additionally, the safety system's beeping and on-screen messages can be distracting. The car also has some design flaws, such as whistling in windy conditions or when passed by other vehicles. Overall, these issues detract from the car's quality and usability.

This car had numerous repairs under the extended warranty, including a new steering gear, 3 control arm replacements, rear seal replacement, adaptive cruise control replacement, and fixing numerous rattles. Although it rides very hard on rougher roads, the performance on acceleration is good and it is a smooth ride on good roads. The front seats are not comfortable due to a platform directly under your feet that does not allow you to place your feet flat on the floor. However, there is lots of room for storage. While the residual value is not high, this car is still a good investment due to its smooth ride and good performance.
