There is an intermittent problem with shift delay and/or "jumping" during acceleration from first gear. Often happens at stopped position at light and is dangerous if turning in front of oncoming traffic. I was hoping for a recall on this issue, but guess I'll have to take it to a repair shop at my expense. As for any warning lights.... about a month ago, the check engine light came on while we were traveling, but went away on its own by the time we got home a couple days later, so don't know if it is related or not? - Summary: IPULLED INTO MY DRIVE WAY AND MY CAR DIED OUT NO OVER HEATING NO WARNING LIGHT NO ANYTHING. I LOOKED UNDER MY HOOD TO CHECK EVERYTHING AND NOTICED MY COOLANT WAS GONE I THEN POURED MORE INTO IT REALIZING THAT IT WAS ALL GOING OUT OF MY CAR I BUT NOT ONTO THE GROUND. To think this was a Ford Flex. There's no comparison. The Flex and the MKt are built on the same chassis and you would never know it. The ride is great, the style is great, and the features in my car are truly outstanding. I factory ordered this car and the wait was well worth it. Adaptive cruise is a must for all cars, collision warning is a must, and sway control with the factory Class 3 hitch is a must.

Just bought the vehicle without knowing much about it and was thoroughly impressed by the quality, comfort and engineering. Outstanding acceleration, great handling and typical Lincoln Town Car style quiet ride. Excellent safety features are part of a unique package assembled by Ford. I have owned 4 Town Cars and currently have 2 Jaguars XJ series. This MKT handles as good as the XJ8 and is as much fun to drive. Highly recommended!

Comfort, luxury, and fun to drive - this car has it all! I absolutely love it. Plus, there's plenty of leg room in all three rows and the double moon roof is a great touch.

The brakes may take some getting used to, as the pedal can feel soft and spongy with a lot of travel at low speeds. However, once you get used to it, driving at highway speeds feels normal. Despite having the entire brake system, including the lines, replaced by the dealer, the issue persists. Despite this, we have owned the car for 5 years and love its performance. We are planning to replace it next year with a Ford Explorer AWD ecoboost.

I live in the snow belt with my 4 kids and dog, so I need a 7 passenger vehicle with 4WD. My Ecoboost has exceptional driving dynamics. I disagree with Edmunds' review, as I find the MKT to be more luxurious and prestigious than the Flex. I have also owned an Enclave, which is great but different, and previously turned in an LR3, which was not so great. When considering my options for this purchase, I compared the Flex, R-Class, XC90, Commander, and LR4. Unfortunately, I discovered that the MKT has a partially disabled SYNC system, which is perplexing and disturbing. I encourage you to check out the website and compare the cars for yourself. It's worth noting that the Focus has the full suite of features, while the MKT is somewhat handicapped.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share our experience with the MKT so far. Unfortunately, we've had some trouble getting it started and had to have it towed to the dealer after only 300 miles. It was a bit frustrating to have to make several phone calls and wait three days for a loaner car, but we're hopeful that the dealer will be able to resolve the issue. We haven't heard back from them yet, but we're staying positive. We did want to mention that we've heard about some ignition problems with the new model, so it's definitely something to ask about if you're considering purchasing one. Overall, we think it has the potential to be a great car, but we're still waiting to see how it performs once we can actually drive it. Thanks for listening!

I had an issue with my Ford/Lincoln engine and was fortunate enough to have a compassionate and concerned Ford representative who called me at least twice a week until the engine was replaced. I give her 10 stars! The MKT is now running great. However, I did not receive any follow-up from Holman Lincoln dealer after the installation of the engine. Currently, the car is in the shop to replace parts for steering and new tires as the old ones are worn out. The car has only 109,000 miles on it and the tires are only 3 years old. In February 2020, after owning Lincolns for 35 years, I have decided to switch to the Lexus brand. I have pumped over 8 gallons from the passenger side of my 2010 MKT and have tried to fix the issue by putting new seals and cleaning out the vents beneath the windshield wipers. However, the Lincoln dealer wants to charge me about $165.00 just to check it. Although Lincoln paid for the engine, I still had to pay $5000.00 for installation. I am looking forward to getting rid of my 2010 MKT and switching to Lexus when the economy bounces back.

I bought this car seven years ago and it has been a great companion. However, over time, some issues arose such as the auto park, tilt and extend steering wheel, auto climate control mixing valve, rear main outer wheel bearing, and clogged sunroof weep holes that filled both front floors with water. The exhaust also needed to be replaced from converters back. Unfortunately, the engine failed due to a water pump failure that was inside the engine and was deemed unusable. Despite these issues, I loved the car and followed all maintenance checklists and recommended services. I had items repaired as they stopped working, except for the engine. Eventually, I had to give up on the car. 😥😟😩
