2011 Lincoln Mkt problems
The Lincoln MKT is a full-size luxury crossover SUV with 3-row seating that was marketed by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company; a single generation was produced from the 2010 to the 2019 model years. Slotted between the Lincoln MKX (renamed the Lincoln Nautilus) and the Lincoln Navigator, the MKT shared its Ford D4 chassis with the Ford Flex CUV and the 2011-2019 Ford Explorer.
While the MKT had no direct Lincoln predecessor, its introduction coincided with the discontinuation of the Mercury Mountaineer (based on the Ford Explorer); a livery variant of the MKT continued the use of the Lincoln Town Car name.
After the 2019 model year, Ford ended the use of its D3/D4 chassis, discontinuing the MKT and counterparts. Within the Lincoln model range, the MKT was not directly replaced, but the second-generation Lincoln Aviator is a 3-row Lincoln CUV. It is mid-size and slotted between the Nautilus and Navigator.
Throughout its production, the MKT was assembled by Ford of Canada at its Oakville Assembly facility at Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

Turning the car off and re-starting it fixes the problem however this happens about every other week. What a great car! It's so comfortable and has plenty of power. I'm amazed at how well it drives and accelerates. Plus, there's so much space to carry cargo or people. Even the gas mileage is pretty good if you don't go heavy on the pedal! I have almost 160,000 miles on it and, while I've had to make a few repairs, it's going to be hard to replace this comfortable ride. I would love another Lincoln, but the price is a bit of a problem. And let's not forget about the 3.7 6 cylinder engine - it's really spoiled me!
-
Overall, I am really happy with this vehicle. Mine is a fully loaded EcoBoost. Although, like most, I wish the gas mileage was a bit better, the vehicle has great power and refinement.
-
What a car to drive! It handles like a dream and the eco boost is everything it's hyped up to be. The interior is also very nice.
-
Comfort, luxury, and fun to drive - this car has it all! I absolutely love it. Plus, there's plenty of leg room in all three rows and the double moon roof is a great touch.
-
I was intrigued by this car the first time I saw it and was sold on it after the test drive. I've not been disappointed. The MKT handles great, with ample pick-up and good braking. It hugs the road with a smooth, quiet ride and has lots of features and conveniences that pamper the driver and passengers. Every time I drive it, I feel like I'm in a luxury car.

I had an issue with my Ford/Lincoln engine and was fortunate enough to have a compassionate and concerned Ford representative who called me at least twice a week until the engine was replaced. I give her 10 stars! The MKT is now running great. However, I did not receive any follow-up from Holman Lincoln dealer after the installation of the engine. Currently, the car is in the shop to replace parts for steering and new tires as the old ones are worn out. The car has only 109,000 miles on it and the tires are only 3 years old. In February 2020, after owning Lincolns for 35 years, I have decided to switch to the Lexus brand. I have pumped over 8 gallons from the passenger side of my 2010 MKT and have tried to fix the issue by putting new seals and cleaning out the vents beneath the windshield wipers. However, the Lincoln dealer wants to charge me about $165.00 just to check it. Although Lincoln paid for the engine, I still had to pay $5000.00 for installation. I am looking forward to getting rid of my 2010 MKT and switching to Lexus when the economy bounces back.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share our experience with the MKT so far. Unfortunately, we've had some trouble getting it started and had to have it towed to the dealer after only 300 miles. It was a bit frustrating to have to make several phone calls and wait three days for a loaner car, but we're hopeful that the dealer will be able to resolve the issue. We haven't heard back from them yet, but we're staying positive. We did want to mention that we've heard about some ignition problems with the new model, so it's definitely something to ask about if you're considering purchasing one. Overall, we think it has the potential to be a great car, but we're still waiting to see how it performs once we can actually drive it. Thanks for listening!

I bought this car seven years ago and it has been a great companion. However, over time, some issues arose such as the auto park, tilt and extend steering wheel, auto climate control mixing valve, rear main outer wheel bearing, and clogged sunroof weep holes that filled both front floors with water. The exhaust also needed to be replaced from converters back. Unfortunately, the engine failed due to a water pump failure that was inside the engine and was deemed unusable. Despite these issues, I loved the car and followed all maintenance checklists and recommended services. I had items repaired as they stopped working, except for the engine. Eventually, I had to give up on the car. 😥😟😩
