- Summary: I was driving east from Austin, Tx on [XXX], and as I approached a major intersection in Elgin, Tx., a warning light appeared on my dashboard that said "hybrid system failure: pull over safely". I was able to pull over into the left turn lane and then was barely able to make it over a curb and onto a highway median strip, before my car engine stopped and all dashboard lights went out. This happened in about 30 seconds. My two year old car with fewer than 30,000 miles on it went completely dead. It would not start even after several attempts. I called Kia roadside assistance, and was told I needed to have the car towed to a dealership. The tow truck driver backed the car into the space they indicated at the dealership, and it started to roll forward as it was apparently in neutral. He had to borrow a board to put under the back wheels. Days later I was told to come get the car, as it had been repaired. When I got there, it was in the same space with the board still under the wheels. I was told it just had needed a software update. (SA553A). I was never notified that my vehicle needed this update, and would just stop wherever: i.e. on a hwy with no shoulders, at night, etc. and that I would be unable to brake the car, or drive it, or put on emergency warning lights after 30 seconds. This was unbelievably unsafe. I am [XXX]. What if I were a family with children on board and it happened on a highway at night??? - Summary: I purchased a 2020 Sportage in 2022 from St.Cloud Honda in St. Cloud, MN. Recently my engine locked up after no oil. I was over in mileage, but had an oil change in April. I would receive warning lights for tire pressures but never received an indication that my oil was low until my engine seized. I don't understand why a critical component for the car, the oil, would not issue an indication that it was low until it was empty (too late). During my recent problem, my oil light came on as did the battery light, but the car stalled at that moment. During my last oil change in April, I let the advisor know that my engine light was on (not oil nor battery). The mechanic said it was from a previous repair, but there wasn't anything detected. They had the light turned off and then as soon as I left the dealership it turned back on. When I called back to let them know, they said it wasn't anything. That was a relief because I didn't want anything to be wrong with my engine. My vehicle is currently at Cornerstone Kia in Elk River, MN should you have anything to discuss with the advisors.

- Summary: Hood latch seccondary safety latch did not catch hood and hood flew up causing inability to see and luckily only damage the car itself. This is a dangerous problem with Kia and should be investigated for the safety catch becoming corroded and sticky. Its design is defective and it should be recalled and reworked so that it can not become corroded and sieze preventing safe operation in the event the primary latch comes unclipped while driving down the road at speed if a person were to accidentally pull the hood release in motion or it it were so fail to hold adequately.

I searched extensively for the car that I wanted and I finally found it! It's a fun, affordable, and hassle-free AWD vehicle. The seating position is great and the seats are sporty, although they may be a bit firm for some. I get an impressive 28mpg while zooming around. While it may not be a drag racer, it feels planted and sporty to drive, making it quite enjoyable at times. The car is loaded with equipment and the interior is very thoughtful and user-friendly, with plenty of cup holders and accessory ports for gadgets. I also love the sharp, euro-inspired looks. The AWD works really well, especially in bad weather, and it loves to cruise at 70-80 mph. It has been super reliable, with over 160k miles on it and not a single trip to the shop for repairs or malfunctions. Insurance is also quite affordable. Ultimately, it was the complete package and I got everything I wanted, including the perfect seating position and driving feel, all for under $24k. Update: The odometer now reads 202k and it's still going strong!

This vehicle has been a proven performer. With proper maintenance, I have driven 83,000 miles without any major repairs (I did have to replace the horn, but that was a minor issue). It's a joy to drive and very comfortable on long trips. I would take this vehicle anywhere without any worries.

This is the best small SUV in terms of quality/price rapport. It's very silent and offers a smooth ride. It's also stylish and perfect for a small family. Although, my biggest complaint is about fuel economy. I measured gas consumption many times and found that in the city the car gives 16 mpg, but on the highway it is just fine: 27 mpg.

Who wouldn't love a quality 4x4 6 cylinder SUV for just $16K? It comes with electric windows, power locks, and a CD player, and it performs excellently in the snow. The only issue I encountered was that the right side power mirror stopped working, but I'll wait a month to see if any other minor issues arise. The best part is the 10-year/100,000-mile warranty. This deal is hard to beat, even by Toyota and Honda standards. I did my research before purchasing, and I'm thrilled with my decision. Only time will tell how it holds up, but so far, so good!

Kia has a fantastic warranty, which is great news. This car is both stylish and convenient, and despite being an SUV, it can make pretty sharp turns. It is spacious yet not monstrous. I have been averaging about 27-29 on the highway and 22-23 in the city, which is impressive. I also appreciate the convenience of having AC vents in the middle around the knee area, which keeps the back seat cool as well. It gets up and goes yet runs very quietly and smoothly.

Despite taking it to Kia and being told that a software update was needed, the issue persisted just 2 days later. In my later posts, I talked about the issue with the rear differential leaking. The dealer replaced the differential twice, but it still didn't solve the problem. Eventually, they decided to install a completely different differential. According to the date stamp on the casting, it was manufactured in 2010. So far, it's been working perfectly and there's no sign of any leaks. However, it did take them two weeks to fix it. As a gesture of goodwill, they gave me a free cargo mat to make up for the inconvenience. While it was a nice gesture, I believe they could have done even better, considering the profit margin on the sale.

I also gave this car 5 stars 3 years ago! The styling is really cool, and it has an awesome sunroof. The cargo and passenger room are decent too. However, I have experienced a few issues such as 2 brake switch replacements (which were recently recalled), less than expected gas mileage, and some squeaks and rattles. Lately, the transmission has also been revving too high. I was hoping that this rather expensive model would last me 10 years, but I'm not so sure anymore. It might be a hard sell once the warranty expires. I know things happen, but it's frustrating to see my car being towed on a flatbed twice while still making car payments.
