THE WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS FOR JUMP STARTING ARE ACCURATE. HOWEVER, THE DIAGRAM DEPICTS THE JUMPER CABLES ATTACHED TO THE WRONG POLARITY TERMINALS. IF THE DIAGRAM WERE FOLLOWED WITHOUT REFERENCE TO THE INSTRUCTIONS, THE RESULTING IMPROPER CONNECTIONS COULD CAUSE THE BATTERY TO RUPTURE AGGRESSIVELY DUE TO INCREASED INTERNAL PRESSURES.

I'm so glad to hear that you've had three years of trouble-free driving with your 2000 Sportage 4WD! It's great to know that the paint job has held up well and that the 4WD is super-simple to engage and operate. It's also fantastic to hear that nothing has gone wrong mechanically, and that you haven't had any issues with burned out light or brake light bulbs. While I understand that the on/off button for the radio has been corrected in later models, it's great to hear that you still enjoy driving it. Absolutely a joy to drive! It sounds like you've found the perfect commuter car. The automatic transmission is a great feature, making it easy to navigate parking decks around the college campus. The car shifts well and has outstanding pick up for its size. Even with the rear seat removed, there is still plenty of room and power.

No mechanical problems to-date (36k mi.). Very nice standard features. The interior layout is excellent. The power is adequate around town and in steady highway cruising. Some scheduled maintenance can be pricey, but the body hardware is good and there are no squeaks or rattles. The lack of body cladding is a plus.

This has been a good SUV, but unfortunately, the back seat is not big enough for families. On the bright side, it has been good on fuel and provides a smooth ride.

This car is a great choice for getting you from one place to another. It's fun to drive and has plenty of storage for long trips. While it's not a hot rod, it can still carry 4x8 sheets. During the warranty period, Kia was very helpful in repairing minor body rust, CD/radio, and AC condensation on the passenger side. However, after 7 years and 85,000 miles, the gas tank rusted out and Kia would not replace it. It would have cost me about $1200 - $1500 to replace, which was not worth it. Overall, this car is a reliable and practical choice for everyday use.

The vehicle has been well-maintained with only brake replacement and regular maintenance required, despite being bought used with 14000 miles and now having almost 45000. The ride and noise improved significantly after wider tires were installed, addressing the previous noise issue on the highway. While the gas mileage is not as good as the F150 V6, it is important to note that the little 4 cylinder engine works hard and a 6 cylinder engine would have been a better fit.

I have experienced multiple issues with my Kia, including rust and breakage of the rear tire hinge, breakage of the gas door lock, and repeated malfunctioning of the air conditioning. Additionally, the window fell down and the locks have been unreliable. Despite having 4WD and studded tires, the car has not performed well in winter conditions. These issues have left me stranded in extreme weather conditions. Based on my experiences, I do not plan to purchase another Kia in the future.

My Sportage 4WD was a great choice due to its affordable price and unbeatable warranty. Although it has had some issues, such as the dome lights not working and the door to the gas tank not opening, as well as major problems like the neutral safety switch breaking and the 4WD malfunctioning twice, it has been promptly repaired. Despite being without 4WD for most of the winter, I am confident in the quality of my Sportage and its ability to handle the tough conditions where I live.
